Why did this bomb at the box office?

It was with trepidation that I bought this DVD as I had heard so many bad reviews and it had failed at the cinema. To my delight I thought it was great. I really got into the characters, the special effects were stunning and you saw both angles from both the American and Japanese sides. Was it factually correct? I don't know but it was a thrill a minute and the 3 hours flew by. I watch a movie to be entertained and taken away from the strains of every day life and this did if for me. As with Armageddon it was way over the top but blooming great!!

2 Thumbs Up!

We first saw this video when we went to a children's hair salon for my daughter's first haircut. They had TV/VCR combos at every station and put this tape in for us. My daughter was so mesmorized she barely even noticed the woman cutting her hair! I was so worried her first hair cut would be awful...thank goodness for Elmo! I recommend it for any Elmo fan.

The Village

The movie is about the powers of love, not fright. Yes, this is not a horror movie (I too was disappointed), but it had to be advertised as such. Otherwise, the twist would have been given away.

As some of my friends disliked the movie with passion, I loved it. I thought it was incredibly smart and intensely moving. The protagonist is a blind young girl that will go to unimaginable extents to rescue the love of her life.

I found the parallels in this film quite potent. The power of instilling fear in society, the power of denial, the power of conviction and ultimately the power of love were all depicted with sheer finesse. Aside from some really bad acting (what's wrong Sigourney Weaver?), the movie was impeccably beautiful.

Go see it with an open mind and you will love it. Go see it expecting a horror film and you will hate it. It's your call.

Not Enough Stars to Rate This Gem Folks!

What to say? My favorite album of all-time, dissected right before my very eyes. WOW!!!! From insights into the songs, to mixing/recording technique chat with Alan Parsons, David Gilmour, etc one could not want much more. This is a definite "must-have" for all Floyd fans. Heck, for music fans in general! Do yourselves a favor and RUN don't walk to the store to get this one. Right after I watched it for the 1st time, I played it again. The credits hadn't even began to roll when I started it again!! I plan on watching this gem again tonight. A masterpiece for the ages.

Jackass The Movie, Great Movie, Even better DVD

Critics hated it, fans loved it. No one can really describe why we loved the "Jackass" TV series so much, but when I heard a movie was coming out, I couldn't wait. Something that sets this apart from other comedies is this is actually happening, these aren't actors, this is real life stuff.
All in all, if you like the show, you will love the movie. The opening scene has to be one of the greatest openings for any movie of all time, and it really sets the tone for how great the movie is. I won't spoil anything, but "Burglars", "Golf Course Air Horn", and "Hardware Poop (I think that's what it's called)", are some of the best. My only complaints with the movie is that it could've been longer, and they could've cut down on the male nudity, which I think we can all agree, there was a little too much of.
Overall, I don't see how I can complain about anything in this movie because I have never laughed so hard in the theater in my life. You will react to everything that they do, eveytime they fall, you will feel it. This is one of the movies that will make all old people say "damn teenagers" over and over in their heads. And it will make airhorns fly off the shelves, but hopefully Toy Car sales won't increase (Watch the movie). A hilarious movie, and we can only hope for a part 2.
Now, the DVD, which I expected to be short of spectacular, was actually very good. It has around 30 minutes of bonus footage, which nearly all of it is all new stuff cut from the movie. If you think the movie is too short, this really fills in the whole time problem. Not only does the DVD have alot of new funny material, but it has TV spots, Music videos, Outtakes, "Making of the Movie" from MTV, and a lot more. And yes, it contains even more male nudity! AAHH!
The movie is like nothing we've seen before at the theater, it's hilarious, and the DVD is jam packed with extras, including about 30 minutes of brand new footage. You cannot go wrong with this DVD purchase, if you don't laugh at some of this stuff, you need to start enjoying yourself more. Great, great movie, Even better DVD...

Mago de Oz.....they blow me away

This has to be the best concert DVD ever. Every song Mago de Oz performs is done to perfection. Seeing this DVD makes me want to hop the next flight to Spain to see the sights, meet the people, and go to a Mago de Oz concert. If any of the following bands appeal to you, you'll be floored by Mago de Oz: Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Flogging Molly, Van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen, Hammerfall, etc. The included biographical DVD also gives you a little look behind the scenes. All in all, a superb DVD, and worth every penny.

The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland - movie DVD cover picture
Elmo Fun for 2-3 year olds

My daughter has graduated from watching Elmo's world to watching Elmo's movies. She is a lil over 2 years old and will actually curl up on her couch with her blanket to watch this. She's normall all over the house. It's a little over an hour so it gives me plenty of time to make dinner and clean up or even take a breather for myself. Elmo won't share his blanket and ends up losing it in Oscar's can. He journeys to Grouchland to get back his blanket and along the way he learns alot about taking others feelings into consideration. Huxley has his blanket, along with alot of other things that don't belong to him and the Sesame Street gang stand by Elmo and help him get his blanket back. Great fun that teaches kids to share without them even realizing.

Bears more resemblance to a Sci-Fi channel original...

Doesn't quite fit the campy standard set by the previous three films. It's a lot darker. Terrence Mann turns evil and gets shot. *sob*
