very cool

Haha. with perhaps one of the funniest introductions,we meet the lecherous monk, Miroku. definately a good buy. The combination of sophisticated humor and slapstick, along with the amazing fight scenes makes Inu-Yasha a truly great show, for those of you who havent started watching yet, hurry up! for the rest, this is an excellent addition to your collection, be warned however, that you need volume 7 to complete the titanic battle between Seshomaru and Inuyasha, that is facilitated by the as yet mysterious Naraku, who we learn has been pulling a lot of strings...

Good for otaku and beginers alike.

Vampire Hunter D is classic anime at its best! Though the animation may not be up to todays standards it still has a flair to it that you will enjoy. I have seen it many times. Though I would suggest seeing it subtitled.

Very Good Series!

I recommend this set for anyone who loves anime. It has a great story to it, and funny too. If your a fan of the series or want to know more about the series, then you should definately buy this DVD. It has excellent animation and sound.
I also love the encyclopedia on the 3rd disk. It has tons of information for people just starting to watch the series or if you just want to know more about it.

Damn you losers for saying its boring!!! Damn you!!! This movie is really really good!!
Ok, enough angst. Seriously, this movie is well made, but isn't for everyone. If you are buying it because you liked the non-stop violence of akira, you will be disappointed. The movie is truly filmmaking at its best. The cinematography is great, especially near the middle. The script combines many literary forms that we dont see in movies too much anymore (plus, its just beautifully written). And its only "slow" to develop the characters, damn it!

Great Gay Independant

This one is a surprise. It has raw cinematography but the emotions run high as we follow three cute guys into three different love scenarios. This pic doesn't play by the rules and is all the better for it. Tons of close-ups on non-made-up actors really pulls the viewer into a unique kind of reality and creates a seriously personal experience. The acting is really first rate all around and the writing is smart and funny too. This is a real diamond in the rough that's worth checking out.

Now this is a real classic.

I saw Tod Browning's other "classic," Dracula, and it was weak, boring and not scary at all. On the other hand, "Freaks," a movie that could never be made today, yet hasn't aged at all in 70 years (except that the strong man is downright puny by today's standards), is powerful, moody and constantly entertaining. Betrayal, revenge, loyalty, love, and some really trippy freaks. What could be better? Ok, the sound quality could be better, but that's about all. And too bad the alternate endings have been lost. "One of us" the freaks say to the lovely but evil trapeze artist, but she's not one of them--she doesn't deserve to be! Definitely one of the all-time greats.

end or begining?

End of Evangelion. Hmmm. Let me say this, after the whole Eva series (even after the odd episodes of 25 & 26), I could not wait to watch the movies. When they finally arrived and I could watch them, I was ready to be on the edge of my seat. I never expected to feel so much disgust and disappointment. My whole week was ruined. How could a series that started out so upbeat and interesting end like this? I loved every one of thopse characters and this was how they treated them. I about had it with the whole Evangelion saga. However, my husband wanted to watch the whole series after I ordered them in the mail. So I watched all of the episodes and movies again with him. Boy did it all make complete sense. My husband of course was completely confused.Regardless, I was finally satisfied and happy about all of it. I could accept the fact that it was all about the beginning of a new era of life. It was all a concept of how the end of the world would be for the human race and how it was up to Shingi to decide on mankind's fate. That was why the angels were trying to get to central dogma. They wanted to join with Lilith and Adam so their their form would continue to exist. There really wasn't much else to it. Yes there were images and phrases that could lead to deeper meaning, but it was really all about another theory on how we may have come to be and how we will continue to exists. It did help listening to the commentary. So if you need some sort of closure on this series, watch the whole series a second time and then view the movie with the commentary.I know a lot of people were pretty disappointed about the movies and how this amazing series ended. Some may be shocked by the nudity and violence. But that is how life is and we come into this world with just our bodies and birth is violent. Made sense that the characters were naked during the final sequence. People need to have open minds when viewing these movies and let go. No need to hold onto reality. That is the beauty of Anime! It never really makes sense in Anime. Enjoy it. It is like Shinji's mother said in the end of this movie, as long as the sun, earth and the moon still exist, it will be okay.
Recommend strongly to a person who enjoys a challenge.

Buffy Season 1

This is a must have if you love Buffy. This picks up where the movie left off. It also introduces everyone so you get to see how everyone came to know that Buffy was the Slayer. The only down point was that the budget was kinda low so there are some really cheesy moments. But other than that it's great.

Stay-at-home mom

We bought this before they even got it on the shelf. I saw a preview on the Disney Channel and it look good. So we went out and got it. It is great!! The main movie teaches the kids about rhyming, sounds letters make, how to make letters and working together. The extras have a cute letter song but the best extra is the how to write your letters and things that start with that letter.
The songs are cute and make you want to dance along with Pooh.
