Zombie film of the year.

Well, it was the only zombie film of 2002 but who cares? Okay, in a lab, a group of scientest are studying to do, well I forget. Anyway they fail, bcause in the middle of the process they drop there project and it turns them into the living dead a.k.a. zombies. A govrment group was sent to destroy the scienst, but when they get there all the scientest are all ready zombies. Cool plot huh? The main actress Milla Jovovich is really good( cute to). The film is never really slow and is entertaiting. Brought zombie film back to life, you can tell with 2003 Undead and 2004 Dawn of the Dead. Can't wait for the sequel.(P.S. If you want to get house of the dead because you liked this and it sounds sort of like this, don't)

Star Trek VI: The Return of Nick Meyer

This is personally my favorite Star Trek film; it possesses an original story based on [at the time] current events, and for a trek film it is both intriguing and a bit spooky. The film follows the (now functioning, post ST: V) Enterprise-A as they are sent to escort the Klingon Chancellor Gorkon to Earth, under the command of reluctant James T. Kirk, who detests the Klingon race for the cold murder of his son (as seen in ST: III). En route to Earth, an incident occurs in which the Chancellor's ship is seemingly attacked by the Enterprise and the Chancellor is assassinated by disguised Starfleet crewmen. Kirk and Dr. McCoy attempt to aid the dying Klingons, but they are arrested as assassins by Gorkon's chief-of-staff, General Chang.

Kirk and McCoy are sentenced to the prison planet of Rura Penthe where they have several assassination attempts pitted against them. Spock, meanwhile determines that several Federation, Romulan, and even Klingon members conspired together to murder the chancellor so that there would be no peace in the galaxy and each government could profit off war. Kirk even realizes that he had held a grudge against peace due to the murder of his son. The movie shows a great deal of conflict that has a great feeling of political pressure, analogous to the Cold War tensions.

The Ups: The space battles are awesome; it's nice to see Sulu as captain of the Excelsior, considering he fell in love with that ship in ST: III; Christopher Plummer's portrayal of Chang is great; and the "crew's" acting, including Shatner's Kirk are all wonderful; Nick Meyer's direction is of course magnificent, as he had previously demonstrated his ability with ST: II; and Cliff Eidelman's score is incredible and it's eerieness completely compliments the mood of the film itself.

The Downs: The Enterprise-A gets decommissioned, though it was just commissioned at the epilogue of ST: IV; I feel that there should have been more of a presence of the Romulans in the picture, and Chang's quoting of Shakespeare, at times, comes across as too much of a carbon copy of Khan quoting Melville in ST: II.

Leatherface Is My Hero!!!!

I received this movie actually a VCD of it all the way from Canada and it finally arrived at my house after 3 weeks......boy is this movie sure worth the wait!!! In the beginning of the movie it has a Narrator talking about the terrible crime that happened in South Texas near a Macacre Farm house. Then a noise of sounds like cybols crashing and the echoing of the bells then comes the title "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" in the background you hear the brutal scene of some decapitating a dead corpse and all of the sudden a camera flashes to certain body parts. When the camera flashes is over the camera pulls back slowly as it shows the slashed and impaled corpse on a post!! The plot on this movie is good also. I love the camera work on this movie as well from the scene where a Semi truck goes across the highway and bumps Franklin off his wheelchair, to the detailed camera work of when Pam is in the room with all sorts of bones, to the closeup of none other than Leatherface himself!!!! The most bizazare camera angle was when Salley was tied up in a chair my the dinnertable and it shows extreme closeups of her flipping out with just the right music in the background!!! Another good thing about this film was the killings done by Leatherface.... I mean come on the shot of the Sledgehammer to the head of Kirk, the impaled back of Pam when she is stuck on the meat hook then stuffed in a freezer, to another sledge shot to the back of the head on Jerry, and finally the Brutal Chainsaw attack done on Franklin by Leatherface!!!! You must be lying if you think "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" isn't one of the best Horror Cult Classic of all time!!!! The most weird thing is this film is based on true events that happened in Wisconsin at a farmhouse done by Ed Gein!!!! Tobe Hopper did a splendid job on this film and he and the rest of the film crew did very Wonderful on this Classic Horror Cult Film!!!! One of my favorite scenes is when Leatherface is swinging his trusty Chainsaw around and around at the end of the movie!!!! You will tremble after seeing one of the best Horror Cult Films of All Time....... "THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE"!!!!

Dubbing is evil

All I've been reading lately in these reviews is about how people dislike the new dubbing. Well i have something to interject. Who cares about dubbing, the whole reason i wanted to get this DVD is that the original japanese dialogue was included. If you have that, then who needs dubbing. I mean the original dub for Akira was campy at best. Dubbing was created for a weak minded culture such as ares. People who say they can't watch a subtitled movie are the same people who say they can't watch a black and while movie. So to appease these dim witted cretins, dubbing and colonization was born. so, come on people, grow a brain and watch it subbed ;)

It's one of the funniest romantic comedies I've ever seen!

I love going to the movies and watching videos. I thought I had seen it all. But, "She's the One" exposed me to a level of elation I've never experienced. My friends and I watched it nearly four times. It's one of the best movies ever made.

A View To A Kill

This is my favorite Bond movie. I've loved this movie ever since it came out in 1985.

Frankly,I'm a bit surprised at the bad reviews. They say that it's the worst Bond movie, with unbelievable premises and action and with bad acting. Considering that most,if not all of the Bond movies are "campy" to say the least,I think this is one of the better ones.

The 007 genre is SUPPOSED to be campy and entertaining. It's what gives it it's uniqueness.I don't think that these movies were originally made to be serious thought pervoking flicks. You have to take these movies for what they are:over-the-top,campy,sometimes rediculous entertainment.

Enjoy!

FANTASTIC!!!

J-Rock at its BEST!!! This is the only L'Arc-en-Ciel concert ever performed in the USA to date. How I wish I was there after seeing this DVD!!! L'Arc-en-Ciel is an amazingly talented band composed of Hyde (vocal), Tetsu (bass), Ken (guitar), and Yukihiro (drums.) These guys are AMAZING. Their music is so diverse and constantly evolving.

Also, the price is a STEAL compared to L'Arc-en-Ciel's other live DVDs available from Japan.

Twins - movie DVD cover picture
Fun for the Family

Is it a "don't mess with ma nature" warning to the geneticists or a light-hearted, good-natured buddy film? We'd say it's more of the latter. Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman ushers twins separated at birth -- the intellectual Julius (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and the bombastic Vincent (Danny DeVito) -- through a number of bumbling, getting-to-know-you scenarios. Twin chemistry drew audiences to the theaters in droves back in 1988.
