zombie delivers a masterpiece

this is one awesome movie from director zombie. first of all thank you for not making pg13 movie like all these so called watered down horror movies that keeps getting shoved down our throats just to sell more tickets. zombie should be commended for going out and making a movie that adults can enjoy and not feel like they have been raped of there $8.00 after they leave the theatre. otis and spaulding were awesome and forsyth was equally as good, awesome soundtrack. only regret was DDP role was to short. THIS IS A MUST SEE................

imax and dvd: AWESOME

Wow, this dvd is one of the greatest. I've always enjoyed imax movies and now i can watch them whenever i want on dvd. This dvd has five movies on it;"The Living Sea," "The Discoverers," "Stormchasers," "The Magic of Flight," and "Dolphins: The Ride." All of these movies are great, but my favorites are "The Living Sea," and "dolphins:the ride" The first, "the living seas" takes you on a tour through the ocean. Through stunning pictures and breath taking sound it shows you the world of those creatures that live under the sea. This movie is a true great, and one of the best imax films. My next favorite is "stormchasers" this movie takes you to the great plains and shows you the twister. It follows groups of ordinary people doing unordinary things, chasing tornados. And finally my last favorite is "dolpins: the ride" Ive always loved dolpins, but imax and the voice of pierce brosnan help make this documentary a true master piece. I highly recommend this dvd. It is truly wonderful and a great addition to your dvd collection.

Interesting and Entertaining morality tale

The first time I saw "The Devil's Advocate" I found myself glancing at my watch. But because certain lines from the film haunted me two years after the initial viewing ie "Behold! I send you out as sheep among the wolves" I decided that the film merited a second viewing.
It really isn't a crime for a film to be overlong, and this is really "The Devil's Advocate"'s only flaw.
Pacino gives a tour de force performance, delivering his lines with typical Pacino-esque vigor. Reeves is good in this role as a seemingly consciousless lawyer. But the real highlight to me was the brilliant performance of Charleze Theron. Wow. She was brilliant in "Boy's Don't Cry" and "The Astronaut's Wife" but in this film she really smokes as Reeve's wife who appears to be losing her mind....
The film is never really scary, but does have creepy shocks, and interesting effects.
This is a very well written intelligent movie, and is not just another Rosemary's Baby/End of Days/Omen clone about the coming of the Antichrist. The film will cause you to question the nature of right and wrong, and what the consequences may be when you think only of yourself.

Doesn't get much better than this....

And I mean that, this is one of my favorite movies of all time. I highly recommend it to anyone, but especially to ganster movie lovers. Although this isn't really a "gangster movie", it does appeal to the same crowd. Great movie, and really good acting from DeNiro as Travis. This is one of the greatest movies of all time, please do yourself a favor and buy a copy!

A fitting tribute to one wild cat

Great review of this jazz master's career, from New Orleans, to New York (where he penned the immortal "Sing, Sing, Sing") and on to his later triumph as a Vegas showman. His gift, and his gab, are clearly on display here through archive footage and kinetoscopes of early TV appearances with Keely Smith. Loaded with interviews, photos, recordings and rare films. If you think you knew about Louis Prima, this documentary will open your eyes. Among some of the funniest moments are some footage of Louis recording the Disney tune "I wanna be just like you" for THE JUNGLE BOOK. A great film about one of the 20th Century's great jazz artists.

Donnie Darko - movie DVD cover picture

This is one of the weirdest, most original films that I have seen in a long time! I won't go into detail about the plot, since many other reviewers have already done just that, but I will tell you something else: YOU WILL BE FREAKED OUT!
The acting, direction, and musical score are all top notch. Jake Gyllenhaal gives his best performance since "October Sky", and Jena Malone and Patrick Swayze are great, also.
This film is not for everyone, but for those of you who liked "Vanilla Sky", "Memento", and "Requiem for a Dream", this is most definitely a treat! I liked this film a lot!

National Lampoon Makes a FUNNY "Vacation" movie again!!!!

This was a GREAT comedy movie!!! I've seen every Vacation movie there is, and every one is funny in its own way. This one is full of laughs and VERY funny moments.
Instead of traveling(like in every other "Vacation" movie)The Griswalds are going to invite the whole family over and have a "Fun-filled old fashioned family Christmas".. NOT!! Every thing goes wrong... They get tailed by two thugs while driving out of town to get their christmas tree which is taller than their living room ceiling, Clarke puts in money ahead of time for a swimming pool, Clarke(Chevy Chase) puts 2,500 lights on his roof, and so on.
Then the realitives arrive, bearing arguments and family fights. And then Cousin Eddy(Randy Quaid)comes and surprises every one and "shacks up with them." I don't want to give the whole movie away(especially the GREAT ending..)so I'll stop there.
I own this movie and have watched it over 50 times, and I laugh EVERY time! I highly reccommend buying this movie, it's worth the $....(This is definently better than Chase's Fletch or Funny Farm.)

a hilarious comedy - finally on DVD!

"BIG BUSINESS" is one of the greatest comedies ever made. Boasting full-tilt performances by comic geniuses Lily Tomlin and Bette Midler, it is a fantastic film.
The story concerns two sets of twins who were mixed up at birth; the city super-rich Sadie and Rose Shelton, and Jupiter Hollow country folk Sadie and Rose Ratliff. When the Shelton's company Moramax decides to stripmine Jupiter Hollow, the two Ratliff twins journey to New York in order to attend the annual stockholder's meeting and kick up a big fuss.
All the action takes place at the world-famous Plaza Hotel; the film is a delightful throwback to the screwball comedies of the 30's with the opening and shutting of doors, etc). The cast includes Edward Herrmann, Mary Gross and Fred Ward in fine supporting roles, though the spotlight is always on Lily (Rose Shelton and Rose Ratliff) and Bette (Sadie Shelton and Sadie Ratliff).
Two thumbs up!
The DVD includes a trailer for "Spy Hard". (Single-layer, single-sided disc).

The best all-around western

I am a die-hard westerns fan and I must have every title from Unforgiven to How the West Was Won. However this is one of the best. It combines, humor, great acting and outrageous gunfighting scenes. I have this on VHS & DVD. A must to any type of movie collector.
