Victory for Vash

The very first episode is just plain hilarious. The cover and introduction have you beliveing that Vash is the coolest of them all, like a Heero Yuy or Spike Speigal....boy are you in for a surprise.
The fact that this guy just happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time makes it an absolute scream.(be warned, it's best suited for ages 13 and up, maybe a little younger) The rest of the episodes are just as funny, but with more of a plot. The animations of his face change so rapidly that you just have to laugh. And when they do, you laugh even harder. He screams like a girl, and runs like a monkey. How could you not like that kinda guy? (he does have a weakness for girls, which makes him all the better ^^)
You have to watch it over and over again! BUY IT NOW!

The movie is bleak, it is Joseph Conrad!

The novel itself is a good play. If you have read the novel, you will find this movie a true and great visualization of it. The acting is exceptional, especially Christian Bale, Robin Williams and Bob Hoskins who plays the fat, fake anarchist. Although I think the director and actors have done a great job, there are a lot of thoughts and political backgrounds of the characters very difficult to grasp for those who have not read the novel. You might want to watch the movie the second time to really appreciate it.

Sex and the City - The Complete Fourth Season - movie DVD cover picture

I have recently become a fan of Sex and The City. When the series first started,it was one of those shows that I wanted to watch but never could. So in January I brought the first season on DVD, then I brought the second and the third. All I can say is that it was outstanding. And I cannot wait to order the fourth season, I advise everyone to pre-order this dvd set at such as good price. It is really aweson it is not solely evolved around sex but the bound of four friends and the troubles they deal with in New York!
Buy it, its great!

What Real Horror is All About

With 28 Days Later, a brilliant and suspensful horror movie, writer Alex Garland (of The Beach fame) and director Danny Boyle (of the Trainspotting Fame) have teamed up to bring us a modern-day experience in terror. With this film, we are given an urban apocalyptic tale that will chill you to the very bone.
When a young man wakes up from a coma naked in a hospital, he soon realizes that there is something horribly wrong with the world. Everyone seems to be gone and, when he finally encounters a group of people, they seem to have turned into blood thirsty monsters. It's only when he teams up with a Selina and her friend that he learns that a virus has destroyed the greater part of England's population and turned many others into monsters.
This virus is, simply put, rage. People are infected with it and turn into crazy, blood thirsty, zombie-like monsters that no longer fear anything. When Jim goes to his home and finds his parents dead, you know this movie isn't going for the cheap thrills. Instead, it tries to hit a kind of emotional terror we don't often find in Hollywood films.
Some have said that the film gets out of hand in the end, when our group of survivors tries to find comfort in a band of military men who are everything but what they seem to be on the surface. But I think that the brilliance of this film is that, by the end, Jim becomes inficted with rage himself, but of a different kind. The film doesn't get out of hand, it only shows that sometimes, the human race is the one thing to fear.
28 Days Later is simply brilliant in every shape and form. It has made amazing discoveries in actors Cillian Murphy and Naomi Harris. With a minimalist score, a digital video-style imagery and very engaging editing, 28 Days Later is bound to become a modern-day horror classic. You won't see a better horror film this year. If you're looking for something intelligent and thrilling, you won't have to look any further.

Touching, Poignant, Beautiful, and Emotionally Gripping

It has been many years since I have seen this movie, yet to this day whenever I think of it, I cannot help but tear up. "Lonesome Dove" is not just the greatest television production of all time, but one of the best movies ever filmed. The characters are all extremely well drawn, the acting is nothing less than superb, and the script is absolutely brilliant. This magnificent picture stays true to the romantic vision of the American West while not shying away from the dark aspects of its history. Because of this, the story has the sprawling look of an epic saga, yet is on many levels an intimate story of friendship.
I love practically everything about this movie, and only wish there were more like it. This film definitely ranks with "The Searchers," "My Darling Clementine," and "The Unforgiven" as one of the greatest and most intelligent westerns of all time.

Disturbing and Very scary!

I am going to keep it short and sweet, I suspect everything that needs to be said, has been said. But has anyone who has a go at this movie ever actually read the book???? I have and the differences are not that great, I always thought the book was great and the best King I have read upto now, but I didn't feel it would make a great movie, and was proven right by the mini series that is a carbon copy of the book, and to me it just didn't work. Stanley Kubrick took all the best bit's and made one hell of a film, negating all the boring parts, aside from the hedge creatures coming to life that would have been impossible to film in 1980. Jack Nicholson is incredible (As usual NO Oscar, it's a Horror film what did you expect). A CLASSIC no doubt.

The Movie of 2002!...

When I went to see this movie I really didn't know what to expect. I had started reading the book back in October but I was only up to the part where Harry meets Hagrid. But I went to see the movie not too long after it went to the theater. After I saw it many of my friends expressed their feelings that they didn't know if they wanted to see it because they were affraid it would be different from the book. Well I have since finished reading the book and I'm happy to say that for the most part the movie does stick to the book. The film was wonderful and the special affects were amazing. I also can see why some of the parents were against Harry Potter (Books) in the schools. However I do not feel that it would do that much damage as long as the parents make sure these children know that it is just make believe and not real. Definitely go see it! A comparable movie would be: Matilda (by: Roald Dahl).

The Outsiders

This book written by S.E. Hinton, is powerful and at its best. It grabs one and catches the eye of another. This book really made me think about myself and who I was as a person. I have also read all other S.E. Hinton books which are just as good. END

Drop Dead Gorgeous - movie DVD cover picture

Who said satire was dead? This deliciously wicked tale of small town girls vying for the title of Miss Teen Princess proves that it's alive and well, as several girls - and many of their mothers - go to extreme lengths to see that they win. Prime amongst them is Gladys Leeman (Kirstie Alley), a former Miss Teen Princess herself who is determined to see that her spoilt sexy daughter Becky (Denise Richards) will follow in her stilettoed footsteps down the catwalk of life. Her main rival is the sweet-natured Amber Atkins (Kirsten Dunst), whose own mother Annette (Ellen Barkin) could not give a hoot about the beauty pageant business, so long as her daughter is happy. Glady dismisses them both as trailer trash - Annette's response is a little less polite - but as the competition hots up and the stakes are raised, a series of suspicious accidents start to befall the pageant contestants.
There is some twisted humour at play behind this dark and savage satire, and within the bitchy context of the beauty pageant theme it all works wonderfully well. Kirsten Dunst plays her role to performance, as tightly coiled as her rival, Denise Richards is laid back.
But the real delight of Drop Dead Gorgeous is that there are lots of clever little ideas that work behind it too. That makes it a real rarity amongst so many comedies that go for unsubtle laughs and one track jokes. Indeed, the strength in character and casting goes down quite some way in Drop Dead Gorgeous, and even though the setting may seem foreign, the theme is universal.
A pursuit of naff middle class values, social standing and an unbending will to win, such things are played out to their ludicrous conclusion in hilarious fashion. Produced by Mel Gibson's own company, this a shrewdly judged film from the mogul in the making - with humour every bit as lethal as the action he is more often associated with. As sharp as a knife poised above your rival's back, this arch and clever story was surely one of funniest movies of 1999.

A shame.

So the deal with the perfect sessions Cowboy Bebop 3 disc, DVD is that it is a completely genuine, real DVD box set. The only thing is the video is a little bit grainy and pixelated because of trying to fit 9 episodes, or over 4 hours of video onto every DVD, so naturally quality is lost a little. The subtitles also look somewhat amateur, and the way to deal with this is to spend the extra...bucks. I personally am pleased with the set, which is definately worth...books, the box set is beautiful and the entire series is a steal at...
