Wonderful video

I'm a huge Baby Einstein fan. I bought my daughter Baby Mozart when she was 5 1/2 months and she loved it. Now at 8 1/2 months we own several of theses videos. Baby Shakespeare is her favorite. She enjoys this video so much. Loves Bard. Julie is a genius. Love everything about this video. Put together very well.

WWE Summerslam 2002

Kurt Angle vs. Rey Mysterio 8/10 Great opener. Their styles really went well together.
Ric Flair vs. Y2J 8/10This match was the Figure 4 vs. Walls of Jericho. Great match. Good to see Ric Flair win as well.
Eddie Guerrero vs. Edge 8/10 Edge winning was the best part. The match was very fast paced.
WWE Tag Titles Un-Americans vs. Booker T & Goldust 6/10I hate the Un-Americans. Booker T & Goldust were really good. They would have won it if it wasn't for Test.
IC Title
Raw's RVD vs. Smackdown!'s Chris Beniot 7/10This was a good match too. RVD's high flying style against Chris Beniot's technical style.
Undertaker vs. Test 6/10 Ok match not great but the Undertaker won it for the Americans.
HBK vs. HHH 10/10 All of HBK and HHH matches are great. This wasn't any different. HBK's first match since 1998 and he still can go.
Rock vs. Brock 9/10This was good but could have been better. Heyman getting the Rock Bottom through a table was the best part. It was a little overhyped and The Rock should have won.
Get Summerslam for HBK vs. HHH it was a great match!!!

Stones live 1998

Excellent Stones concert. IMO Gimmie Shelter, It's Only Rock and Roll, Waiting on a Friend and Flip The Switch are the highlights. Keith is very strong thoughout. I don't have the other Stones DVDs- so I can't compare. Having said that, I've seen the Stones in concert many times (starting in 78). This is an excellent show.

Classic Story on DVD

Cyrana de Bergerac is finally out on DVD! This is one fine classic movie. I have been waiting for a company to release this on DVD and Marengo Films has done an outstanding job. My old VHS tape was a really bad version, not that this looks like it was shot yesterday, but it is clean and the blacks and whites look wonderful. As far as classic films that are hard to find, I would suggest you take a look at Marengo Films. Doug Wood -Video Classics

Make room for Nadia!

Studio Gainax's Hideaki Anno directed this NHK produced tv series which aired in the early nineties. This enigmatic and thoroughly entertaining series is the whimsical dexter to Evangelion's sinister. Ironically, both works feature biblical icons and cautionary moral tales. This story is loosely based on Jules Vernes 20,000 leagues under the sea, but features a cast of characters mirroring a greek tragedy. The first few episodes are action packed, and set this powerful story in motion. I believe that the properly subtitled complete version will place this work with Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind, Honneamis and Evangelion. I hope to see a DVD collector's version.

Opera rarity

Here's a wonderful performance of Manon Lescaut. The Met's lavish production is complemented by the most wonderful singing I have ever heard from Renata Scotto & Placido Domingo. Scotto's voice nearly at her best is sung with the most passionate drama quite rare these days. Well recommended!

A Classic!

First of all, please get the DVD (buy a DVD player if you have too, it's worth it!). Once you've got that done, you're made in the shade!
This is THE BEST of the Beatles movies by far. First of all, the music. It's great, and ten billion times better digitally remastered and sounds great on a DVD system. You really need either fifty different speakers hidden around your living room (or headphones, for the financially challenged, like me) to truly appreciate the sound.
Second, the art. It's amazing, I've never seen anything like it since. It's even more amazing in it's restored clarity. It's very 60s!
Third, the story. Very trippy and freeflowing, reminiscent of "Alice in Wonderland". It's filled with little jokes and puns to keep you on your toes.
Finally (and the reason I got it), it's got "Hey Bulldog"! This segment alone is worth $25. It's also got several other restored sequences, plus your usual DVD extras (trailers, documentary, interview). Another cool feature is you can watch the movie with music only. It's amazing!
Nothing quite like it, do yourself a favor and get this one. Don't forget the songtrack too! It's got all the songs featured in the movie in remastered form.

Chilling Performance

James Franco's performance certainly deserves a Golden Globe. Not another imitation of a film icon, but a recreation that brings to the surface the emotional turmoil behind Hollywood's rebel. Excellent portayals by all.
