X-Files on the big screen!

I had been waiting for this movie for a long time. I am a fan of the series and I can say that everything about the movie is great. Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny gave their best performances and the movie's international success was expected. A lot of fans have said that the movie can not be compared to the series and that's completely right because there is no way you can compare them. The series are more important but the movie was made for a lot of reasons like to make more money and make the series more popular. And I think the producers achieved what they wanted.

For the Children

A touching, human, and beautiful film, "Grave of the Fireflies" is the "Fantasia" of anime. Its characters are so very realistic, and its atmosphere so moving and elegaic, that this film stands as a portrait of the human spirit. It is certainly one of the most powerful films that I've ever seen, a tribute to every child that has ever died. Magnificent and haunting. It will live on in the mind and soul forever.

Healing Reiki

I think if Reiki is something you wish to learn, then you would be better off taking a class. This did not really teach much. Even in small town USA, you can find classes if you look. I do not feel I got a benifit from this tape. After Taking a Reiki, first degree class from a Master instructor. Not only have I had truely profound advancements in my ability to be of service to others and help them heal but all of my metaphysical abilities have improved. Of the friends I have recommended the class to including my mother, each and every one has had profound changes that can only be considered a magnificent blessing beyond words. It was worth the extra money to take a class. Take no short cuts. Realize just how close you are to the devine and how rewarding it is to be of service to others.

Leelee Sobieski is my fav!

A Soldier's Daughter Never Cries is a beautiful depiction of the different stages of a family's life through the eyes of the daughter Charlotte-Ann (Channe). The movie takes place, for the most part in France, where the young girl first experiences gaining an adopted little brother. From there, during her early teenage years she meets a character named Francis Fortescue who loves the opera and becomes Channe's best friend. The father (Chris Christopherson) is having heart trouble and decides to move the family back to the US. Both children handle this change in different ways, the adopted son (Billy) becomes a couch potato and antisocial. Channe reacts by starting to drink, have sex, etc... I won't spoil the ending but let me just say that this is a great traditional movie about how close a family be and how people can solve their problems by sticking together. I have to admit, however, the reason I gave this film such a high rating is because Leelee Sobieski who plays (Channe) is my favorite actress and she is awesome! The movie as a whole is also one of the best I've seen.

Finally, A Good Dinosaur Movie!

Yes, I know the movie's old, but when it first came out and I was a preteen, it scared me! And even back then it was hard to scare me. The dinosaurs were nearly real, and I believe that this is the first of many movies that are better than any other animatronic animals you'll ever see. The plot is crystal clear and it's a sure thriller!!

Schrek is a great movie...,one for all ages

This is a great movie. I saw it on the big screen with my 16 year old, who went in thinking that this was just another cartoon. As it turned out, this was animation at its best and we were thrilled with this movie.Eddie Murphy was sooo funny as the donkey side kick. This one is a must see and I recommend this movie for the entire family.

It's short but it sure is charming

I was born in 1983 so I missed the "classic" Disney era, so I grew up on the Disney formula of late which is to have about 5 songs in the span of an hour and it does get irritating where a character would do something than just break into song. In the classic days, there was usually songs in the background done by a choir or a character in the film but it wouldn't seem instrusive like Aurora in Sleeping Beauty. Bambi looks like a simple film but there's quite a lot going on for it.

If the introduction reminds you of the Lion King, this is where those guys got the idea for their film. It starts with the birth of the prince Bambi, a deer who's extremely timid and doesn't have the greatest of balance. He eventually befriends Thumper, a mischievous rabbit and Flower, a really happy skunk(I hate to say gay but you'll see what I mean).

From there we explore Bambi as he understands his new world, from knowing the distance between a bird and a butterfly, the slipperyness of ice and other life lessons, including the loss of a loved one. I remember being about 5 watching the scene with Bambi's mother and since her death(as if it's a spoiler at this point) is offscreen, I couldn't understand what happened since as kids, we can't really think outside the box and put 2 and 2 together.

It's interesting that when I showed people that I bought this, a lot of them couldn't understand that why I, a big fan of Aliens, Terminator 2 and the Godfather would watch Bambi but really there's 2 things: it is a charming film if you watch it knowing you're watching a Disney film and 2, apparently mothers really find it adorable if you watch these willingly.

The one thing as usual I can't stand with Disney and you probably hate this too is the fact that Disney releases a film for awhile then they completely call back the DVD's that didn't sell and keep them. I can't find Beauty and the Beast anywhere and Alice in Wonderland is extremely rare to find. I found one copy of Aladdin and go figure, Disney forgot to put the damn movie in the case so I exchanged it for this instead. So I'd suggest picking this up not only for it's rarity but for it's charm.
