an inspiring experience

This is one of my favourites. I think it's by no means profaning or anti-Christian. It's so great to feel that man is actually worth something, that he is REALLY important with all his emotions and fears and doubts (and must not be cursed because of having them). The idea about the angels being bound to obey to God because of their original nature and people being more precious to God because of their ability to make a free-will choice is not a new one, but a very great one. Isn't it great to believe that not only Catholics (Orthodox, Baptist, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist etc.) will be saved? Well, maybe Buddhists do not care that much about salvation, but let's keep it universal :)))))) Isn't it great to feel that God DOES understand us? God is transcendent, God is….. is God, I agree. But we are created in the image and likeness of Him. We are sinful, we are stupid, lying, whatever, but at the same time we are not supposed to spend all our life down on our knees begging for some mercies. We must live, create, love, CHANGE OURSELVES and we must not be afraid of being people. We have so much in ourselves. I've read quite a lot of Christian-inspired literature, starting with Dostoyevsky and Berdyaev and ending with Clive Lewis. One of the most usual feelings that I encountered is the one of the all-embracing suffering that fills our world. Yes, it is there, it's always with us. BUT. It's so great to have fun!! God gave us the sense of humour for some reason, animals do not have it by the way :)))) There's nothing blasphemous about having fun, being happy.
All in all, the film is a great and inspiring experience. I became a fan of Smith's after watching it. All the actors did a very good job. One of the most powerful scenes is when Jay shoots off Bartleby's wings. It's really painful to watch it, and those bleeding stumps afterwards. I would recommend to watch the film at least twice in order to get to the bottom of all of its ideas and hints (and there's a plenty of them!!)

Simply Irresistable

After having worn down my VHS version until it turned black and white, and in the face of my useless email campaign to the producer of Captain Ron to turn it into a DVD, my only regret is that I did not preorder the DVD and have it the first weekend. This movie is simply the best movie in history, next to Vegas Vacation.

Breath-taking vistas and a lump in your throat

A film that was meant to be seen on the big screen is still breath-taking on letter-box format on the small screen.
A tragic accident forces a girl to confront her relationship with her mother and forces her mother to confront her relationship with her husband. The bridge between all the complex emotions and relationships in the film is a traumatized horse that must also overcome phobias related to a tragic accident in which he (the horse) was unable to protect the girl he adores as much as she adores him.
The acting is superb and believable. The mountains, ranges and prairies are unforgettable and the simple yet fulfilling lives of the Montana rancher and his family is something even the most die-hard lover of the big city will crave for themselves.

Some reviewers missed the point

As a former NASA employee building my space video collection,I was attracted to this DVD as a way of catching up on footagethat I had missed out on (being born in 1968).
I was highly pleased with my purchase--many great scenes from multiple Apollo missions. I especially like the video footageof the LM touching down & lifting off!
One other thing--multiple reviewers here have criticized the fact that you will see different astronauts throughout the video. While this certainly IS true (as presumably complete video coverage from any given mission was not available), itdoesn't detract from the beautiful footage taken during the Apollo program.
In summary-- If you want to see the same faces in chronologi-cally appropriate order, rent "Apollo 13". If you want painstaking technical details, read the NASA "Mission Reports".If you want to enjoy REAL video from the moon's surface... buythis DVD!

Don't bother with the dub, get right on down to the subbed!

The dub part of this DVD is horrible, don't even watch it. The features are mediocere. So why am I giving this DVD 5 stars?
2 words: Subbed DBZ. You get the good voices, the excellent music, what the characters REALLY say, and uncut DBZ. This is one of the greatest shows of all time, and now you can see it in the way it was meant to bee seen. Buy this. Now.

This has nothing to do with jelly!

For some reason, I tend to hook onto television shows which are just too progressive for the majority of drones out there. Does anyone remember the (original British) Max Headroom in the '80s? After the pilot, they produced about 8 shows, and it was prematurelly cancelled. When they tried to bring it back, it totally lost the edge.

So the same thing with Zim. But at least Zim was just cancelled before Nick tried to sugar it up. I still find it amazing that Nick even aired the show. These are the kind of cartoons to which none other can stand against.

From the commentary, the people involved give the impression that a lot of the work was half-baked, and I shudder to think what would happen if the producers were give total creative freedom, rather than being dragged down by the masses.

In any event, Zim is a brilliant creation which was deemed unworthy by Nick for further production.

If you've not seen Zim, you need to seriously buy all three of these DVD's and have a blowout weekend just watching them. You'll find yourself a better person.

Great Animated Disney Movie with Talking Dinosaurs!

I would recommend this over Jurassic Park because it's not so scary. And, the dinosaurs don't eat people. And, hey! it's Disney. The animation is really good. The dinosaurs look real when they talk they have a character all their own. The story plot is good. It's about Aladar, an Iguanodon. As an egg is stolen from his nest is taken to an island isolated from other dinosaurs and raised by a family of lemurs. His childhood buddy and sidekick is Yar. After a meteor fall to earth the vegetation begins to die off. In order for them to survive they must go on a migration along with a group of dinosaurs lead by the tough Kron to find a new home with water and food. It's a test of between strong-wills and survival of the fittest to making it to the dino promised land. Aladar meets a wise-cracking female Iguanodon, Zini. She takes a permanent liking to Aladar. Following up the rear is two old lady dinos, Baylene and Eema who add a spark of charm. And, what story would be with the bad guys. Bad, nasty Carnosaurs! They don't talk their attitudes let you know they mean business. They follow the group and make their journey-one to tread lightly. The good guys always win in the end. The bad guys meet their demise and the merry group find their new paradise. And the rest is a happy ending! If you ever visit 'Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park' in Orlando, you can see these guys in the attraction called DINOSAUR!

What excellence in direction by Alan Parker. This film, must be seen...if only for the breathtaking cinemaphotography.
Before I saw this film someone told me that every scene in this movie could be a photograph. And, after seeing it, I couldn't agree more! Truly beautiful, rich and delightful. A treat for your eyes.
Madonna plays Eva Paron...a poor bastard daughter of a married man. She wants to suceed in life and begins to let men help her climb the ladder to social sucess.
Antonio Banderas plays the narriator. It was funny to see him so serious after seeing him in his previous work. His voice is excellent for his part.
Madonna is so believable in this film. And I was glad she was chosen for the part.
Eva finaly meets Paron, they marry. He uses her to gain political support (as the people love her) She uses him to climb lifes sucess ladder. I do believe they did love each other.
The music is excellent. Almost everyone has heard the following popular songs from this film, You must Love Me...and Don't Cry For Me Argintina"
A warning to viewers who don't like musicals: Almost he whole movie is done in song.
Evita on video is also a great cost saver. It would cost at least that or more to see it on broadway...and with the video, you can watch it whenever you want to. If not to buy Evita, rent it to see it...beautiful work.

Erika Eleniak makes this movie

Chaser's will and should never win an oscar. But the movie is an entertaining little flick that doesn't stop the world.. but is a good watch.
Tom Berenger(who has done way too many good war roles to name) plays a grizzled, sailor, who is paired with a young, scam inclined, seamen(William McNamara) to transfer a prisoner(Erika Eleniak)to a new base. The stunning Eleniak uses every way she can to try and escape from the pair, who spend more time arguing than guarding. Eleniak uses everything from her outstanding "physical attributes" to outside help to try and ditch the two. The resulting forays add some pleasant humor.
By the end of the movie, Eleniak has fallen for McNamara and Berenger softens to the point of helping her escape. Nice/typical ending but not a bad movie. Just not a great one. Ok... if nothing else will sell it.. Erika bears skin. That alone should have sent pulses racing.
