Whale of a Tale

_Whale Rider_ is one of the best movies I have seen this year. The script and story were beautiful, and the cast was superb. I greatly enjoyed learning more about the modern Maori, and about the legends of their people. Keisha Castle-Hughes stole the show with her depiction of a young Maori girl who is looking for her place in the world. I hope to see Miss Castle-Hughes in many other films: she is extremely talented.
The DVD has a very nice Behind-the-Scenes segment, as well as commentaries and still photos. After seeing the movie, it was great to see how it was made, and more details about the director, and the actors.

Heartbreaking

Respect to all involved in the production of this movie, it was absolutely heartbreaking. This is a moving tale of love and war, which also tells the story of the Italian massacre to which a huge amount of people do not know about. Anyone can enjoy this movie, it has just the right amount of romance, comedy and action. Performances by Nicolas Cage and Penelope Cruz were intoxicating. This is a must see!!

A great Troughton episode

This video is one of the best Troughton Who adventures. The main monsters are the Ice Warriors, who were unfortunately cut from the series after Jon Pertwee. The only bad aspect is the fact that it is not in episodic form

A Stitch in Time Saves a Little Girl

I would not normally view a motion picture like this one. I went for the sound track. I am a huge Elvis fan. As you know, the soundtrack was based on the music of Elvis Presley.
I did enjoy the story too. A little girl adopts, what she thinks is an ugly dog, but in reality is an alien that looks like a purple koula bear with 6 legs.
The girl, Lilo, names the dog Stitch. In the meantime, two henchmen, aliens themselves, come to Earth to retrieve the purple what-ever-it-is. At the same time the CIA wants to seperated Lilo from her big sister. (I don't know why, I came into the movie late) All sis has to do is keep a job. But Stitch is a trouble-maker. Every job sis gets Stitch has a hand, or hands, in losing for her.
I was not disappointed in the music. I enjoyed the creatures. I especially liked the henchmen's spaceship. It looked like a large fire engine red MD-11. Very cool.
I highly recommend "Lilo and Stitch" for the entire family. Cammy Diaz A @ L.

Great!!

This movie is so [bad]. Very bad animation for an anime movie. The digivolving is [not so good] cause it wastes time when digimon are digivolving and after the battle they just turn into ... baby digimon. The pokemon evolution is very correct since they don't ... de-evolve. When there is sad parts in the movie the digidestined act all emotional and start crying in not sad parts. It justs makes me crack up when they cry in the ... sad parts. this is like a [poor] copy of the Pokemon movies that failed. It's a total waste of time seeing this movie. I TOTALLY DESPISE DIGIMON!

You know her too!

This is one of those movies that you will want to add to your Christmas story collection.

Marina (Demi Moore) lives on the South Carolina coast with Grammy D'Arbo (Elizabeth Lawrence). She has a dream that she will meet her split apart. Then she sees a two tailed comet as a defiant sign. Sure enough Leo Lemke (George Dzundza) shows up in a boat and she runs to great her future.

There are many overlapping stories of love and lovers. They all cross lives with Marina and she changes every thing. This greatly upsets the local "Shrink" Dr. Alex Tremor (Jeff Daniels).

One of the nice touches is that every ware Marina goes there is a slight breeze of fresh air.

This leaves two main questions:
Harper asks "Why does everything I touch die?"
Who gets the toad that "...will seal you love forever"?

Jeff Daniels

John Q. (Infinifilm Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
The superb :"John Q" with Denzel Washington

JOHN Q was an amazing , important piece of work by Nick Cassavetes. Wow. Seems both sad and ironic that I watch this during Fourth of July weekend, when we boast again about our Independence from England, yet our country is in a pitiful mess. This is a great performance by Denzel ranking up there with "Training Day", "Glory" and "Philadelphia". A couple of times he goes over the top as John Q, but his acting and emotions make his character believable. John Q is a working man, whose family is just getting by, you can say their poor, as when his wife car becomes repossessed by the bank. His family has medical insurance, where he pays $100 a month or so, although as we learn doesn't mean a damn thing when it REALLY MATTERS. His kid becomes sick and we learn that he has a bad heart. Q's only recourse is to give his kid a heart transplant at the behest of a greedy HMO Chiropractor played James Woods and the greedy , white hospital director Rebecca Payne played Anne Heche. These are some vile characters. Despite the claims that Hope Memorial hospital helps out everyone, in reality they help out the rich with fat checkbooks.
Q learns that PPO former medical plan has changed and that the hospital wont offer any help. So basically he has to watch his son die with the Hospital Director with her million dollar salary and others not giving a damn. Aint that sweet Capitalism and Greed triumphs over Loyalty and Values in America. Q takes matter into his own hands and well the rest is history. Nick Cassavetes through this powerful, great film brings into the focus the Disarray , and Greed in Medical Care in America. Despite the fact that we boast about being the greatest superpower, WE CANT even take care of our people and, sadly it seems that the person in charge don't care. Talk about impact this movie makes it. Sad to say I don't think the situation will change whether a Democrat or Republic will take office. See John Q!!! I bet Michael Moore has as his next movie will supposedly tackle the Health Care Industry. Cassavetes does a great job here I wouldn't be surprised if Moore borrows a lot for that films from this one.
Also look for James Woods as the equally vile rich patheticDr. Raymond Turner. He is the other part of the problem in this epidemic of greedy HMO's who don't care about the patient.
Ray Liotta coming his pathetic performance in "Hannibal" givesa somewhat better average performance as the corrupted ChiefPolice along with his main kissbutt sidekick LT. Frank Grimesplayed by Robert Duvall.

Fantastic!!!! Don't miss this greatest movie

I haven't had a satisfying movie for quite some time, well maybe 'You've got a mail' was okay bbut this is one of the greatest movie I have ever seen. I was even more surprised when I found out that Haly and Annie were played by one character Lindsay Lohan. (Maybe I am stupid) Anyway she is a superb actress I think she will have a great future. The combination of the music and the movie is perfect. If you want to refresh your memory of this movie you should get the sound track as well it is also superb. I recommend this movie to every one from children to adults. This is kind of movie which will stay in your mind for a long long time and make you wnat to be in the movie. Just watch it!, you will know what I mean.
