piano and sea...

these 2 words is enough to explain that how a piano film idea could be really interesting than the others. And "no words only notes" with outstanding female actor performance in an unusual ambience. Wonderful.

Welcome to Sherwood, my lady!

Errol Flynn is the definitive Robin Hood, indeed! This glorious Technicolor swashbuckler from 1938 is such a joyous and entertaining film. Everything in this movie is top-notch, from the cast to the cinematography to the musical score. What more can I say? Well, I have to say that I love the greens in the Technicolor photography. They look so lush, vibrant, colorful, and awe-inspiring, especially in the Sherwood Forest. There's also some moments of humor in the movie, just like in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" or any other action/adventure film. Even over 60 years later, this movie still dazzles and brings joy to any movie lover, including myself.

The Doll(Lady Chablis) steals the show!

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is my favorite Clint Eastwood movie, because it's a great drama without the cowboys. I did allow this film to take me all the way south, because after seeing it, I had to go see the scenery, culture, the Bird Girl, and the Doll(Lady Chablis). Unfortunately, the Doll was out of town when I went to the now famous Club One.
The movie is based on a book written by John Berent which was based on a true story, so it was wise that Eastwood had cast The Doll to play herself, because no real actor or actress or even other Black drag queens could become The Doll. She's glamourous, sassy, fearless, dramatic, full of wit and uncompromising! There was plenty of chemistry between John Cusack(the writer) and her.
Kevin Spacey was very meticulous and convincing as a closeted gay man with much power and wealth and a thing for the not yet famous Jude Law(a rebellious boytoy again since Wilde), who was impressive with a southern accent. Spacey killed him, because he was sleeping around and doing drugs. He confessed in court that he did it in self-defense.
John Cusack arrived from out of town to investigate the story for a magazine, and the first person he connected with was The Lady Chablis also listed in the phone book as F. for Frank, and he didn't know that she was a pre-op transsexual. It was funny when The Doll got into Cusack's car after she visited the clinic, she said," Ooh, I think the shots are kicking in!" And Cusack had no idea what the bleep she was on. She dazzles and fascinates him with her story and her flirtatious moves.
Cusack meets a "witch"(Irma Hall) who had psychic power and told him about good and evil behind the murder case, and that the dead boytoy will make Spacey pay for his death, even if he was to be released for not guilty....
This was a great murder mystery, and I really enjoyed watching The Doll dancing with John Cusack and the courtroom scene as well. Too bad she didn't even get a best supporting actor or actress nomination. Her character is memorable on the same scale as Jade Davison in The Crying Game.

Do not listen to the idiots who say this movie sucks.

Enough of the kids who expect every high school movie to be exactly like American Pie and Road Trip. Those kids will never be able to watch anything else.

Napoleon Dynamite is about the "life" of Napoleon, his goofy brother and friends. Its about how they live it and the simple craziness that goes on that makes this movie unbelievably funny. If you want to see that American Pie guy nutting in a beer cup, get something else.

This is a movie for people who have matured from lame high school comedies about sex, beer and being an idiot to something with character and longevity.

Astounding! I'd recommend it to any age...

Not since Koyanaskazi have I seen such beauty. Uplifting, thought provoking, and beautiful. This movie manages to get viewers to think about this wonderful, diverse world with cinematography that is unparralelled in most other movies I've seen, and all without speaking. A visual journey that you'll want to take again and again. After seeing it, I would have gladly paid double the price. The music is perfectly timed to the scenes, and the combination makes for a wonderful experience for the senses. This one's a must for anyone looking for something out of the ordinary, something that delights the mind, ears and eyes. Get it, you'll not regret the decision.

So much more complex than the previous 2

Not the classic that Night Of The Living Dead was. Not as fearsome as Dawn Of The Dead. But still the third best zombie movie out there.
Anchor Bay programmed the running time in for this version, unlike their Dawn Of The Dead.

The Greatest Unknown Movie of All Time

Every once in awhile Hollywood lets a true gem of a movie slip beneath the radar and into obscurity. Thankfully, the video market has started to recognize the genius of Troy Duffy's masterpiece.
The Boondock Saints tells the story of Murphy and Connor McManus, two Irish brothers, orphaned at a young age, and living in a poor Boston neighborhood. An altercation with the Russian mob results in the brothers seemingly receiving a message from God - "Destroy that which is evil, so that which is good may flourish." Their subsequent crusade results in a moral conflict for the authorities, the community, and the viewers - Is killing in the name of "Good" morally correct? Watch, and decide.

Action, Fantasy, and Romance - What's not to love?

The story revolves around a "little" farmer named Willow Ufgood (Warwick Davis). Willow finds an abandoned baby. According to an ancient prophecy, the baby will grow to put a stop to the evil reign of Queen Bavmorda ( Jean Marsh). Since Willow was the one to find the child, he is selected by his village to go on a journey to deliver the baby to safety. Now with only a single swordsman named Madmartigan ( Val Kilmer)at his side, Willow must overcome the the Queen's evil forces of darkness, and keep the baby safe at all costs...
With the acception of the Lord of the Ring films, " Willow" has to be the best fantasy film I have ever seen. The story itself is outstanding. Watching a man of Willow's size have to overcome numerous obstacles, is really inspiring. The film also offers non stop action, and tons of laughs. The special effects are out of this world. Especially with all of the sorcery, the two headed dragon, and all of the other creatures. It is all amazing to see. The acting is great all around. Warwick Davis ( known for his role as the Leprechaun), really shines here. He shows fierce courage, determination, and unending love for the baby. Madmartigan might be one of Kilmer's best roles ever. He is courageous, great with the sword, and extremely funny. Joanne Whalley does a nice job a Sorsha. The chemistry between her and Kilmer is outstanding. The two eventually became married in real life. Kevin Pollack and Rick Overton are hillarious as the "Brownie Soldiers" and provide for most of the film's laughs. But the best performance hands down came from Jean Marsh as Queen Bavmorda. The first time I saw this film as a little kid, she really gave me the creeps. She is still just as dipisable today, as she was then! Outstanding performance!! Ron Howard did a great job with directing the rest of the little people in the film too. They came together and really made Willow's village seem believeable.
"Willow" is definately at the top of the Fantasy genre. The story involves one small man overcoming the odds, the special effects are incredible, the action is non stop, the film is extremely funny, and all of the performances are great. Watching this film, is a great way to spend a couple of hours. The DVD makes the film even better. You get two featurettes, a behind the scenes gallery, and a lot more. Definately a must own!!!
