Zoids is my favorite

Zoids is the best show out there besides gundam, the dragon ball series and kinshin. Zoids is more futuristic. They should of came up with more episodes. There is not that many. If i were u i would get it. I remember watching it in the mornings around 6:30. Then i would watch it later in the afternoon on toonami. I hate the new lineup for cartoonetwork. It stinks. All the have is dragonball gt, yuyu, and another gundam. I think they should move it back the way it used to be than have new episodes on saturdays. Not many people will be able to see toonami shows on saturdays. I am mad that they took of one of my favoite shows since i was in the 8th grade. Now i am going to the 11th.(...)

Brilliant Special Effects, Much props to Paul Anderson!

That's what I'm talking about I Love when I get my money's worth! As for Paul W.S. Anderson I'm not sure if AVP was his 1st time directing, but my hat comes off for him! I'm curious as to what precisely gave him the idea to combine the 2. I'm still in aw (he's a genious for that specific reason). I'm please with the cast most of all Lex (Sanaa L.). I've seen Sanaa in plenty of movies & she takes the art of acting to greater levels... So even if I hate any movie(s) I'm greatly please with her performances! I loved the slogan ''The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend''. It was brilliant to have Lex become partners with The Predator! The fact that the Predators mark themselves with their enemie's blood proves to me that this movie displays war & action! When Lex & the Predator ran together on their quest was the great climax of AVP. 1 of my favorite scenes has to be when the Predator jumps up & cuts the master Alien to save Lex! I was glad when the Predator blew those Alien eggs to pieces & Lex said that she hopes that it blows up every F***ing 1 of them! It was original to start it in Anartica rather than some place known or active. It was a great ending, it lets AVP supporters know that there's more to come! The moral of AVP is ''Leave well enough Alone''! That's just like these Damn Assinine humans always what to claim things that are unknown & are not rightfully theirs! Some fear what they don't understand, ''So now they can Die for it''!!!!

Metropolis (Restored Authorized Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
A neophyte's perspective

This is the only version of this movie I have seen, so I can't compare it to previous releases or discuss the comparative quality of the DVD, etc. I can, however, share my impressions of the movie itself. In fact, to even call this extraordinary work of art a movie is like calling the Mona Lisa a picture.
This was the first silent movie I had ever watched (certainly won't be the last), and I watched it after reading some very interesting reviews of the film's artistry and importance. To say I was not disappointed is an understatement.
The "feel" of the movie is somewhat similar to that of Blade Runner, a dark, futuristic world. However, I have seen Blade Runner twice, many years ago, and I can only remember a few vague things about it (unfortunately the plot is not one of them). But there is no doubt in my mind that the story and the images of Metropolis are burned into my memory with almost eerie permanence. It was very, very far ahead of its time, in both story and scope. In fact, if someone had told me that it was a modern movie purporting to be a 1927 silent movie I would have believed it hook, line, and sinker. But my response would have been - 1927? Impossible! It is no wonder that Metropolis is required viewing for film students. There is no doubt in my mind that it has influenced or directly inspired every science fiction film ever made.
Plot: Fascinating, easy enough to follow even when it doesn't always make complete sense. (But then with one quarter of the movie tragically lost forever, it's a wonder it makes sense at all.)
Acting: Truly a joy - the actors, since they had no dialogue to fall back on, had to convey the story and move along the plot through facial expressions and gestures, and they succeeded magnificently. Acting has come a long way, but the over-the-top acting style of the era adds to the movie's incredible charm.
Score: Magnificent. I have not seen the 80's version with the heavy metal score, so I apologize if I offend its fans, but I absolutely can't imagine this film with any other but the original score. It is perfect. To replace the score with anything else would be giving the viewers only half the experience.
Artistry: Simply unbelievable. The details are immaculate. Watching the workers on the M machine move in rhythm to the music like a choreographed dance was an impression I will never forget, and how the mob that approached the gothic church at the end was arranged in a perfectly symmetrical pyramid. The extraordinary art deco beauty of the Machine Man, the towering city, the intricate machines, all of it was simply fantastic (in the literal sense). I have never seen anything so utterly captivating to watch.
The DVD quality does seem extraordinary, but again I have nothing to compare it to. The picture was as clear as if it had been filmed yesterday. The only disappointment - and it is a grave and tragic one - is not being able to see the fourth that was lost.
Very, very highly recommended, especially for fans of science fiction, the arts, architecture, the art deco period, silent films, classic films, special effects, film history ... well, you get the idea.

A Great Horror Movie!!

This movie is awsome, it's much better than the original. When I first saw the beggining and I saw Tom Savini's name I was like ah man this ain't gonna be as good as it could have(mainly because he was more of a make-up artist), but boy was I wrong, I guess he learned alot working with Romero! This was great, same story a bunch of people gather in an old farm house to avoid the flesheating zombies. They try to think of an escape plan but it is almost impossible, the zombies look pretty cool. But the ending will make you feel bad, I didn't want it to end in the way it did but what are you gonna do eh? Still on of the best ending for a horror movie. The character in this are well developed and likeable. But boy the ending is really something to watch for... This remains one of the best made horror movies of all-time! You have to watch it to see how good it is!

Inspiring

I sometimes wonder how many people under the age of twenty-five have never taken the time to view this film. I would hope the number is low. This is a movie that can inspire anyone, not just boxers or athletes. This movie is about taking that "one" shot, many of us sometimes get, and doing something with it - really using that chance.
Rocky is a film about overcoming what seems to be impossible odds with sheer character; a simple mind does not equal a simple soul, and as Rocky Balboa clearly demonstrates - when you get the shot you've always dreamed of, make it worth every second. Sylvester Stallone did just that - he wrote a novel about getting that one big shot, and it became his one big shot. The actor, director, and producer takes a lot of ridicule from the artsy-fartsy crowd but most of that is just plain jealousy; a forceps delivery left Stallone with a speech impediment, but his brain is just fine.
As another reviewer stated recently, if by some chance a person has not seen this film, they need to - it is in a class by itself.

outstanding

This little documentary is a humane masterpiece--I'll be buying it the instant it comes out on DVD. The children are endearing and fascinating, and their families are so revealing. This film could be profitably used in the junior high or high school classroom as a springboard for discussion of any number of things--individual learning styles, the value (or not) of competition, goal-setting and the drive to be the best, accepting those who are different, what it means to be an immigrant, etc. The film should also be seen by any person who is or intends to be a language arts teacher for this age group, because for many of these students, the teacher was very involved in the process, and we get to meet several of them as the film progresses. Great, great documentary.

Don't Look at My Rating, Read My Review

Now, this is not a movie that you need to add to your DVD collection, nor is it a great movie. Why 5 stars then? Cause this is what life is like. Not my life by any means and most likely not your life. But there are people out there and THIS is their life. One of the things I hated about the movie however was Bunny Boy. If this was some kind of metaphor I didn't catch it. This was simply a pointless character. Harmony Korine (the writer of "Kids") has made a movie that is just...Weird. It doesn't really have a plot either. The film is virtually a series of flashing images. But it basically shows us the lives of Tummler, Solomon, Darby, Dot (Chloe Sevigny,
"Boys Don't Cry" who also served as costume designer), and Helen. Their lives are twisted and a little bit disturbing. It is told in sort of a documentary like fashion. But the film is filled with graphic images like Tummler and Solomon killing cats, putting them in a bag, and selling them. And there is a LOT of homosexual overtones. One scene with a kid in drag I found sick and creepy. A-.
(Note: I would never buy this movie, nor would I watch it again. I am grading it on the sole fact of its no holds barred
look at life)
