Y'know What?

This is one of the best movies I've ever seen.

I had read a Paul Auster novel before (BOOK OF ILLUSIONS) and it was a fine read, but this film that he wrote and co-directed just surpasses any possible expectations I could've possibly had going in.

I highly reccomend that you put captions on this, so you don't miss a line. This is what cinema was truly meant to be. Tremendous acting, brilliant script, deep characters, thoughtful camera work...flawless.

The plot is irrelevant. It is one of those films that you just have to let unfold so to admire the intertwining of the lives that are portrayed.

Bravo to Keitel, Hurt, Whittaker, and all the actors and crew members who managed to pull this off.

Do not hesitate in checking this out.

Cheers 2nd Season

Absolutely the best show of all time. Phenominal cast, and terrific writing. Ted Danson is the best actor in TV history, and he deserved more than 2 Emmy's."Just Three Friends", and "Cliffs' Rocky Moment" are two of the funniest episodes of all time. Absolutely hysterical. "CHEERS" season 2 is excellent, just as good as the first season, if not just a tad better. My only problem , I agree with Don H, is the terrible cover. Sam is much taller than Diane , not the same size, and the smile they put on Sam is oviously(sorry wrong spelling)not his. Anybody can see it is digitally added. Plus I've seen the real picture , and he is not smiling. But I digress, it is a terrific set , and everybody should own it. Cliff is the best.

Practical Magic - movie DVD cover picture

A truly magical ancestress, a witch in very deed, escapes the hangman's noose only to place a curse on herself and her female posterity. What ensues is an enchantingly wonderful, though sometimes dark, tale of two witch sisters who live to deal with the family curse.
Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock star as the witch sisters who approach their upbringing in magic very differently. Bullock's character, the level headed and pragmatic Sally, wants nothing more than to find true love and live a normal life while her sister Gillian (Kidman) wants to live it up and change the men in her life like most people change their socks.
The two join magical forces when one of Gillian's assorted men emerges as a sinister character played by Goran Visnjic. Their adventures seem to have gone well until a lawman (Aidan Quinn) shows up with all too many questions and seems all too familiar to Sally.
Perhaps even more appealing than Kidman and Bullock from the standpoint of screen presence, Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing star as a couple of enchanting -- almost Victorian -- aunts of our two heroines that are absolutely spellbinding and unforgettable.
Practical Magic, regardless of the theme, is not a Halloween flick like Hocus Pocus and should not be avoided by any who might think that it has seasonal appeal.
An enchantingly entertaining film!

Oh Boy!

This one is sure to step on too many toes. Yes! all sorts of reviews have already been written. Bouquets and Brickbats abound. What is missing in most of the reviews is that this is an attempt to really highlight, what the world has long relegated to shadows. An attempt by non-Muslims to delve into the arena where the millionaire Arabs should have delved into long ago. Another example of the Muslim nation asleep. The information supplied in this documentary was the worst nightmare for some people who see history through prejudiced 80% tinted glasses and prefer that other's see it that way too...but then history is history and Muslims should have no reason to live in it and excuse their present intellectual stagnation by harping about their past glories for ages to come.
The documentary is also factual in how it details Muslim accomplishments by duly taking their basis from Greek and Indian scholars. After all, Mr. Philipps of Harrow, Mr. Tatin with the aeroplane constructed by him at Chalais-Meudon, Mr. Lilienthal near Berlin, had all contributed to the dream of Flying machine before Wright brothers perfected it, not before duly giving credit to them all.Just as Greeks can only share but not lay claim to advances in medicine, astronomy or architectural marvels accomplished by Muslims, neither can Indians lay claim to refinement and usage of their zero and modern applications brought by Arabs and in the same zeal, Muslims can only share but not claim of any significant contribution to the era of Western Industrial revolution.

Best Season Ever !!!

Okay, here it is! The season that redefined Dawson's Creek and truly made it must-see-TV.
There has never been more heartbreaking angst and pure emotional drama packed into a single story on this show than the relationship of Pacey and Joey, and this is where it all begins. From the tentative first realization of feelings to one of the all-time greatest season finales ever, THIS is the season you MUST own.
The Pacey and Joey pairing had every element of a truly great love story, and I have to believe there is a reason those in charge of the show decided to wait a few seasons to let these two characters explore the sparks that were always under the surface between them. The chemistry between these two actors is amazing - truly electric - and undeniable as it carries over onto the screen. There's a little bit of influence from modern day romances like "When Harry Met Sally..." or "Say Anything..." thrown into this story, as well as that wonderful sort of humorous banter that you usually only got to see in the old Hepburn-Tracy classics. Sweetness and sarcasm abounds...and Pacey and Joey are also sizzling HOT together.
It's certainly no wonder that the Dawson and Joey relationship on the show was never able to rebound after this season with the majority of the fans. Of course, painting Dawson as the guy coming between TRUE LOVE in this season didn't do his character any favors, but he certainly became the character we loved to disparage, and every TV show needs one of those. We all knew Dawson was going to throw a hissy fit when he found out his best friend and his best girl had fallen in love when he wasn't looking, and he did not disappoint us in all his drama queen glory.
Such great entertainment this season! You get absolute heart-melting moments from Josh Jackson as Pacey (the year he secured the title as everybody's favorite TV boyfriend), terrific acting from Katie Holmes as Joey and even James Van Der Beek steps up to the plate this season and comes through, whether you love or hate Dawson.
Jen and Jack even have good storylines this season, with Jen (like Joey) finding love in an unexpected place and Jack coming to terms a little more with his homosexuality, and his family's acceptance of that.
THIS is the season of Dawson's Creek that addicted so many of us to the show, and really did change it forever.

It's been a long time...

This is truly a lovely movie, and it has been a long time since a romantic comedy has been this enjoyable. This movie may remind you of "When Harry Met Sally" or "Sleepless in Seattle", where the couples are clearly meant for each other, yet have obstacles they must overcome. The acting and dialogue are superb! Hugh Grant, a world-famous actor, is completely convincing as an average bloke, while Julia Roberts goes by Anna Scott and plays herself, a "heavenly" movie star.
One review of this movie called it "pure fairy tale." As long as you can believe that it is possible for an actress to truly be a "good person," that she may actually want to live a relatively "normal" life outside of her acting career and may want to start a family of her own, then this statement is false. One specific scene mentioned as difficult to believe was the initial kiss that takes place quite soon after they meet. However, there are two reasons why this scene is believable. First, it is quite obvious that she is impressed from the start with his wit, sensitivity, and honesty, especially compared to the other men who are falling over themselves when they meet her. Secondly, this kiss may be a sort of test. In a city filled with reporters trying to get a story and her pictures plastered everywhere, her life has to be secretive as much as possible. Perhaps she wanted to see if she would be reading about the incident in the next day's paper before she allowed herself to get too close. She gave him quite the opportunity to brag to his friends or family, but he does not.
This movie is quite entertaining to watch the first, second and even fifth time.

Great show, died before it's time.

Here is another show that FOX canceled! It's fate became that of most shows that Fox makes, it was canceled. The Tick (Live action and cartoon versions) , Titus, Family guy, Futurama, The Critic, Dark Angel, Grounded for life, Andy Richter controls the universe, John Doe, just to name a few. Fox has made and then canceled more popular TV shows then any other network that has ever, or will ever exist on this planet!Firefly in my opinion is one of the best television shows ever made. At first I was hesitant on watching it, because I did not want to get into another show, just to have it canceled by the morons at Fox! I gave it a chance though, and I really got into it! The next thing that I knew , "Oh look, it's canceled!", which is something that I have said way to many times! I don't think it was really given a full chance. Fox never played with the time slots, or moved it to a better day, they just canceled it.
This is a great show, and is well worth the money.

Great, classic sci-fi/scary movie

I was disappointed when I saw the Fast and the Furious because I was one of the few that saw this movie before F&F. Vin plays such a bad mofo that he makes disgruntled postal employees look happy. It was the ideal role to break him. The acting is solid although fairly stereotypical for a scary movie. Good flick with some good cinematic features (love the cranked whiteness). A definate must for anyone that likes sci-fi based scary movies (like Aliens, etc).
