Brandon Lee as Neo?

I won't bother writing another review, everyone has an opinion. Some people liked the Matrix series, others hated it. I think most people reading this have already seen the movie and are just looking for a review of the DVD's and the boxed set. I couldn't tell you since it's not out yet, but I plan making this purchase the day it's released.

I do have something I would like to share with fans though. I watched THE CROW yesterday and While I enjoyed the Matrix movies and I think Keanu Reeves does a good job as Neo, I could not help thinking what if Brandon Lee was still alive?

Is it just me or does it seem like Brandon Lee would have been Ideal for this role. I can't help but wonder how a change of actors might have effected the overall outcome of the film. Again I don't wan't to take anything away from Keanu, his performance was excellent with regards to this particular role, but what if?

I find myself entertaining such fantasies often, I must have too much time on my hands but I was curious to know what others think. Feel free to write me with your opinions at

Gets better every time I watch it...

I don't know what I liked best, Tom Berenger or the story behind the movie. Both were extremely compelling to watch. The tension/soon to be love between the two main characters was so intriguing that I couldn't walk away from the TV for one moment. If anyone hasn't seen a really great love/historic/adventure/scenic/great movie in a long time - check this one out, you won't be disappointed.

Stella Dallas - movie DVD cover picture

If any Stanwyck picture would prove that she was the greatest actress of her generation (or any generation), one only needs to see her in this!! In a career that spanned nearly 70 years, Stella Dallas is the role she loved best and regretted most losing the Oscar. As she once said "My life's blood was in that film". Indeed. Who can forget the touching scene with Barbara O'Neill when she is surrendering her daughter to her. Or the scene when she has to 'lie' to her daughter and act as if she doesn't care about her when inside her heart is truly breaking. Or the the train sequence when she and Laurel (her daughter) overhear Laurel's friends demeaning Stanwyck's character with Laurel not knowing that Stanwyck has heard everything. Or the ending scene with Stella watching from the outside watching her daughter's wedding? I defy anyone to not shed a tear during this final scene. Stanwyck's bravura shone through all of her films (even her bad ones....yes she made her share of them too...) but when one sees her in Stella Dallas one realizes that Stanwyck could act rings around (OVERLY HAMMY, BUG EYED, HAND WRINGING, SHOULDER SHAKING, RAPID SPEECH CLIPPING) Bette Davis or (TWITTERING, MANNERY, LIP SHAKING, HIGH STRUNG) Katharine Hepburn. No one could touch Stanwyck!! If you have never seen this film you will understand why...and if you do see this film...have a couple of boxes of kleenex'll need them. Why Stanwyck lost the Oscar for this to Luise Rainer (THE GOOD EARTH) I will never understand. But then of course, why Stanwyck lost the Oscar the other three times she was nominated I will never understand. She was the greatest!!! And She also had a humanity about her that was second to none!!

Hilarious and Brilliant!

Eminem's work on this is both smart and brilliant! the cartooning is sickly funny and he still finds time to make fun of everyone, just like he does in all of his songs. these are all shows that were originally aired on the internet... and during the anger management tour. it's a lot like the sick and twisted comedy of south park, and he even makes fun of south park in this dvd! along with mary kate & ashley olsen, mase, christina aguilera, robert downey jr, ben affleck, matt damon, his mother, leonardo dicaprio, the gouverment, and much, MUCH, more! it also includes a lot of extras that the vhs doesn't. like behind the scenes footage, picture gallery, music videos, plus a never before seen episode! it's worth it! buy it!

The Phantom of the Opera (Widescreen Edition) - movie DVD cover picture

Soaring music, tense drama, beautiful sets--it's all there! I didn't think that anything could top the experience of the stage production of "Phantom", but this movie does an amazingly good job of adapting the timeless story to the screen. Emmy Rossum hits all the right notes (no pun intended) as the winsome heroine who is torn between her love of the Angel of Music and Raoul, and Gerard Butler is convincing as the tormented Phantom. Patrick Wilson's role is not nearly as interesting as the other two in the triangle, but his vocals add a welcome dimension to the duets and trios. Minnie Driver is a wonderful Prima Dona and the other supporting roles are played convincingly. The movie captures the magic of the play, especially in the large production numbers and adds an extra dimension afforded by close-ups and adaptability of settings. This movie is highly recommended!

We will enjoy Orange County . . .

. . . Just like we always have. It's impossible not to enjoy a movie called "Orange County." No matter how good or bad this film is, the sheer poor taste of this title will fill us with toddler-esque whimsy. I'm not convinced that Orange County actually exists, but this movie will give us a chance to contemplate the issue collectively. Perhaps some answer will eventually be found.

Great tribute to America's most recognizable fictional character

I remember going to see Superman The Movie as a kid with my dad. He was more eager to see it than I was. Thinking back, it's great to consider we were able to enjoy something that spanned across both our generations. So few things do these days.

The effects, the characters, the story, and the music in Superman The Movie are all fantastic. It's also very cool to consider that, aside from a little modernization (circa 1978), the movie stayed true to the original story.

While the special effects were amazing when first released, I'm sure that by today's standards, a lot of it seems somewhat campy. However, the flow and storyline are so strong, most of the aged effects are easily overlooked.

Most importantly....Superman The Movie just makes you "feel good". Despite incredible abilities, Superman was still recognized as being vulnerable to emotion. He had to deal with growing up on an alien planet. It made us consider...What would we do with powers like that? He was someone who would do the right thing at any cost. He wanted to make the world a better place.

How can we NOT like a character like that?
