This movie is a lost gem

The changeling is easily one of the scariest movies of all time. The houses atmosphere is unreal. The music is downight sinister. The seance scene is horrifying. The scene when George C. Scott plays back his recorder is guaranteed to send a shiver down you're spine.I can't give everything away. With great acting all around and plenty of terrific scares I consider this one of the top horror movies ever.Truly scary.

Start The Revolution Without Me - movie DVD cover picture
Can I help it if I have this huge stride....look at it Man!

This hilarious comedy takes the story of the Corsican Brothers and fractures it with two sets of mismatched twins, both played by Donald Sutherland and Gene Wilder, one set raised as the noble brothers, the other as peasants. Throw in the France of Louis XVI just before the revolution and you've got the setting for this totally screwball comedy.
Bud Yorkin & Norman Lear (of All in the Family) directed and produced and added a cast of the best English comedians to their two stars, Sutherland & Wilder. This includes: Hugh Griffith as the befuddled King; Billie Whitelaw as a randy Marie Antoinette; Victor Spinetti as the reptilian Count Escargot; Jack MacGowran as the seedy Revolutionary amongst others. Oh, and Ewa Aulin (she played Candy) is delicious.
When Gene Wilder goes nuts, no one can match him for hilarity. As the arrogant, pigheaded, lightning-tempered Corsican nobleman he is just simply wonderful. Sutherland's foppish brother is a perfect counterpoint.
There is so much good stuff in this that one could go on at length (the Ball with everyone passing notes of intrigue and the King in his chicken costume is just one). Suffice it to say, they threw in the kitchensink with one-liners, references to Dumas and every kind of swashbuckler, non-sequiters, puns etc.
A crazy madcap just-for-fun all-out comedy. One of the best ever made. A Classic. See it.

Opti-Grab/Mirror Vision by Garry Hixon

I really am the true marketer of the Opti-Grab, I am Garry Hixon of Mirror Vision Inc. and I make a good little fortune selling little gimmicks like this, I'll tell you what, whoever you are that invented this, if I make any money from it, I'll give you half, you probably have a patend on it right? No one could have one because it has been revealed, people will buy anything, look out for my 0-iron golf club, the first club with absolutely no loft at all. The Opti-Grab by Garry Hixon, I like the sound of that! Why couldnt I sell it! I know people would buy it and it would be so easy to do! Look out for the opti grab, the optigrab by Garry Hixon, will be in sunglass stores soon! This is a good movie, its about this guy who has the opti grab, and Garry Hixon brings it to market, it becomes real, and I make millions, but I dont lose it because I'm not the jerk , I'm Cinderella, the real Cinderella story, God bless you Steve Martin, love Garry Hixon, Mirror Vision Inc.

Outstanding

This movie not only addresses the tragedy and patriotism of those of served our country in WWII, but in brings to light the discrimination that was also a very real part of the existence of our black american heroes. This movie is not what I originally feared it would be, a typical portrayl of the oppresive white man keeping the black man down. It showed the courage and tenacity of a group of Americans (in the case African Americans) who fought and died for their country in the war to end all wars. The storyline follows a group of black pilots who not only bring honor and pride to themselves, but their country. They lived the motto, "My country, right or wrong, my country." It didn't matter that these men were discriminated against because they were black, they did the job that had to be done and they did it well. What more can we ask of any American? Watch this movie for the accurate history it portrays, not only in the struggle for equality in our country, but for all the guts and glory of those fighting men we owe our very freedom to today. God bless America.

If this guy played fair, he wouldn't survive the series

Absolutely hilarious!!! Gokudo only has two wishes, "I want all the money and all the hot babes of the world all to myself!" He gets turned into a woman, an old man, a woman again, a baby, and back again. This greedy, backstabbing, pervert beats the bad guys for one reason, HE'S WORSE. The fact that he is an unbeatable swordsman helps. One of the many running gags in the series is that Gokudo breaks the foulest wind in human existance. It not only clears taverns, but counters magic spells and rouses tempermental goddesses. His dealings with the oni Ikyuo are equally hilarious. I originally bought this series on VHS and this is the excuse I have been looking for to get it on DVD!

Wonderful Movie!!

Recently my co-leader of a local Grange and I, took 10 of our youngsters to see this movie. I was very impressed to find a movie such as this that I could enjoy with the youth. We need more clean, non violent movies such as this that the whole family can enjoy. I applaude the movie. Patty Swing. Lex. N. C.

A genuine classic ...

A hilarious romantic comedy about two "squares" who somehow fall into lust during the 1950's in a secluded coastline get-away. Lust evolves into love and love evolves as their two lives seems inexorably out of phase; she's liberal, he's conservative and then they switch. Through all the turmoil created by current events over the 26 years of the movie's timeline, they remain enchanted with each other once a year as their love and deep respect for each other matures while their "real" lives keeps them intertwined. The characters grow together despite their limited contact. Every year's meeting is a matured relationship started anew.

Alan Alda's acting reflects the happy-go-lucky attitude most associate with his MASH character. Ellyn Burstyn is brilliant. Marvelous acting and a great story line.

This is an absolutely enjoyable movie that you can watch over and over again, enjoying it more with each viewing.
