up and down

the best match of the night was flair vs taker and hogen vs rock the worst match of the night was obviously the undisputed title match between triple h and jericho every time jericho and triple h is in the same ring wrestling the match stinks no wonder they didn't give jericho a rematch for the title because the match blew. anouther thing i like was the hardcore title changeing hands like 8 times just to end up in the same hands as it came in with. i was at wrestlemania X8 i thought it was the best wrestlemania i saw the main event should of been hogan vs the rock but of course there gonna put the championship last match but i guess they learned there leason on X9 putting the austin vs the rock last instead of triple h vs booker t or angle vs lesner and i also have the wrestlemania X8 dvd and i watch at least once a month

Into The Arms Of Strangers - Stories Of The Kindertransport - movie DVD cover picture
IF YOU INTERESTED IN THIS SUBJECT....

Dark, scary times create fear in the hearts of all. They also create moments of light, which shine out in the darkness, bright, illuminating, inspiring. "Into the Arms of Strangers: Stories of the Kindertransport" is a film of such remarkable light, of inspiration, that it even overcomes the horror surrounding them, leaving us speakless, breathless, and without a dry eye.
Told from the point of view of children, "Kindertransport" weaves a narrative of parents, fearing Hitler's evil polciies, choosing to send their children away simply in order to save their lives. From 1938-1939, thousands of children were sent to Britian, in order to live. Survivors recount their trials, their ordeals, the reality of their lives as they left their parents, and is heartbreaking.
Amazingly, some of the people who took in the children were interviewed too. At first as an act of mercy, these people grew to love the children who were merely guests in their homes. One woman breaks down as she recalls the boy she took in leaving her is so incredibly moving, as it happened fifty years ago..
We will never forget what happened. Films such as these will help keep these stories alive for centuries to come. Watch this film, and remember.

Schoolhouse Rock! (Special 30th Anniversary Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
A FUN Educational Tool!

When I saw that Schoolhouse Rock was coming out on DVD, I was immediately taken back to 7th grade American History when our teacher asked if anyone knew the Preamble to the Constitution. I raised my hand and stood up and recited the entire thing. My teacher was very impressed and said that I had it down perfectly, except that it wasn't actually a song. That was news to me! As a mother I thought back on that day and realized the educational value of these little songs that pack so much important information, and I just had to treat my kids to the fun.

Hellboy (Two-Disc Special Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
hellboy

HELLBOY was a phenominal movie. From the opening scene, one of the best opening scenes to any action movie to date, it introduces you to the highly dangerous villains in the movie and introduces you to the things to be expected in the next 2 hours.
Visually, Hellboy is amazing. The moment that the movie introduces Abe Sapien, you realize you're watching something groundbreaking. His character design is so realistic, it is breathtaking. The makeup department needs to be WORSHIPED... oh, by the way... RICK BAKER mean anything to you..? Yeah.
Ron Perlman was fantastic as Hellboy. Excellent casting.
Lets not forget one of the coolest villains ever. Kroenen is an assassin who had been studying the Occult and the black arts longs before WWII, becomes a Nazi. Kroenen is a master with the swords. He is also experiencing unnaturally long life, hench his decaying features that he must cover with multiple masks and shields.
This movie is phenominal action and visuals, but one thing pains me. As good as this movie was. As cool as this movie was. One thing made me change from 5 stars to 3 stars...
The ending was just plain dull. As good as the first 4/5 of the movie was, the ending seemed second rate and made me forget how great the rest of the movie was.
I loved the movie, I just wish the ENDING were HALF as good as the BEGINNING.

The Lord of the Rings - The Motion Picture Trilogy (Special Extended DVD Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
As close to perfection as you're gonna get.

If you want the basic story of Lord of the Rings as in Frodo carries the ring of power to Mordor and Aragorn becomes King of Gondor. Then the theatrical versions of these films will do. If you want to immerse yourself in the world of Middle Earth, learn more about the characters, and have a better understanding of the film then The Extended Versions are the only ones you need.

For those of you who have seen both the theatrical and extended versions then there should be no debate as to what the superior versions are. Every extended version is a vast improvement over it's theatrical counterpart. So much so that they render the theatrical versions unwatchable. Would you rather read The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R Tolkien or by Cliff Notes?

I'll be the first to admit that there are added scenes in all three extended versions that do not necessarily move the plot foward, but they give you more insight into the characters and world of Middle Earth.

The Lord of the Rings is the motion picture event of the century. The theatrical versions of these films on their own are truly remarkable. The extended versions improve on the theatrical versions in every way.

ST:TNG Season One on DVD

The long awaited arrival of ST:TNG on DVD has arrived. This is much more than just "watching the episodes." ST:TNG became an instant favorite for a lot of people. While it does cost ..., it is well worth it. This is the Collector's edition. What good would buying Seasons 3-7 be without having the first two seasons? You wouldn't have a complete set, and it would be worth less money in the long run.
Take Mark McGuire for instance.. he shattered the alltime home run record in 1998. People rush out and buy Mark McGuire collectable stuff. Anywhere from signed pictures, to T-Shirts. Three years later, Barry Bonds breaks his home run record. The people still have Mark McGuire collectable stuff that is already hard to find.
It's sort of like that. You can't be a collector without the entire set.
Enjoy the DVDs if you do watch it!

Andy Goldsworthy's Rivers & Tides - movie DVD cover picture
Exquisite revelations.

Andy Goldwsorthy has a unique and fascinating way of relating to the natural world. By living and feeling his surroundings intimately, he discovers things about naturally occurring materials that are invisible to the majority, and exploits these qualities to make beautiful environmental sculptures using techniques and designs susceptible to an infinite range of variations. Although he seems inclined to be a recluse, he is also very articulate about his art, and his narration adds much to the film. There is some clever editing, such as showing images of a ram with its large curling horns, which are phenomenally well mimicked by Goldsworthy's curved assemblages of chestnut leaves, held together only with thorns. In fact, I thought I was looking at a ram's horn until I watched him assemble a chestnut sculpture in one of the short extra features (which are well worth watching). The cinematography and soundtrack are also lovely, fully worthy of Goldsworthy's magnificent and visionary meditation on nature.

The Haunting - movie DVD cover picture
Positively ...

... the most horrifying film I've ever seen (and I've said this for nearly 40 years now!). I've hated horror films since I was a child. The Haunting" is no exception, except -- I also love it.
I've found, whenever I see a film (or play) adapted from a book I've read, I'm usually somewhat disappointed because what I'm shown is not as (good/beautiful/horrifying ...) as what the author's words triggered in my mind at the time I read them. Robert Wise, with "The Haunting," succeeds so well where other less adept directors fail or offer pap as art precisely because he allows the viewer his own perceptions, and trust me -- there's nothing scarier than what's in YOUR mind.

The Elephant Man - movie DVD cover picture
The most powerful and artistic work Lynch!

David Lynch has signed his masterpiece in the story of the cinema with this splendid and towering movie .
A sad and poignant film about a deformed man employed for an unscrupulous mercenary as a freak attraction , he will be rescued from this unending nightmare and he will prove the whole world that behind that uggly face it lives a human being , He is not an animal , reminds Hurt to the irrational crowd in an awful chase sequence as he was a beast .
Why did not John Hurt win all the possible prizes in the world for this titanic and unique performance ? It is just a mistery .
The film still keeps its expressive force and charm .
Bancroft and Hopkins are in the top . Superb edition , scorching direction , beautifully filmed in glorious black and white .
A timeless winner film.
