Very Good

This movie is a great spoof. Anyone who has seen the Blair Witch Project should definetly see this. Even if you have not seen the BWP, check this movie out. I laughed a lot during this movie and so did my friends. The extra footage is cool as well. All-in-all, a must see.

one of my all-time favorite movies

Robin Williams is wonderful once again in his portrayal of avante-garde medical student "Patch Adams." Based on a true story, this movie will arouse in the viewer a variety of emotional reactions. While realistic and not "happily-ever-after" in its approach, the story nevertheless elicits a sense of hope. With its fine cast and good acting, this is a movie that one could view several times without it growing old or boring.

Alf's Back!

I used to watch alf as a 10 year old and i really enjoyed the episodes. Its a shame that the syndicated version is being used on the season 1 dvd but considering that i didnt have any other option i purchased the season 1 set anyway. The dvd packing in the case was bad and one of the discs had come loose. The positives include the episodes which are fantastic, the extra features are good and the audio and video transfer to dvd is very good. I just hope that season 2 is released with better packaging and hopefully has the full length episodes, even if it costs 10-15 dollars more.

great movie. a classic

I've never understood why some small minds need for a film to be so overtly self-conscious. It's simply a great story. Every writer of great fiction I am familiar with laughed at so much analysis by people too small to write for themselves.
Fate hands itself to great and small, no matter what they think about it. The two characters who know that are the only ones really living. There's your heavy idea. Happy now? Oh, wait, you're so smart the movie needs to beat it's ideas into you with a hammer or it sucks. Over and again it needs to first revel in it's own importance, harping on how important it is with ideas. This one doesn't.

surprisingly excellent..........

The acting is excellent. The story is relevant and touching. The music is great. Each scene and each conversation in the film hang together to make a cohesive whole that flows seamlessly. I must admit that despite the fact that Jamie Lee Curtis is starring in this movie, I was definitely not expecting to love it.
I remember the first version of this movie in the mid 1970s with Barbara Harris (I had to look up who played the mom's role), and Jodie Foster (whom I clearly remember). I liked it O.K. at the time. However, I have not once thought about it nostalgically or wanted to see it again.
This time around is very different. Jamie Lee Curtis (Mom) and Lindsay Lohan (Daughter) are extremely convincing after they are switched into each other's bodies. I was definitely able to "suspend disbelief" and buy into their dilemma. They make the mother-daughter love and hate and tension and stress convincing and transforming for the viewers.
Mark Harmon (step-father to be) and the younger brother are clearly necessary - and interesting - assets, too. The "ick" factor that the Daughter in Mom's body experiences when she thinks about marrying Harmon is priceless - especially for those of us who have always known that he is hot!
This is definitely a great family movie. It is one that the ENTIRE family is likely to adore, and it is also just one more reason to adore Jamie Lee Curtis!!

Lots of Ab Crunching Fun!

I really enjoy this DVD. I keep hoping that Ana Caban will make an Advanced Pilates DVD and this is close. The focus here is on ABS for sure and it is a routine that can get some heat going.

I am an Ana Caban fan. She has a sense of humor, good imagery and a pleasant voice. There is a fun combination on this DVD that I hadn't seen before. I enjoy mixing this DVD in with other general Pilates routines for a little extra AB workout.

If you haven't done any Pilates, you probably shouldn't undertake this DVD. All Pilates targets the Abs--but this one even more, so if you're new to Pilates try her Beginner or Intermediate DVD first. Really. Form is so important. You don't want to hurt your back trying to get a flat tummy.

All I could ask is that this routine had gone on longer!

Two Great Movies For The Price Of One

It's great to see Kickboxer 3&4 on dvd, after the release of 1,2,and 5. Kickboxer 3 The Art Of War takes a break from the sloan family vs tong po battle and takes place with david and xian going to rio. They bring down a guy who pimps out under age girls and all the while defending his title sucessfully.Kickboxer 4 The Aggressor is a great movie going back to david sloan vs. tong po. Much darker than the other kickboxer's david and tong po do battle one final time it is a must see and must have for any fan of the kickboxer series

Highly recommended

I thought this film was outstanding. I put it in a class with the film "It's My Party". It's a wonderful character study, and I only wish that I could be part of a group of friends (as described by the narrator, "like a family") like this. Of course, some of the characters could be described as stereotypical, but they're certainly not one-dimensional. This story is splendidly cast, and beautifully filmed. It's touching, sometimes funny, sometimes painful, sometimes campy, but very realistic. I found myself drawn into it, and felt as though I was there in that charming lakeside country house.

What About Bob? - movie DVD cover picture
Without a doubt this movie is underrated

I've never forgotton about WHAT ABOUT BOB. I enjoyed it when I was a kid, and i played it for my friends because they had never seen it. The people who didn't like this movie are obviously missing the creativty and genius, and thought put into this unique story. If you think about it, a patient that is so obnoxious to most pychiatrists, practically stalking his doctor and ends up buddy buddy with his family during the doctor's vacation. First of all, you must understand psychiatrists. Most do not care about people's problems, like in many comedies you see the shrink sleeping in his chair while the patient is blabbing away in the special "seat" It's their job to help you, but they mainly try to make alot of money by using their skills, but has nothing to do with caring. This case was no exception. Dr. Leo Marvin, can't stand bob from the very beginning, and i'm not sure how many of you understand the value of VACATIONS but they mean more to doctors than to anyone. They love to get away from their jobs and enjoy free time, which they barely get. And not to mention an extra comic bonus, leo marvin wrote a book and is going on good morning america when he is at his vacation house in new hampshire. It's a hilarious story with non stop laughs. It keeps getting funnier and funnier as leo marvin gets more and more nuts and ends up acting like a patient himself. I don't understand why some people didnt appreciate this movie. Bill Murray was suppose to be annoying, that is why it made it so funny because he drove his doctor insane with every word he spoke, and every bond he shared with his family. Picture a pompous arrogant, anti social, professional pychiatrist being stalked by his new patient. That is if you've never seen it. For those of us who have, you can't help but like it because richard dreyfuss's character is also very funny in what about bob. It's a little old, came out in 91 but you can't tell at all. You get sucked into it because of bill murray's character and his problems become comical. And there is non stop funny lines that are contagious like, YOU THINK HES GONE. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT HE'S NEVER GONE!!! hehehe. And the reason why everyone likes bob and not the doctor is because the doctor sees him as a patient and not as a regular person, but his family gives him a chance, and they realize he's an open, overall harmless and nice person that is thoughtful and fun, and makes everyone laugh. So the doc feels left out as bob takes over his household practically and he is forced to try and be polite by his wife because they all get mad when he mistreats bob. Check this movie out if you've never seen it. It's great.
