Xcellent DVD, not for CGA-heads though

This is a DVD you should buy essentially for music, and especially if you love techno. I mean, you get Kevin Saunderson, Hardfloor and Dave Clarke mixes all on one DVD!! Theses were defining mixes when they first came out, especially the Saunderson and Clarke ones. On top of that, you get the animation which was utterly amazing in 1999, but may be a bit dated to some. It is much much better than what you can get at your local rave by any means. Animations are short clips that fit a single song, and they are not the repetitive and abstract type you found in the early 90s. They are more thematic and tend to tell a mini-story.

All in all a must have for ravers and people looking for the best techno and electro the 90s had to produce. Obviously, people looking for cutting edge 2005 computer graphic animation should look elsewhere.

RAMROD!

This movie is awesome. The previews for both this movie and Club Dread sucked. Yet both movies are full of off the wall humor that keeps you laughing the whole way through. Highly recommended if you feel like watching something you don't have to think about.

A great emotional film of faith, forgiveness & triumph!

This movie is definetly worth your time. And unlike some similar movies, it's based on fact not fiction. Great moving performances really drive this movie, but that doesn't mean the other technical areas fail. Director Cunningham did a tremendous job of filming and the editing is superb. Definetly rent it first, because it's not for everybody. But I think you'll be won over by it once you see it.

The Matrix - movie DVD cover picture
Objective reality discovered and the fight to maintain it!

I found this film to be an incredibly well integrated look at the philosophy of modern man. A great deal of the foundational plot twists follow the concept of _Atlas_Shrugged_, and the story's action is first-rate without being gratuitous.
The story follows Thomas Anderson (a.k.a., Neo) as he pursues an answer to the nagging suspicion that something is fundamentally wrong with the world. Like Galt's men of ability, Neo is chosen for his talents and unwillingness to flinch in the face of adversity.
He is enslaved by the very talents that make him who he is, and his motive power is being used to sustain a world that is, at base, a fantasy. Just as with _Atlas_Shrugged_, a single man identifies the truth, assembles a team of those capable of identifying the truth, and they continue to recruit and fight until they can stop the motor of a corrupt world.
The parallels are comfortably ensconced throughout the movie, and one gains the impression that the writing here was designed for numerous levels of comprehension and enjoyment. In its own right, "The Matrix" is a top-notch action film, but it is also a paean to individualism and philosophical freedom: "...as long as the Matrix exisits, man cannot ever truly be free."
A key and aptly named player, Morpheus, tells Neo that everyone in the world is so "hopelessly inured" in the matrix that they are not ready to be freed; consequently, they will fight to protect their system--meaning that, until their liberation, they remain enemies to the cause of liberation.
Even those characters that seem a little contrived can be considered as rational players in the overall plot. For instance, there is an Oracle that each of the rebels goes to visit for insight. The Oracle is less of a visionary that a resource than a source of inspiration, for she tells her callers only what they need to here in order to be successful. In all, this was a first-rate film with a trememdously solid cast and truly enjoyable writing.

Lots of Belly Laughs

I enjoyed this DVD from the start till the end. That's not just because of the excellent humour shown in this picture. There's also this first class anamorphic widescreen quality. Unlike some other lables like WARNER, Dreamworks clearly has understood the needs of today's customers for the use of modern technology. People who are unhappy with widescreen should stick with watching full frame VHS tapes!

Another Depp triumph

I found this film to be riveting and thought provoking. Depp was as usual outstanding. I loved the fact that this film requires one to use their mind and imagination. Far from being dissapointed in the ending, I thought it was perfect and fitting.

Totally Kick butt, Buy it Now!!!

This is one of the best mafia movies I have ever seen in my life. It has to be right up there with the Godfather. It has a great vivid story, interseting characters, and good monologue from Joe Pesci and Robert De Nero. I say again go buy it, you will not be disapointed.
