Xena Season Three in Hand!

Compassion, Spirit, and Determination, are only a few of the emotions that are apparent in Xena Season Three. Like season One and Two, Xena (Lucy Lawless) is still seeking redemption for her dark past, but with the company from a light-hearted friend Gabrielle (Renee O? Conner), and with others like the amiable Joxer, Xena looks to be on her way. Season Three is packed with others such as the muscular and attractive Ares, with the puzzling Calisto and vain Aphrodite to name a few, and all Xena fans know the plots and story lines just keep getting better as Xena travels. It is episodes like the musical, "The Bitter Suite," that makes Season Three a set you MUST have. The episodes range from dramatic and deep to comedic and light hearted. This DVD set is enjoyable from start to finish and every episode is five stars. Get it now, and you'll see that there is nothing to critique, only room for admiration. BATTLE ON XENA!!!!

Where the art is

Where the heart is was an unexpected surprise when I saw it back in 1990 and it continues to catch my breath and stir my heart every time I see it. More than a story of poor little rich and spoiled kids or parents that just don't get their kids, this is a visually beautiful and fluid portrait of vastly different people. Some start out as family members and some join the family. The exploration and expressions of love and the true treasures of life are richly set in the artwork that flows across the screen and unites the story. A real treat for both the eye and the mind, it will delight the heart, wherever it is.

L.O.G.- killer metal at it's finest

This is one of the best music DVD's I've seen. The live show shot in philly has great sound and the camera work is really good. The main thing that I think makes this DVD awesome is how the director incorporated live footage of the band hanging out and basically "on tour" between songs. This aspect really breaks the monotony of watching a live performance on a TV. The set list they used is amazing, it has killer songs from all three lamb of god albums. It also contains some good interviews with the band in sort of like a get to know your metal band segment. If you like L.O.G. pick this DVD up, it'll make you love 'em.

Well Done!

What I liked best about the film is the inventive way that the story was told using the Poloroid photos and the main character, (well acted) by Sean P. Hayes, talking to the audience. We all agree that the drag queen sequences are great! Watch the opening credits more than once. And it was really great to hear Petula Clark again. I've screened it for straight and gay friends & all agreed that the film is "SO SPECIAL". A must see fun comedy for the 90's!

Not a waste of money to own!!!!!!! Best show ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, i don't know where to start, but i first watched Rosewell when it came on TV a few years back. I was hooked to the first few episodes, but then i was unable to keep up with the new episode that came after.. I was amazed to see the first season come out on DVD. I bought the DVD because i wanted to see the episodes that i missed, but to my surprise, my sister and i watched the whole first season within a week!! I'm not a Sci fi fan at all, but the love i have for the idea and the execution made me over look that.
Its really a must have for every home!!!!

The Santa Clause 2

I thought this was a great movie. I liked the first one, but I think this one is even better, especially since they have the people in this movie as was in the first one. As soon as it comes out on DVD I am going to buy it. It seems good to have a movie that anyone can go to. We need more of these. I might be old fashioned but I like family movies as well as the older ones.

The evil is made by mankind

Although the Canadian version of this disc is recommended, this movie is great fun nonetheless. A little Jaws, a little Crouching Tiger, a little 18th century period piece and a little Native American mysticism add up to a rollicking good time. Not a great movie, but greatly enjoyable. The real-life husband/wife team of Monica Belluci and Vincent Cassel, along with great scenery and martial arts action, make this one a cheesy joy.

Best movie I've seen this year

In the UK Lost In Translation has only been on release a couple of weeks, and when I finally got round to seeing it last night I was blown away. The movie's about two people who find each other at a time in their lives where nothing seems to fit, where they're desperate, bored and lonely. Bob Harris (Murray) used to be a famous movie star but now he's sold out, travelling to Japan to film a set of whisky commercials. Staying at the same hotel is Charlotte (Johannsson), who is the centre of the realisation that she doesn't know her husband of two years (Ribisi) and feels unable to explain it to anyone. The two people eventually meet, finding solace in the amazing backdrop of Tokyo arcades, temples and karaoke bars. Many may accuse the film of being boring, and it's true, nothing really happens. But that's the point. The characters don't need any plot contrivances to push their relationship forward. This is a movie about the kind of meeting of someone you know you're in love with from moment one, your soul-mate, but knowing that it can never work out. In a lot of ways this sounds clich?d, but LIT is anything but. It's focus on the blossoming relationship of the couple is inspiring.
I've never seen Murray in a better role, his kind of world-weary character hidden behind a comic defense is nothing short of brilliant. Johannsson is a genuine star in the making, and deserves the highest kind of praise for her performance. Holding herself confidently with a hidden vulnerability, it's a multi-faceted performance which complements Murray's one perfectly. There are also some nice supporting turns and characters hidden here as well. Ribisi (narrator of Coppola's previous movie The Virgin Suicides) is just the kind of person you meet in real life who's primarily concerned with image, with having the perfect wife and the perfect job, rather than whether this is what he really wants. There's also a hilarious character in a young actress starring in a kung-fu movie. If Bob and Charlotte are the emotional centrepiece of the movie, then she is the laughs. Pretentious, self-abosorbed but totally believable, she's a great comic actress.
Crucially, Coppola proves with Lost In Translation that she's a dab hand at creating dreamy landscapes, believable relationships and subtly complicated characters. It's particularly impressive that she not only directed but also wrote the movie and shows her to be one of the most promising new directors in Hollywood (alongside Christopher Nolan). Just like The Virgin Suicides, there are a lot of silent shots of landscape, of characters staring into the distance. With Lost In Translation, much of these shots are of Johannsson visiting temples or watching flower arranging. These provide a nice counterpoint to the humour the film makes of Japan in the director of Bob's commercials and a hilarious Japanese talk show. LIT is an achievement of the best sort: gently humorous, beautiful, and genuinely touching.

Incredibly lush, funny, and tragic

This is one of the strangest and most undescribable movies I have ever seen. All the characters in this story are tragic and complex. The performances are all top notch. The story is very lush and you are easily lost and caught up in it. The cinematography is beautiful. The music well bound to the scenes that are shown. I highly recommend that you see this movie. Its definitely a thinker and you'll be compelled to rewatch the movie right after you finish watching it for the first time.
