Having seen both this movie and "Fatal Attraction" this one is far and above the winner!! The standard upon which all "stalker" films should be based. Clint Eastwood does a fantastic job of acting and directing, though his character is a bit stupid. Point in case: When Jessica Walter (Evelyn Draper), the psycho, attempts suicide in his bathroom he should have had the police take her away to the "Psych" ward immediately!! But, then of course, we wouldn't have had the marvelous scene afterward where she hacks the maid, and embarrasses him at the restaraunt at his business meeting with the older woman who was trying to give him a better radio job. Walter is fantastic!! She steals every scene she is in! Unlike Glenn Close in "Fatal Attraction" one understands Eastwood's initial attraction for her. I never understood Michael Douglas's motive behind his attraction for Glenn Close because he was married to the beautiful Anne Archer who no man in his right mind would cheat on. Anyhow, this is about "Misty". The only scene that bogs the movie down is the "Monterey Jazz Festival" which drags on for nearly ten minutes and adds nothing to the plot. Aside from this though, the rest of the film is pure excitement! The scene where Eastwood is sleeping and wakes to find Walter standing over his bed with a butcher knife is enough to give anyone the willies...and this should be a lesson to everyone! Avoid premarital sex and make sure you get to know a person well enough before you start dating them and NEVER, EVER lead anyone on!

Shine the light on your life!!

Afro having freaks with bad teeth in white-magic satin robes and wizard mustaches rocking my bum-bum. They rock in a digital crystal cavern! They rock from within the single lens of a pair of cop sunglasses. THESE are the types of effects they should have used in Lord of The Rings!! Whoever thinks the visual effects on the videos in this are poor is a ding dong. Why? Because OF COURSE they look dated, thats the whole point! ELO was a liquid gold seventies trainwreck in full technicolor. Nobody does the seventies like ELO. This blew my mind when I saw it the other day.

Great style, pace, music

A little corny, but a great cult classic. The opening music playing over the credits while they're riding the subway puts you in the mood for the breakneck pace and great visuals of the film. The biggest question: WHEN WILL THEY RELEASE A RE-MASTERED DVD?

High level entertainment

Having heard most of Garner's piano works - including "Solo Time" and "Concert by the Sea" - I agree with mr. Nevagich on the musical quality of this DVD.It is a BBC production showing the Erroll Garner trio entertaining a London audience, circa 1964.Being a black-and-white recording in mono, sound and picture quality still has got a reasonable level. This is the first time I see Garner live, and was VERY impressed musically, technically and on a personal level.Errol Garner had this inexplicable charisma, which is adding to his performance - something I am sure people will appreciate when watching him.In his hands just about any piano-technical difficulty LOOKS easy. A sign of class, I would say.Kelly Martin on drums and Eddy Calhoun on bass are clever musicians backing him up in an intelligent way. It is obvious that they all are having a good time. This includes the audience who is working like "a fourth member of the group", as someone (maybe Garner himself) once said.As usual nothing is decided, Garner just plays whatever he feels, Martin and Calhoun follow their leader. That is what jazz is all about: playing what you feel.Garner was mentally and technically able of carrying this out into practice. The man for whom the piano was invented, someone said. The best piano player there ever was, says I.

One of my very FAVORITE movies!!!

This is definitely an all time favorite of mine, up there with A Christmas Story, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Star Wars and Indiana Jones films, the Disney Animations, and a handful of other perfect films! I know this is not a perfect adaptation of the novel, but if you ask me, this film is far better than the novel! It moves faster than the novel, which sometimes drags! This film says all that needs to be said without waisting time. I suppose that's why I tend to prefer movies to books. The acting is superb, as is the casting! I've seen several versions of the Tom and Huck stories, and this is by far my fave! If you want more choices though, click on my name and look for my Tom and Huck list. But don't go without this version, because while the Patrick Day version is the most loyal to the book and my second fave to watch, this is by far the best! I LOVE this film and can't say it enough. It's perfect to watch on a cold rainy night while baking cookies. Ha ha! It's exciting and relaxing at the same time! Please Disney, give us the DVD!!!!

YES-Keys to Ascension

As stated previously, the videography for this wonderful concert is nothing short of criminal. The video often does not sync up to the music, by varying degrees. The songs are cut up and not in their original performance order. Every effect the editor could think of to do with his VideoToaster is here. And maddeningly, too much of the concert footage is cut away to show non-concert shots of nature, etc. Having said this, as a Yes fan of 30 years (since 1971) I still give this 5 stars because the music is great and it is in 5.1 (although I don't notice any rear channel sound).
What is so sad, though, is that this could have been 1000% better by a few simple choices: fewer cheesy effects and more attention to the editing process (sound-to-video). This is a concert video (DVD). I (we) couldn't be there to see them live. Show us the concert. We do not want to be entertained by babbling brook nature graphics. And when you want to show non-performance footage, show us more of the audience! Audience shots are very rare here, and the few seconds shown during Roundabout reveal an excited, animated, dancing audience. They had at least four cameras for this concert. IMO they didn't use them wisely.
To see how concerts should be shown, see Rippingtons "Live in L.A." For more artistic video, see Santana "Sacred Fire." Buy this DVD for the music.
