==============* DVD Episode List *==============
Episode 27 - Out of the Past (Part 1) Episode 28 - Out of the Past (Part 2) Episode 44 - Nightcrawler Episode 58 - The Lotus and the Steel
Bonus Episode:Episode 13 - The Final Decision
========* Synopsis *========<Out of the Past (Part 1)>Wolverines former love, Yuriko, comes to seek revenge because she thinks he caused her fathers death.
<Out of the Past (Part 2)>The X Men stop Yuriko from killing Wolverine.
<Nightcrawler>Gambit, Rogue, and Wolverine take a ski trip in Germany for some much-needed R & R. While Gambit and Rogue seem to be enjoying themselves, Wolverine is restless, and longs for some action. When he hears reports of a demon hiding in a local monastery, his investigation reveals not a demon, but a mutant, Nightcrawler, whose devilish appearance is in stark contrast to his peaceful and deeply philosophical nature. While the X-Men convince the townsfolk not to fear what they do not understand, Wolverine, too, learns something about the nature of faith.
<The Lotus and the Steel>Wolverine, losing control, quits the X-Men to return to rural Japan, site of happier times, in an effort to find himself. He works peacefully with a former spiritual teacher, the monk Oku, to build a temple. But the neighboring village is about to be attacked by bandits, led by the merciless Silver Samurai, unless payment is made. Some of the villagers want to resist, and ask Wolverine for help. Wolverine is torn. This is just the sort of thing he had wanted to leave behind. Meanwhile, Jubilee, blaming herself for Wolverine's abrupt departure, is searching rural Japan for him.
<The Final Decision>Recovering from their initial battle with the X-Men, Gyrich and Trask have resumed Project Wideawake by creating the ultimate Sentinel: the Master Mold, a walking factory capable of creating Sentinel robots at an assembly-line pace. The X-Men must join with their oldest nemesis, Magneto, to destroy the Master Mold and prevent the extermination of all mutantkind.

Where gen-x television truly began

This pilot episode is a must for a fashion retrospective (Shannen Doherty is pale even for a character who was transplanted from Minnesota!...but do not spend any time looking for Luke Perry. He was not an original cast member when this series first aired.
Perry had originally read for the part of Steve Sanders (which was eventually given to Ian Ziering)and failed to recieve that part. Casting was however impresed enough to create the role of Dylan McKay and call Perry back for the first season. Thank goodness for second chances because I ultimately believe that Perry/Dylan McKay provided the all-critical drama/humor balance critical to drawing mass audiences during the first years of this series.
Nitpicking aside, because the pilot is frequently unaired in favor of the seasons which initially made the show a household name, purchasing this DVD is good for retrospective sakes. Giving viewers a general idea of what the series will be about...although there is markedly less soap than contained in future seasons (especially the 'college' and 'adult' years of the same series)...the pilot is important for any 90210 fan.
I also agree buying this particular DVD would place pressure on the network to eventually release all the seasons. I find it frustrationg that so many 'flash in the pan' teen series are being released at a faster rate than the milestone show which started everything.

Good Charlotte rules!!!!!!

This was an awesome DVD!! for all of you GC Fans This DVD is a must!! Cuz if you just barely started liking GC and havent seen all their videos then this is what you should get cuz it has all the videos from Little Things To The Young & The Hopeless and has an extra video of The Click. I Totally love GC and what they represent and theyre not afraid to be themselves they are just regular goffy-silly-guys who are in a rock band and do what they love and that is make music. i think the message that they send in their music is to just be yourselves and to be the best you can be at whatever it is that youre doing whether its you know workin on your own band and following in your favorite bands foot steps or just working on whatever it is that you love doing and want it to become your all day job. Just like Good Charlotte they went from having nothing and could only afford clothes and food to having nice clothes with their own record label and clothing lines and making music they love for themselves and for us. Good Charlotte's Joel Madden Benji Madden Billy Martin Paul Thomas and Chris Wilson are PERFECT role models for people that love their music and are inspired by them. Good Charlotte is the perfect band and they love their fans just as much as their fans love them. But GC just might love their fans more because if it werennt for us ( the fans) then they wouldnt be where they are today. If it werent for us They would be nothing and they wouldnt be able to do what they love and inspire other people and tell them that they can DREAM and do whatever they want to do with their life. GC is the perfect inspiration. USE GC AS INSPIRATION!!! ya ok bye

Lovely DVD additions part

This is a "small big movie" with many nuances, great actors and lovely scenery - all adding up to make this a unique experience. A story of lonely people who find out it is easier to be lonely with other people...The story of Finibar Mcbride (Peter Dinklage), a dwarf, is presented in short scenes, revealing his story without using many words, just bringing small details which make up his life story. One of the opening scenes shows Finn working at the "Golden Spike", a train repair store. A child walks in and is surprised to see the short Finn. His surprised reaction is only the first of many reactions to be revealed to the viewers and there comes a point when these reactions are hard on the viewer just as they are on Finn and one can understand his need to build a "protective shield" against the world . These reactions also build up our understanding of the bar scene further on through the movie. The store owner, who by small gestures is understood to be protective towards Finn is part of the secluded secure world Finn has created for himself. Not a lot of talk (one of the "deleted scenes" shows a lunch scene where each one sits alone and reads his newspaper), mutual love for trains and a regular fixed day pattern. This pattern is shattered when the store owner dies and leaves Finn a train station in the New Jersey rural area. This is the beginning of a new life for Finn who unwillingly finds himself dragged to a new friendship with two characters. Olivia Harris (the great Patricia Clarkson with whom I fell in love in "Pieces of April"), a woman trying to overcome a loss and Joe Oramas (Bobby Cannavale) a young talkative character whose coffee stand is just near Finn's new house. The building of the relationship and eventually a small change in Finn is brought about by small details and touching moments.
My "movie experience" was profoundly enriched by the additions part of the DVD which really gives you a better understanding of the movie and the characters. Sort of a further layer of understanding. I really enjoyed the deleted scenes part, amongst which I would like to mention a scene which is a different ending for the movie. This beautiful scene shows Joe and Olivia sitting reading next to Finn's house (Finn is missing from this scene) and discussing Finn's purchase of a mobile phone and Joe's father which has returned to work. This scene is done in the same style of the real ending scene (giving some optimistic hope for the future) but also showing a glimpse of Olivia's better mental state (she is going to have her brother and his kids for the weekend). These deleted scenes were a real pleasure to watch. Another feature which I immensely enjoyed is a viewing of the movie with the comments of the director and the three main characters. First of all I liked to hear the conversation between the actors and to be a participant to their private jokes . This discussion is especially entertaining as the good chemistry amongst the three is very evident and includes Patricia's clarkson giggles and laughs and a very large part of the internal "behind the scenes atmosphere" which I believe is typical of a low budget movie such as this one. The team discusses a lot of "on the spot" decisions, changes and additions due to technical problems. It was interesting to hear about the enormous help received from friends (who did their parts for free, so I understand) and to see the point of view of those from within (the director for example was very concerned that the letter received by Finn did not resemble a real bill). I think I could really understand how the parts were really shaped up by the characters. I was also touched by their comments or silence, such as the director telling us how Patricia Clarkson was glad to end her scenes "inside the house", as they were so intense.

Best Star Trek movie

This movie is a big knockout with sourround sound. I like Star Trek and I like the next generation show the best. This beats all star trek movies. Patrick Stewart really did great and so did Data. The borg queen made Data act very different. The most famous line in the movie is by Worf which is " Perhaps today is a good day today". That is classic. I love the scfi movies where they go into space life. Even if you don't care for Star Trek very much this is still a must see film. This probaly had the most action out of all the star trek movies and also has some comedy relief in it. There are more dramatic star trek movies than this but that's okay. The dvd was great and far better than the first dvd of this. It has a quality picture. Patrick Stewart was terrible in X-men and he knows that Star Trek was the best thing that he ever acted in and everybody knows that. So if you like scfi movies then buy it. God bless you and have a great day.

The Fly

David Cronenberg's 8th movie THE FLY, a remake of the 50's sci-fi classic, was his greatest box office achievement. The original script, penned by no other Mel Brooks, had passed Cronenberg's eyes along with Top Gun, Beverly Hills Cop, and Total Recall. Cronenberg decided to take on THE FLY. The transformation of Brundell Fly in the movie is not only grotesque, but extremely believable. And this what Cronenberg does best. He gets you to suspend your disbelief. THE FLY, falling middle ground as far as Cronenberg goes is a little more mainstream than his other attemots. This movie, however will be enjoyed by all horror and sci-fi types, not exclusive to Cronenberg fans.

Dancer in the Dark (New Line Platinum Series) - movie DVD cover picture

This was definitely a heartwrenching, tragic story. Hats off to Bjork for not portraying Selma, but BECOMING Selma, for drawing out sympathy, pity, frustration, sadness, anger...but also respect for a woman moving from valley to valley, yet still managing somehow to allow her love for her son to keep her head up. One can't help but wish her life was like her musical daydreams--vibrant and beautiful. Evil wore a new face--one created from desperation, pride, and fear of rejection--in the character of Bill, who, at one point, I had to keep myself from screaming at on the TV screen. At the end of the movie, I found myself weeping, as if Selma were my friend who just got a raw deal in life. Even after the last closing credit scrolled up the screen, I was still crying.
Rarely does a film touch my heart so intensely (i.e. "The Color Purple", "Steel Magnolias"). I can now add "Dancer in the Dark" to that elite class of cinematic art.
