Yule Be Wiggling Clear Past the Christmas Season

My grandson's version of this was under the tree at Christmas time and put the other presents to shame. Well, maybe everything but the electric train but he loves the Wiggles.
Buy Every Wiggles movie you can. It will keep your children and grandchildren for hours and after about two days, you will be singing the songs as well.
They are not just the hottest children's group in Austrilia, they are the hottest signing group period. It is for good reason as they seem like a nicer, smarter version of the Monkees.
My grandson and I dance with Wags the Dog on a frequent basis.

Georgia on My Mind!

Because they didn't put in "Georgia on My Mind" in the last series DVD, I've no only lost my faith in Universal, but in humanity in general...

I'm going to wander into the desert now and search for a community where soundtracks to television shows still matter. I'll send word if I find anything!

a perfect example of a drug crazed world

What is wrong with you lame people? Don't you understand what's going on? ANSWER ME!!! Leave this planet and go and watch Top Gun. You are obviously all puritans of the highest degree. We all know books and films are totally different mediums and should be viewed without prejudice. It's no good being elitist and dropping into the conversation 'Oh, it's not half as good as the book'. Most people can read, so for all of those who haven't read it, go buy it, then watch the movie and form your own opinion.

drop dead funny

This brittish show is one of the true hidden gems of a comedy series.Unitl i saw it on pbs I never knew about it. It is so funny how Mrs.bucket(opps bou-ket) tries to impress everone with her fancy hats and her royal attitude. It may not be for everyone but i think you should watch at least 1 episode in its entirety before u say its boring. it just gets better and better. This is a must have set.

Timeless

I first caught this movie when it was running on a movie channel on TV. I went out and bought it the next day -- I've never done that before.
This has to be one of the most hilarious and entertaining movies I own. No one could have played Mona better than Bette Middler, and the acting of William Fitchner and Danny DeVito make the movie... not to mention the vulnerable Bobby played by Casey Affleck whose blond wig is priceless.
The yugo gag, the way these backwards-arsed country folk are portrayed as well as the fine choice of music such as "In the Summertime" by Mungo Jerry, and the bit played during Ellie's panic make this movie one that I'm prod to show friends I have over.
If you like to laugh and giggle, give Drowning Mona a spin.

VERY RARE QUALITY CLASSIC 1980'S SERIES

I was shocked when seeing a release date for the Animated Rambo Series because ir has not been on TV for about 15 years in the USA, and is wanted by fans where ever you read about it online and no one has it completely, only 4 more volumes are needed to complete it, 11 are on this and the other volume due, 65 were made in total, hopefully they will bring another 2 volumes out by Chrismas and another 2 early next year to complete the series

Rambo was based on the successful movie franchise of the same name starring Sylvester Stallone as freedom fighter John Rambo. The cartoon series debuted in April of 1986 as a five part mini series, and was renewed in September as a daily cartoon. Unfortunately the series only last one season and was cancelled in December of the same year(65 episodes were made in total.
In the cartoon, Rambo was now part of a team called The Force of Freedom which went on missions around the world
battling against the evil organization S.A.V.A.G.E., led by General Warhawk. Although the cartoon was filled with lots of fighting and gun fire, there was never any sensational violence, blood or gore, and rarely did anyone ever die. Rambo used violence as a last result and relyed on quick thinking and fast moves to outwit his opponents. It is a very good classic.

New Zealand proves a source of more wonder

As an anthropology fan, a movie fan and a New Zealand fan this film won on all levels. I re-read the book and was again moved by the power of myth and storytelling. I will buy the video when it is issued. I've never met anyone who visited NZ who wouldn't go back for more and this film shows part of the reason for that.Of course the film is not the book, but a book is not a live performance, nor a reading, nor a conversation. If you have not seen this movie, you have missed something. If you have seen it you have been introduced to myth, to characters, to storytelling, to the Maori people. It is a brief introduction. You will want to know them better. For reading try Whale Rider's author Witi Ihimaera and Maurice Shadbolt. Shadbolt's work includes the South Pacific version of America's westward expansion. His "Season of the Jew" about the Maori wars of the late 1800s is epic movie material.

Very Nice

If you're looking for fighting scenes skip this one. Although there are frequent fight scenes, Ranma learns no techniques, and he almost never uses his old fighting styles. The point of this one is to watch romance unfold between Ranma and Akane. The best scene is when Akane has a cold, and Ranma has a curse where he must hug someone whenever he sneezes. This episode shows quite a lot of film humor (for instance, they are playing this movie where some guy says that she doesn't love this man but embraces him, and later Ranma embraces Akane, and you hear a boat whistle). The next best episode is when the local fortuneteller reads a Tower when Happosai passes (Happosai is the source of all ruin anyway), and Akane has to nurse the entire family back with some weird witch remedy.

Why they release it so late?

This is the best zombie movie ever made. I don't understand why so many people were upset by the idea about remaking the original. I watched the original the other day, and it seriously needs a facelift in today's time. To be fair, the first Dawn of the Dead is a classic during it's time, and is so innovative.

I really like the openning of the movie. It looks so real when Sarah escaped from her house, and saw her neighbors being chased by zombies, you feel like it can really happen. The reality TV touch is just incredible.

I am surprised no one has reviewed this yet. I can't wait to buy this DVD. Why can't the movie studio release this sooner? I want this DVD yesterday!!!

Peyton Place - movie DVD cover picture
One of the very best of its kind!!

Peyton Place was filmed in beautiful Camden, Maine and I remember the time when it was filmed there..I was a kid growing up in Portland , Maine. It is a great piece of melodrama, and the music of course makes it such. The score alone merits attention, and you can get it on CDs and Lp if you search. Well worth it.
The film has many pluses: Lana Turner is in a new kind of role here, not so camp, but fun to witness her distress and those hands of hers moving in all directions. Also, check out her Maine accent. Where can she be from???Diane Varsi is wonderful as Allison, and Hope Lange never better..this is one out of three or four good Hope Lange performances. All of Varsi should be seen, including Johnny Got His Gun and even Bloody Mama. When Varsi made Peyton Place she was 23 and had been married three times and had some children. Her Reveries on marriage and chastity have strange resonaces to them!
Betty Field is in this, and she oozes madness; her husband is Arthur Kennedy, who has rape written all over that face and body. And then there is David Nelson from the dreadful Ozzie and Harriet series of the 50's, acting his way out of a film career of any kind, very funny, and Barry Coe(whatever happened to him?) and the great Terry Moore, who gices a superb performance, and who has the best Maine accent ever heard in any film about Maine.
You get vetrans Leon Ames(Doris Day musicals) and the evr great and eerie Mildred Dunnock, with those cryptic lines to the class she teaches and to the alcoholic janitor, not to be forgotten. And LLoyd Nolan as Doc Swain, pontificating and gossiping about affairs and abortions. His laugh and sneer are classic here. Then there is Lee Philips, who is the image of a small town principal; tweedy and sententious and civic-minded. Lana must be wooed by him and it is very funny to see. Lee never went anywhere at Fox or at any other studio, but he's servicable and could have done more, I think, with direction. Here, he is scary he's so authentic. Lana's interest in him is hard to belive, beciuse she always liked mobsters and he-men in real life.Good for her! The score and the color and the CinemaScope are better served on the large screen, and DVD will help this film a great deal. Wait for its manifestation on DVD and relive the passions and power of Peyton Place.
Do not forget Return To Peyton Place: this is the bad sequel, but the real good part of this film are the performances of Mary Astor and Eleanor Parker, especially Mary Astor who steals the film and shows everyone how to act on screen. Carol Lynley's career at Fox eneded with this film. She plays Allison, and she is beyond comment, but, hilarious in every way, and she means to be serious. Jose Ferrer directs so badly I expect always to see him lynched at the end of the film, but, again, there are bonuses: you get Rosemary Clooney(then Jose's wife) signing the Peyton Place theme with lovely lyrics, and she is in splendid voice.
These two films are rare things, and they come out of the 50's and early 60's when naivete and experience were just touching bases with each other. These films are still trying to bypass James Dean, Brando, and Newman's talents and insights..a last gasp of Romanticism with those glittering musical themes sweeping across landscapes meant for lovers.
Get the DVD when they come out..Where are they???
