X-treamly great for fans as well as first-time watchers

I absolutely loved this movie! I am a die-hard fan and i think they did a beautiful job on this film. It answered questions, while posing more; it brought first-time viewers up to date without boring the people who have seen every episode. I've heard people say that it was like a 2 hour episode, but i hardily disagree. The X-files movie brought out details of the relationship between Mulder and Skully as well as the deeper conspiracies in the government. This is a must have movie and i could watch it a thousand times without getting bored. Rent the movie or buy the tape, because there are new scenes added that clear up some questions that have been plegueing viewers for years and it also adds to the plot for people who don't watch the show.

A Must-Have DVD

Since I have already reviewed this, one of America's greatest cinematic masterpieces, I will urge any and all to purchase this excellent packaging and presentation of John Huston's finest fictional hour (his war-time documentaries are his truest masterpieces).
Besides containing a pristine and vibrant transfer which makes the gorgeous silver, rainy-grey, cloud-white and jet black cinematography vibrate with rich detail, Warner Brothers has outdone themselves and bookended this classic film with a treasure trove of fantastic extras.
While the commentary by author Eric Lax is only so-so, the documentaries are brilliant and illumanitive- especially the biographical feature which alone makes this package a must have. Featuring interviews with the avuncular Huston himself as well has film clips and wonderful insights from his family and co-workers, this superb documentary celebrates one of Hollywood's true characters. Huston was a type of figure never to be seen again.
The behind the scenes documentary about the dramatic story behind the making of the film, narrated by John Milius (I would have appreciated his commentary more!)proves almost as entertaining as the feature itself. Short Subjects, Cartoons and trailers as well as a fascinating radio broadcast from 1949 featuring Bogie and Walter Huston rounds out the extras which make this a most certain must have DVD for all film fans.
Money well spent!

Bjork Is Beautiful!

Taken from the UK leg of her "Homogenic" tour, bringing along with her album collaborators Mark Bell and the Icelandic String Octet, this 1998 recording is the best live concert Bjork commits to her newfound 'Live DVD Series'. Comprising mostly of tracks from "Homogenic", Bjork performs with such clairvoyant authority and adorable playfulness you cannot take your eyes or ears away from her. Her angelic get-up as well is a truly iconic image that stays with you afterwards, though she allows the Octet and Bell moments to shine also.
The best is saved until the end, when Bjork and the Octet return to the stage for an encore after Bell's fit-inducing work on 'Pluto'. Bjork's rendition of "Debut's" 'The Anchor Song', half in Icelandic and half in English, is unbelievable, and should be released on a live CD; the notes she hits at the end are gut-wrenchingly spine-tingling. The piece finishes up with 'Joga', and here Bjork is at her best with the Octet, all beaming with pride as the song plays on; Bjork's exhalted joy at the end reveals that she is enjoying this as much as, if not more than, the viewer watching it. Once she's given her thanks, you just want to hit the repeat button and watch it all over again. Worthwhile addition to any self-respecting Bjork fan's collection.

Well, absolutely the film of the year 1986! Real masterpiece in it's own genre. Nice casting, including lot of well known Finnish actors like: Vesa Vierikko, Ismo Kallio and Sari Havas. Renny Harlin and Markus Selin really made the film, which still make conversation and sometimes even headlines in the papers.
After fifteen years on it's theatrical premiere "Born American" is now available on DVD video format. I think that's first time when audience around the world has possibility to see that Cold War epic adventure on it's real form: Uncut and the kind of, what Harlin and Selin meant it to be shown!

Friends, the sitcom about six very attractive New Yorkers and the problems they face, has released another boxed set full of their best episodes. Friends never fails to please an this collection is no exception. The shows on these DVD's are: Volume 3 The One With The Blackout - The One With The Candy Hearts - The One Where Ross and Rachel... You Know - The One With The Football - The One That Could Have Been (Parts 1 and 2) volume 4: - The One With Chandler In A Box - The One Hundredth - The One With All The Revolutions - The One Where Ross Got High - The One With The Proposal (Parts 1 and 2)
The One With the Blackout: A first season episode, Ross wants to ask Rachel out but a cat (and then a handsome Italian man) get in his wayThe one with the Candy Hearts: The Valentine's Day Episode where Chandler unknowingly gets set up with his old girlfriend Janice (oh my Gawd!!!) and Phoebe, Monica, and Rachel have a "boyfriend bonfire" because they are all alone. The One where Rachel and Ross...You know: A second season episode. Now Ross and Rachel have become an official couple and they are going out on their first "official" date: to the Museum of Natural History (where Ross works)and the things that happen there. The One with the Football: The second of many special Thanksgivings Episodes, the "gang" plays football in a nearby park. Monica and Ross have an ongoing competition which turns into a full out war boys against girls. The One that Could have Been: A fantasy episode, what if the gang could have lived their lives differently: Rachel was still married to Barry, Ross was still married to Carol (and Carol wasn't a lesbian) Joey wasn't fired from Days of Our Lives, Monica was still fat, Chandler had the guts to quit his meaningless job, and Phoebe was a stockbroker. The One with Chandler in a Box: Chandler kissed Joey's girlfriend (in the last episode) so Chandler's punishment is to spend time in a box, thinking about how he wronged his friend. A really funny episode with Matthew Perry stealing the show with only three fingers visible. The One Hundredth: It's time for Phoebe to have her brother's triplets. Chandler and Monica have their first fight and Joey has his own medical problems when he gets kidney stones. The most poignant and touching moment is at the end, Phoebe's speech to her newborn neices and nephews. The One with All the Resolutions: Its New Years Eve, baby! The gang each make a resolution for the new year. Ross: to do one new thing a day, Phoebe: to Pilot a commercial jet, Monica: to take more pictures, Chandler: to stop insulting people, Rachel: to stop gossiping, Joey: to learn to play the guitar. The One where Ross got High: Another great thanksgiving episode. Ross and Monica's parents hate chandler and don't know that C+M are living together. The info slips out during Thanksgiving dinner. The One with the Proposal: The last episode of the 7th season. Chandler finally proposes (or tries to) to Monica. Friends is a great series and continues to make people laugh. I can't wait for the next installment.

Step Into Liquid

The film to date that captures the essence of why we give up pursuits of fame and fortune and forsake the rat race to become soul surfers whatever our skill level is or evolves to be. "Step" offers up the best statements to date explaining the religous nature of surfing and why it becomes us and we become it. This greatest of all surf films even tops the two Endless Summer films by "dad." It is unfortunate for stressed-out middle class middle America that, unlike Endless Summer I, it will not play to sold-out crowds in most cities in most states. (Endless I had waiting lines in Kansas City.) It is an epic travel/surf flick like its most famous predecessor, Summer I, but will not have the same across the board appeal due to the fact that we are all jet-setters and that the Discovery and Travel Channels have made the travelogue portion ho-hum. The accompanying monologue deserves a nomination. The segment on bringing the kids of Northern and Southern Ireland together through surfing is a tear-jerker to anyone with a heart and puts this timeless epic into a class all by itself in the genre of "Get Up and Go" surf movies.

"Are you gonna eat your tots?"

This is by far one of the greatest movies I have ever seen! I don't buy movies, but after renting this one week after week, just because I couldn't get enough of it, I finally bought it. And, let me tell you, 20-some viewings later, it still doesn't get old! You probably have to be of the younger MTV generation (under 35) to get the humor, but for those of us that do, this movie rocks! Gosh!
