Very Informative & In Your Own Home

My husband and I have varying schedules, so choosing a good childbirthing DVD was important to us so that we could watch on our own time and also be able to review on an as needed basis. Laugh & Learn has been very imformative and fun to watch and learn at the same time. We recommend for couples on the go as well as couples who like to review what they have learned on a more regular basis. All the Best!

International man of shagging

Mike Myers is rapidly becoming, if he isn't already, the heir apparent to Mel Brooks in the sense that he is a master of jokes based on bodily functions. AUSTIN POWERS--INTERNATIONAL MAN OF MYSTERY has all the elements of scatalogical humor: urination, fornication, masturbation, penis enlargement (almost anything to do with the penis really), allotta fagina, femmebots with gun barrel breasts... jeez, he even has a long scene in a toilet booth (with a fun cameo by Tom Arnold). And like Brooks, Myers is a master of movie genre satire. If Brooks had taken on a 007 spoof, it would pretty close to this. And Brooks would play multiple roles as well.

Still, Myers is to be congratuated for his undoubted originality. His interpretation and reinterpretation of 60s and 70s pop culture, which he also demonstrated a mastery of in WAYNE'S WORLD, is his own. Part Bond movie, part Laugh-In, part sci-fi, all hilarious, AUSTIN POWERS is one of the best comedies to have emerged in the 90s.

Loved it: Body & Soul

To really appreciate this film, all you have to do is go see a stage performance of the story. Unfortunately, the one I attended couldn't light a candle to the acting chops of the film's actors: Louise Fletcher's quiet intensity and Jack Nicholson's soulful, humourous performance. Talk about perfect casting!!This truly is an unusual movie to re-watch in 2002. With the bland colours, stark sets, etc., you'll definitely feel like you're caught in a time warp. Today, you can just imagine it would be over-produced with a "star" like Tom Cruise...but God, I hope not!

lois and clark series should be released on dvd a.s.a.p.

I know I can say this for I know that there are many fans, that loved this show as much or even more than I did.Though I probably don't love it as much as them, those who have seen this show through all it's seasons.I have now come to love it by watching it on TBS Superstation.I don't know if I could say one word to describe this sensational show.I have only seen few episodes but now watch it faithfully everday since the first time I caught a glimpse of it.This show is a true classic which many love and I hope will love for many years to come, even though it no longer runs but has re-runs.Please I'm saying this from all the fans of the show, put it on vhs and dvd!

The greatest movie

When I heard that they were releasing a comedy about the wemon's baseball league in the 1940's I instantly wanted to see it. Along with most of my family I went to the drive-in (a normal family outing) and watched this movie enjoying every brillant moment.
The story is about two sisters, Dottie & Kit Hinsen (Geena Davis & Lori Petty) who play softball in a league for their small Oregen town. When a baseball scout (John Lovitz) spots Dottie in a softball game he decides to pick her to go to the tryouts. When Dottie refuses & Kit explodes at the offer he makes a deal if Dottie goes Kit can too. After begging her sister to go the two get on the train to go to Chicago.
Both girls are picked for the Rockford Peaches who's manager is a former home run king who's career spireled downward because of drinking. Some of the sister's teammates include Doris (Rosie O'Donnell), Mae (Madonna) called All the Way Mae by her teammates, a former Miss Georgia, & Betty (called Betty Spaghetti).
The final scene has had some arguing over the past few years but you have to find out what happened for yourself. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because it's on TV so annoyingly much.

Yo del elaine

I love this movie. It is so funny when Gene Wilder starts yodeling at the resteraunt and he calls it yodel elaine. Gene Wilder & Richard Pryor sure do make a great team together. It is also funny when Richard Pryor can't play the saxaphone.

A true classic never ending story...

If only there were movies like this one being made with this much imagination and story-scape for our spoon-fed undiciplined kids. This is an ominous and wonderfully enriched fantasy experience and is not to be compared to the presently mass produced predictable and repetative adult jargon filled cartoon computer crap. Not that the Computer stuff is bad, its just not as good as The Never Ending Story;Thats all...
This movie definitely deserves 5 stars for creativity and greatness, and Atreyu shall rightfully have his hand imprinted into one of the Hollywood Stars.

A dash at Harvard

Believe you me, this is not just another teen movie. It's underlining theme tells of the importance of having good morals & intentions. That one should never judge a person just because of his or her race, creed or color. =0)
We rented this movie, much to my boyfriends dismay - but you know what... he liked it! (Don't tell him I told you that..)
This really is a good movie! Light hearted and funny. An honestly... this day in age.. what more can you ask for?
Reese picked a good one. You should definately pick this one too!

Purple Rain - movie DVD cover picture
Princely treatment for a pop classic

Condemned for years to a truly mediocre DVD version, Prince's epochal 1984 effort Purple Rain has finally been awarded the reissue it was waiting for. With commentaries, previously-unseen documentaries and numerous pop videos, this 20th anniversary edition has more than enough bells and whistles on it to compensate for the failings of its DVD predecessor. All of which, of course, wouldn't make the slightest bit of difference if the film itself wasn't up to scratch. Purple Rain, fortunately, doesn't have this problem. It is, quite possibly, the Greatest Vanity Picture Ever: a monumental edifice to the ego, excess and brilliance of the little man on whose life it is very loosely based. Prince plays The Kid, a talented musician who must rise above his turbulent family life and self-obsession if he is to get with the hot chick and have everyone love his ass forevermore. It's contrived stuff, but surprisingly well-played: Prince himself is pretty effective, Clarence Williams III delivers a nuanced turn as his dad, and Morris Day and Jerome Benton do a neat comedy double-act as The Kid's rivals. That said, the drama is pretty incidental to the musical set-pieces: Prince's place is on stage, and he doesn't disappoint here - be it getting jiggy with a speaker stack in "Darlin Nicki", or putting his heart on his spangled sleeve for the title track. Whilst parts of the film may now seem hilariously dated - dig the motorcyle, the formation dancers, and the "tough" fellas in the crowd - there's no denying the impact and vitality of the stageshow itself. And, as a period piece, this one beats the competition hands down.
