Vivid Fantasy George Miller style

I resisted the pig. It wasn't until last year that my girlfreind convinced me to watch Babe. I liked it! Pig in the City is a worthy follow up. George Miller (Mad Max, The Road Warrior) uses striking camera angles to get us into the world of animals. We see things from their perspective, and the world is just a little more vibrant. The clever use of computer graphics and puppets are used to good effect. This film is a little darker than the first and probably isn't for small children. In the opening scene, the farmer is almost killed by Babe! The city scapes are beautiful, sort of a cross between Sydney and New York. The new characters in this film are the chimpanzees, a Orangatan, and several dogs. They hole up in a hotel until the neighbors call animal control, then it's up to Babe to make the rescue. In a curious ending, Miller goes back to the drawing board and returns with Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome! The farmers wife straps herself to a bungie cord and springs back and forth from the sides of a domed room! All in all this was a fun distraction from the garbage Hollywood is churning out at an alarming pace. Good original fiction. I wonder when the next Mad Max will be out? Maybe it will be Mad Babe instead!

This is an awesome set! I begged for it for my birthday from my fiance. It was almost $80 where I bought it, but it's worth every penny!

Not your average Gundam fare

"Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket" is one small offering in the Gundam multiverse, and it's also my favorite. Rather than glorifying combat, the military, and war itself, which the majority of Gundam's ten TV series, ten (soon to be thirteen) theatrical movies, and four direct-to-video series do (sometimes inadvertently), these three episodes are the first half of what is definitely Gundam's greatest anti-war statement (and perhaps the greatest one in all anime).

"Gundam 0080" is not an action-flick disguised as Science Fiction, as better-known Gundam titles like "Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory", "Gundam Wing", or even "Gundam: The 08th MS Team" are. This show is completely character-driven, though when battles are depicted (this is Gundam, after all, so there are battles, they simply aren't the focus for a change) they are among the best planned and animated fight sequences in Gundam's 25 year history, and the five-minute opening battle is one few fans can forget. But the show has only four mobile suit battles in six episodes, so if all you want is Big Guns and flashy explosions, try "Gundam Wing", "Z Gundam", or "Gundam SEED".

Although released in 1989, "Gundam 0080" remains one of the finest sections of the Gundam multiverse. No prior knowledge of any Gundam series is needed to enjoy this series, though having seen the original "Mobile Suit Gundam" TV series or Movie Trilogy certainly helps. There are no direct tie-ins with other shows set in Gundam's original Universal Century setting, "Gundam 0080" is a stand-alone.

This DVD covers the first half of the series, introducing the 11-year-old protagonist Alfred, hapless Principality of Zeon pilot Bernie, and Al's recently returned grown-up next door neighbor Chris, who has come back to her home space colony on business for the Earth Federation. Also introduced are the members of the Cyclops Team, a crack Zeon special forces unit on a mission to destroy a new Mobile Suit being secretly tested in Al's colony.

One of the best movies of the 90's

Freeway is the story of a young girl, Vanessa Lutz (Reese Witherspoon), who takes a little "trip" to grandma's house. Unfortunately, a few bad things happen when she runs into someone worse than the "Big, Bad Wolf". Grab some popcorn, and curl up on the couch as Reese Witherspoon wraps you up in a modern, much more grown-up remake of the classic, "Little Red Ridding Hood." ...Wait!! Don't get the wrong idea! This is no fairy tale! This fast-paced thriller/adventure is NO bedtime story! Also starring: Keiffer Sutherland, Brooke Shields

He's right and this is a super product

Casper The Friendly Ghost

I have noticed some great reviews and some mixed reviews about this product with most of the negative ones being ghost written by our competition so i wanted to tell everyone the real truth about this product since we are the people who produced it. I am using my wifes Amazon account to post this.

We have taken some of the greatest classic cartoons ever produced, from some of the greatest animators in history, and meticulously added hundreds of hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars of detailed restoration to both the sound and images in order to make them look as good as they did the day they were first released. Each cartoon is digitally processed first through photo shop frame by frame, and then using both the Davinci and the new Pogo systems to remove every scratch, line, dropout and artifact possible. We then we do a full color restoration at Technicolor using the original color palates to match the colors, tones and shades. We then digitally clean up the sound track to remove all the hiss and scratches and carefully add new foley sound effects, ambience and digitally remix them back onto the cartoons.

The result is our animated DVD series which is currently distributed in both the United States and Canada by Goodtimes Entertainment. These fully restored, full motion, color animations have not been seen in this condition since their original theatrical release. Sit back and be amazed and enjoy some of the finest and funniest animation ever made.

thats why were to only studio doing these that have the blessing and participation of Fleischer Studios and the only one to receive the prestigious Gold Medal from the Classic Animation Preservation Society.

I highly recomend this product to any lovers of classic animation.

I Love It

This video is awesome. Most videos show how a music video was made, or the band the road. But this video shows what they do in there free time along with videos and samples of concerts. I am a BIG fan of *N Sync and own this video. I actually got 2 copies because my first one wore out. I watch it everyday because it is entertaining and shows their true colors. They love to have fun and love their fans. If you watch carefully, you may spot some pretty funny things, but those are for you to find. You will enjoy this video if you enjoy their music and personalities......Enjoy!

Great Book; Better Movie

I first read 'Requiem' my freshman year of college. Until I saw this movie, I did not think anyone could ever do it justice. Despite what critics say, this movie is not about heroin. It is not 'Trainspotting.' This movie is about love in all of its forms-- love of the living, love of the lost, and love of substance. It shows just how quickly want can turn to need and up can flip to down. Ellen Burstyn (Yes, the mommy from 'Exorcist.')is phenomenal, delivering an Oscar-worthy performance. Marlon Wayans proves equally impressive, shedding his 'Marlon Brothers' and 'Scary Movie' personas to play his part with a talent and beauty few actors still possess. This tale, tragic as anything Shakespeare ever created, will make your eyes water, your heart ache and your hand cover your mouth. But your head will not turn. Spine-tingling and gut-wrenching as this film may be, you will not be able to move away from its quality. The tragedy of this film, however, will never compare to the lack of recognition it will receive at the Oscars.

Finally!!! Imagination and Wonder Have Returned!

Naysayer after naysayer tries to write off this film, and those which followed, as well as the books, as fluff for kids. Others went as far to say that this franchise had satanic or evil qualities about it. I say that's a bunch of bull. These movies and books do something for kids(and adults) that hasn't been done since films like "The Neverending Story" and the original "Star Wars" trilogy came along. It allows kids to use their imagination. It gives them hope that there is something magical and wonderful in this world. Regardless if you believe in witchcraft or anything of that sort, let kids have some FUN!. Sorry to be preachy, but for the last fifteen or so years, kids have been hammered with "suggestions" from professionals, preachers and the ACLU as to what they should be watching and doing. Well guess what folks, kids need to have fun. Granted, they do need to learn right from wrong and good from evil, but they have to live a little as well.
"Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone" gives kids a chance to laugh, scream in fear and be awed all at the same time. Who in their right mind didn't pretend to be a wizard, witch, knight, cowboy, football star, etc. when they were growing up. Today's kids have been robbed of that privilege by overprotective parents and worry-wart professionals.
So just sit back, relax and watch a pretty cool kid do some pretty cool things. Harry is a wonderful role-model for kids. He is respectful of others, minds most of the rules(the ones he breaks are broken with the best intentions), and fights for what's right. He doesn't whine about being in a rough situation. He makes decisions that would make any parent proud. Oh, and by the way, he doesn't use his powers for evil purposes. He actually fights evil.
Please don't let the whackos scare you away from this movie or anything related to it. I'm a Catholic convert, and if you know anything about Catholic converts, you know that we're pretty holy-roly. I don't see anything evil or satanic about Harry or any of his friends. I'm not afraid that I'll find my daughter doing incantations sometime in the future trying to conjure up some evil spirit. Instead, she'll be using her imagination, much like all of the kids that I grew up with, and pretending to be a warrior or a crimefighter or even a witch! Who cares? Just let the kiddies have some fun and quit strangling their childhood.
Sorry for going off, but in today's world, somebody has to say something. God bless you J.K. Rowling, for bringing wonder and imagination back to life in a time where so many are trying to destroy it.
Highly recommended film, highly recommended book. I enjoyed this as much(if not more) than my daughter.
