Wonderful Movie!!

Totally charming movie with surprisingly good cast and depth to script. Haven't heard one negative from anyone who has seen it--including all age groups, whether child, teenager, adult and retired adult--That's quite unusual.

Jeff Bridges deserved an Oscar for this one!!!

To see Jeff Bridges transform himself from his normal straight-laced, hardworking-type characters to Jeff Lebowski, an overweight, slovenly bowling fanatic, is truly amazing. Where was the man's Oscar nomination?!?
The plot may be a bit ludicrous, but pound-for-pound, it is as funny as any Coen brothers film, or as funny as ANY other film, for that matter. The interactions between Bridges and bowling buddies Steve Buscemi (his normal, wormy, squinting self) and John Goodman (a big crazy, militant nut, to say the least) are priceless.
The supporting cast is hilarious, also: John Tuturro as Jesus, the pederast Latin bowler ("Dios Mio, man..."), Juliane Moore as a feminist modern painter, and Flea (of the Red Hot Chili Peppers) as a nihlist mobster ("Ya, vhere's da money, Leh-bow-skee?") are among the many highlights.
The movie's quotability factor is through the roof. Go bowling after this movie, and you'll find yourself reciting 10-minute scenes. I would've admittedly given this movie three stars after I saw it for the very first time, but each viewing since, it has just gotten better and better. And a quick fact for you LEBOWSKI afficianados: The older Lebowski was one of the townspeople in BLAZING SADDLES. Watch it, watch it twice, you won't be disappointed.

Underrated and Brilliant

This is the best hindi movie i have seen for some time.Yes, even better than lagaan. The whole movie is beautifully made and you can see the effort the team has made to make this movie. Those who say that the movie is not historically correct are missing the whole point.if you want history you better watch the discovery channel. The movie starts with the young prince, Asoka when he escapes from his own kingdom to please his mother who fears for his life from his evil brothers. He wanders around and meets a girl with whom he falls in love. The rest of the film is about his journey on the way to become one of the greatest known emperor of all times. The movie is basically a love story and is very sensitively handled by the director.Especially the last scene where he gets transformed is enough to bring tears to the eyes. Santosh Sivan has done tremendous work and he should be proud of it.Kareena Kapoor also has done a great job and by far the best thing she has done uptill now.But the star of the whole show is Shahrukh khan. Those who have earlier criticised his acting will now beat the dust.Along with Dil Se, this film should be a landmark in his career, which shows his growing up as an actor. The way in which he brings Asoka to life should make any actor feel proud. At the end of the movie, the scene which will remain in my memory is Asoka standing, staring in the sky, rain washing away his tears.

Lord of the Rings is a great movie!

When I first heard of this movie I was worried about the rating. I detest violence. However I was suprised. The gore waas spread out, which made it pretty watchable. That wasn't all, though. The actors were absolutly perfect, especialy Gandalf. The script was great, and I was just shocked by the special effects, so much so that I just had to by all the books on the making of this movie that I could find. Also, sitting on my desk, are the entire set of Lord Of The Rings action figures?. IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS FILM WATCH IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!! It's great!

What a show!!!

In only one word: INCREDIBLE. Robbie really rocks. This concert is the prove that some artist were born to sing nice songs and other ones to make people go crazy. This show is not only Robbie's performance, but it's also the band, chorus, the stage, those beautiful dancers (Kate & Nikky: What a HOT, HOT Girls!!!).
I bought this DVD some months ago and I didn't know which songs were included on this. When I saw it, the first thing I liked was the great interactive menu. That's a really good job. Not only for the animations and images, but the sound and background songs. So, at first sight: 5/5
Then, the track list. there are almost all Robbie Williams greatest songs. But I regreted two missing: "MILLENNIUM" and "SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL" (not played in the concert). But after watching this concert I got satisfied. The order of these songs are really nice, starting with "LET ME ENTERTAIN YOU", "WE WILL ROCK YOU" and going to a wondeful "MONSOON". A quieter part of the show comes with "SHE'S THE ONE", but it contrast with inmediately played "SUPREME". "KIDS" and "HOT FUSGE" are greatly complemented with those wonderful girls dancing all around the stage... That nice variant on starting of "ROCK DJ" really make people shout: "LAST NIGHT A DJ SAVED MY LIFE" then Robbie coming up from below the stage and those pretty girls doing their dance around him... The concert finish with a emotive "ANGELS". So, my qualification is 5/5
Robbie as a showman: Unique. He's always playing and talking to attendance. He's dancing and running, that's a prove of his energy and enthusiasm for giving people more than they espect from him. He's mad when he had, but he's also touched by his emotions as "FEEL" shows us. It's something difficult to explain but Robbie's behavior store many different ways of express his happiness and madness. He even call a girl to kiss her... many things we cannot see in ther concerts. 5/5
In conclusion: If you're a Robbie fan, it's your duty buying this DVD. You'll never see him like this again... Thinking twice... You will. But this is a chance to have all those things we couldn't see live and direct. If you're not a Robbie fan or maybe you haven't heard about him, BUY this DVD, to see how a great singer should guide a live show.
As Robbie said at Knetworth: THIS IS ROBIE WILLIAMS, THIS IS MY BAND... AND FOR THE NEXT TWO HOURS, YOUR ASS IS MINE!

Awesome!

I couldn't get enough of this movie and I went 3 times to the movie theater to see it.I didn't know anything about Mandy Moore or Shane West before but both of the leading characters were "marvelous"!
I also loved the music and couldn't believe that Mandy sang some of the -very powerful- songs. There was even a song that Shane and his band performed!
I really can't wait 'till the movie gets released on DVD!!!

All in the Family - The Complete First Season - movie DVD cover picture
THE REVOLUTIONARY GROUND BREAKING SERIES THAT STARTED IT ALL

Songs that Glen Miller played, songs that made the "hit parade" ... were lyrics to the theme song to the revolutionary ground breaking television series that started it all in 1970, the year I was born.
All in The Family was a ground breaking televison series that starred the late Carroll O'Connor (who played the lovable but much bigoted Archie Bunker who died in 2001), Jean Stapleton (who played Edith Bunker with much sympathy), Sally Struthers (who plays littel giol Gloria, who would later play ambassador to starving African children) and of course, Rob Reiner who was the famous Meathead (who is the social Liberal - who would later be more successful in directing movies).
All in the Family was also a revolutionary television series that had our much lovable but much bigoted Archie bring up topics and shares his way of views of poverty, blacks, minorities, women, gays, the Bible, Nixon, socialism vs. conservativism, Watergate, etc; which was a bold move for television back in the day but the series had people talking and lasted 10 seasons from 1970 - 1979. Much of the mentioned issues were of course, tackled with much comic effect.
All in the Family also introduced us to Ediths' Cousin Maude (played by Bea Arthur) would have her own spin off series, MAUDE, which lasted 7 seasons from 1972 - 1978. Also, the Jeffersons, the Bunkers next door neighbour, who would later have their own spin off series as well, THE JEFFERSONS, which was the most successful spin off in television history, which lasted 11 seasons from 1975 - 1985. ALso, some great characters, like Irene and Frank Lorenzo (played by Betty Garrett and the late Vincent Gardenia), Beverely La Salle (played by the late Divine who appeared in three later episodes) and much more.
The Complete First Season has thirteen episodes in all ...
"Meet the Bunkers" has Edith and Archie celebrating their 22nd Anniversary but there is a heated discussion on whether Archie is predujiced. Lionel comes to Archie's aid with much comic results.
"Writing the President" has both Micheal and Archie writing a letter to President Nixon with opposite views of what is wrong with America.
"Oh, My Aching Back" has Archie suffering those whiplash blues when he is rearended while moonlighting as he demands he be represented by a Jewish lawyer.
"Judging Books By Its' Covers" has Gloria and Mike inviting their friend Roger for a lunch who Archie thinks is gay but it is Archie's beer drinking buddy who is, as Roger is straight.
"Archie Gives Blood" has Archie and Mike at the blood bank donating blood as Archie demands to know where his blood is going but faints at his own bag of blood.
"Gloria's Pregnancy", has Gloria thinking she is pregnant.
"Mike's Hippie Friends Come to Visit" the Bunkers as Archie is steaming mad and is up in a mad uproar when the visitoors deicde to spend the night that has Archie sharing his views on unmarried couples.
"Lionel Moves into the Neighbourhood" has Archie steaming mad when he finds out that he will have a black family as neighbours. The episode that introduced us to the Jeffersons.
"Edith has Jury Duty" has Edith on jury duty on a much controversial murder case that may have away from the house for a long time. A classic episode, written by Susan Harris, who created the Golden Girls.
"Archie is Worried About His Job" has Archie worried that he may lose his job due to job cutbacks. He tries to find out from the night guard if his job may be affected.
"Gloria Discovers Womans' Lib" has Gloria devouring books of Womens' Lib and demands that all people in the household are all equal and shall be treated as equals.
"Success Story" has an old army buddy of Archies' paying a visit to the household as the buddyshares his successful life story with the Bunkers.
"The First and Last Supper" has Archie fuming as Edith accepts an invitation of dinner with the Jeffersons at the Bunkers' house.
All in the Family Complete First Season begins and ends quite well. There are three DVD's in this package along with an Episode Guide Booklet. There are no extra feautures on this DVD package but just having this DVD is an "Extra Feauture" in its own right. A must have for fans of the series.

Faith is Such a Great addition to the Series

I really started getting into Buff closer to the end of Season 2. I remember crying as the song came on and wondering what could Buffy Summers go thru that is much tougher. Well the 3rd season provide to be in my opinion one of the best seasons ever written. It brought upon "finally" the Mayor's involvement w/the town of Sunnydale. It is hinted through out the first two seasons and REALLY brought to life w/the Ascention and everything. I'm a huge fan of Eliza's work (Faith) I felt that she really did a wonderful job bring to life the "rouge slayer" who turns towards the darker sides of her gift. She lights up the screen from the first punch to the last "B" (her favorite name to call Buffy). The chemistry she has w/ everyone on the show is great. Faith and Willow facing off, Faith being chained to listen to Angel speak of how killing can change a person. Even down to the climax of the fight between Buffy and Faith when Buffy must choose to fight Faith in order to save Angel from dying. NOTHING so far from what the show has brought to life has been more compelling then this Season. It mixes so well a cross of so many characters. The love tramas between OZ, Willow, Cordy, and Xander are so well played out you really can understand the heartbreak of broken-trust, and mis-guided ideas. One of my favorite eps (suprising not a Faith one) is The Wish, which shows Vampire Willow and Xander and a Different Slayer in Buffy. It was so interesting to watch these people have to act as though they haven't know each other for years, be complete strangers. Plus the Master is always a nice tough. He and the Mayor could of done some SERIES damage in Sunnydale.
If and when they do release this (next winter 03!! Joss you are killing me here) it would be shame to pass-up such a beautiful series in the Buffy-saga. And it is nice to see the repeats of what brought upon The Key in season 5. Though the relationship between it is confusing.
Of course you can watch all of the seasons on Fox Family, or UPN which I incourage anyone to do. Buffy has been a series that if filled w/sharp writing and terrific journies that explore the reality of the world, in a fantastical kind of way.

Long before Titanic, there was Somewhere In Time!!

This movie is The Best love story movie ever made. It is only second to "The Wizard Of Oz" . Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymore portray the most moving charaters that ever hit the screen. Have a box of Kleenex tissues as there will NOT be a dry eye in the house. If this movie does NOT touch your heart, nothing ever will and you need to make an appointment with your doctor to see if you have a heart. A must to see 100 times. END
