Death in Venice - movie DVD cover picture
slow moving but, scenery worth it

While this was a very slow paced movie, I found the scenery very beautiful and worth viewing. Both the city and water scenes, as well as young Bjorn. While it takes forever to get anywhere with the slow plot, the gradual interest and interaction between man and boy are interesting. (I think it would have been nice to see at least one conversation between the two.) I was confused by the ending, and one other time when he touches Tadzio's hair. Was that real or a day dream thing. Truly, a unique movie and the boy was a very nice looking kid. Whether you are "intersted" in boys or not, you can't deny his beauty. Also, if you just want to "see Venice" this slow paced film is worth viewing. Thank goodness for fast-forward. All in all, the film is worth seeing.

Good Times - The Complete Fifth Season - movie DVD cover picture
THe best season

I have all the good times DVD's, but the best thing I like about the show is not the comedy or the nostalgia; it is the controversial and political subjects that the show has portrayed over all the seasons. From the subjects of drug use, gang violence, and especially the way the fourth season carried on without the patriarch of the family, and how the family struggled more but grew stronger. Season five has the best of all these seasons combined, that is, when they brought the subject of child abuse, single parenthood and adoption of children to poor people in a five part continuing story of the new girl in the neighborhood(PLayed By Janet Jackson)and her abusive mother and how Wilona (Ja'net Dubois) save her from this horrible situation. I think of all the topics of Mr. Norman Lears Television shows during the seventies, this particular story stayed with me the most. I watched it when I was a child, and it still has the same profound impact on me today as it did when I first seen it on TV. My friend who has never seen the show being from another country who watches it with me frequently, agrees that this is one of the most underrated TV shows in TV history. THese issues are as important today as they were thirty years ago.

Sarah is Great on DVD

Overall the DVD was great, very good video. The sound does not appear to be true Dolby Digital, however the sound was good enough. NO SUBTITLE option which makes it nice if you are not familiar with the words. Sarah was great, the songs were very good. I would buy it again.

A MOVIE TO REMEMBER :)

As a kid growing up in the 80's I was blessed to have the most obnoxious and lame movies to be ever produced, stories that went in the way of the unnexpected and funny turn outs. This movie Aventures in Babysitting was one of those. How do you explain such a clever done movie, with classical scenes, like the HOOK, or the hanging in the BUILDING, or singin' the BLUES, or even the geeky girlfriend without the glasses, and well she only wanted a hot dog, but the check was not good. This is going to be a funny movie that will always bring me back to my childhood. Amazing...hey an who knew Shue will portrait such serious parts after... *****FIVE STARS.

One of My Favorite British Comedies

This movie is slightly like a movie called Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. I love movies like that. This movie is not only a funny action packed, thrilling adventure, it's also an intelligent one. Snatch has a lot of famous people in it and by the end of the movie you'll be admiring the characters and repeating your favorite lines. Let's just say this is worth the 6 dollars

Tin Men - movie DVD cover picture
A Unique Film, a Funny Film, with Terrific Performances.

From the period-piece opening scene, with the silky voice of Nat King Cole crooning as the camera affectionately caresses the curves of a new, early sixties Cadillac, to the end of the film, when the furiously feuding Richard Drefus and Danny Devito are finally pushed into mutual forgiveness, this film stands alone. There is no other comedy, romantic or otherwise, to which this one can be compared. It has a feel of its own, a fluidity of movement from farce to irony to romance to (just the right touch of) tragedy.
The depiction of early sixties Baltimore is superb. The fact that the abundance of Cadillacs is just a little over-played actually adds to the delightful whackiness of this wonderful film.
Terrific performances by Barbara Hershey, Richard Drefus, Danny Devito -- and, above all, the British-born actor, John Mahoney, make this film a treat at every viewing. Mahoney, whom no one would ever identify as anthing other than 100 percent American in looks and in voice, almost steals the show with his portrayal of Moe, Drefus's patient partner in scam.
Technically, "Tin Men" is a masterpiece of editing. Example: when Devito's character smashes his adversary's Cadillac windows, we see each blow to each window just as the crowbar crashes through the glass -- we don't see the assailant walking around the car; we don't see his back-swing -- just one crowbar blow after another, viewed from inside the car, with Devito's delightfully wicked expression of glee behind each frame. Bang bang bang. It's brilliant.
I think this is a very underrated and under-appreciated film. I'd recommend it to anyone.

One Of The Greatest Film's Of The 90'es

Tim Roth's The War Zone is one of the most brutaly honest films ever made its depection of abuse are some of the most disturbing images ever cought on screen I don't want to give away the film's story and truth. I will only say that this is proubly the sadest movie ever made. This film is a adults only film if this film want throght the MPAA it would of defentily got a NC-17 rating its been realesed unrated the film's images are some of the most shocking to date. Tim Roth's direction is nothing short of astonshing the cinematography by Seamos Mcgarvey is some of the best in history this film is by far one of the greatest film's ever made. Anyone who see's the movie those thing happen and it needs to stop.
Warning: this film is unrated do to an extremely graphic prolonged perverse sex sequence including graphic nudity, strong language, violence, graphic adult thems, and disturbing images. This film is for adult's only.

Making history

The very concept of an extended edition is awesome. Peter Jackson has set a new standard for future DVDs. The Two Towers Extended edition is much better that The Fellowship. It is by far the best DVD I have ever seen. It fills all the missing points of the theatrical version. Buy it and enjoy it!
