just saw it on tv

I just saw it on TV and it just made me want more! Only half the show (if that) was broadcast on tv. I've heard some of the 2004 Japan shows, but they didn't include the new songs, I also liked the inclusion of the brass and the violin, it sounded really cool. Can't wait for this, have had it pre-ordered since it went up here :)

There Are Two Things You Cannot Say

1. "I am sleeping"2. "I hated 'The In-Laws'"Many rave reviews have already been written about this comic classic, with many of the same observations that I have regarding same - but on the eve of the official opening of the remake of 'The In-Laws' I felt compelled to encourage anyone who has not seen the original with Peter Falk, Alan Arkin and Richard Libertini, to get to the local rental shack and make up a batch of Orville's. You're going to laugh your little tushie off. Guaranteed.P.S. Good luck to Michael Douglas and Albert Brooks on the remake. And you thought Shaq had big shoes? - T.L.

Give me that old time religion!

Gary Cooper's first Academy Award winning performance (his other award was earned from "High Noon") is in one of the most memorable films to come out of Hollywood. World War I had been one of the most unpopular wars ever fought by the United States. Even though President Woodrow Wilson promised to keep the country out of the war, the pressures to enter were just too great. Even near the war's conclusion in 1918, uncertainty about the outcome of the conflict was quite prevalent; the United States was in need of a hero to keep the morale up. This film is based on the true life story of Alvin York, a Tennessee native who at first objected to his induction into the army due to religious beliefs. This gifted sharpshooter played a significant role in helping to win the war for the Allies. This film has everything needed to be a cinematic classic whose popularity will endure for generations to come.

My Most Favourite Movie Of All Time

The film Cry-baby has been since the first day I watched it the best movie I have ever seen. I watch it over and over again and can lip the entire movie. I am excited that it has come out on DVD because now I don't have to rely on my VHS and count on it to play one more time, it is all worn out. Certainly the best movie ever made, it is a must!

I'm glad I wasn't talked out of buying this

A person I know told me that Angel Season 5 wasn't worth watching. I took a chance and all week I have been giving thanks that I didn't listen to him. I think this is the best season of the series. Fred and Wesley's dieing sceens in both "A Hole in the World" and the last episode were some of the best that I have ever seen done on film or TV. Charisma Carpenter was at her best in "You're Welcome." "Harm's Way" and "Smile Time" were both a lot of fun. Those are my favorites but the whole season was very good with a lot of good acting on the actors' part coupled with good stories and directing. My only regret is that since I don't have regular TV I have to wait for the DVD's to come out so I am way behind everyone else in watching and thus miss out on the message boards for the shows but I have not regreted buying all of the Angel and Buffy DVD's. The commentaries and featurettes have been informative and entertaining. As I said I am so glad that I wasn't talked out of buying it and would whole heartedly recommend this DVD set to anyone who asked me.

Finding Nemo (Collector's Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
All ages--climb aboard for this awesome film ride!

Finding Nemo is practically an instant classic; it's a charming tale for the whole family about a nervous father who must go after his son after the son strays and gets taken hostage in a dentist's office. The twist (as you may already know): it's underwater! The father and son are clown fishes; the father (voiced by Albert Brooks) gets help from a blue tang fish named Dory (voiced by Ellen DeGeneres. Although Dory suffers from short term memory loss, she proves to be helpful--mostly--to Marlin, the father, as he swims to Sydney Australia to find his son Nemo. Along the way there's plenty of action as Marlin and Dory encounter sharks that have gone on a vegetarian diet in a 12 step mode, surfing sea turtles and dangerous jellyfish! Of course, this is Disney and Pixar, so Marlin finds Nemo safely in the end and they all go back to the coral reef together. However, so as not to spoil too much of the plot, I won't tell you how Marlin and Nemo become reunited.

The color, animation, and sound are all excellent. I did have to turn up the volume on my remote, however. On one DVD disc there is the full frame version of the movie; on the other DVD disc there is the widescreen version. The discs played well without any problems in my player; and the set is nicely packaged.

The two DVD set is loaded-and I mean loaded--with extras, making this truly a collector's edition! There are commentaries along with deleted scenes, a documentary called Making Nemo about the production and preparation for the final film, virtual aquariums for your TV set, a game called "Fisharades," a very well done semi-documentary called Exploring the Reef with Jean-Michel Cousteau and a short film (both with commentary and without) by Pixar called Knick Knack made in 1989, six years before Toy Story! There is more as well; it's truly awesome and guaranteed to keep all ages entertained.

I would recommend this highly if you are looking for a family type of movie entertainment. It richly deserves more than the maximum five stars Amazon allows me to give! The movie and especially some of the extras about the making of the film are great for fans of computer animation. Seek this movie out and enjoy for years to come! GRIN

Don't expect much on your first viewing. But as the week goes by, you'll find yourself thinking about the lines and cracking up. By your 2nd or 3rd time, you should fairly be hysterical at some of the scenes. I recommend watching it with close friends. I'm amazed at how much this movie resonates in the funny bone.

Inu-Yasha - Down the Well (Vol. 1) - movie DVD cover picture

Well, Inu Yasha is a great series, if you can get into it. ^-^ Also you have to get past the fact that they leave you hanging at the end of some of the episodes, but I find this series is worth buying (except I'm gonna wait for a box set).
One thing that disapointed me about the dvds is that they only put 3 episodes per disk. o_o Considering there are already over 90 episodes in Japan, I figure this is gonna cost me a fortune. Between buying Ranma and Inu Yasha, a person would have to be dishing out quite a bit of cash for their fav. series.
Despite all that, the series is awesome. Sometimes it drags until you get to around the 20th episode, then it picks up.
And pretty much, the anime somewhat follows the manga, though a few sagas that occur in the manga show up much later in the anime, but nonetheless, it is an awesome series with a cool movie to ice the cake.
