Very Funny

I found this movie to be extremely funny and "true to life". It is a real sleeper.
The characters are believeable and human. They are involved in each other's lives but scared to commit.
I found this movie to be an unexpected treat!

Very underrated and not noticed

When I wrote this review, the average customer review was five out of five stars. There were 158 out of 185 who rated this film 5 out of 5 stars. That should tell you something. If it doesn't tell you something and you remain ignorant of the obvious, well then, that is what I am for. I am the reviewer. You come to to find out what others think. I come from the masses. I am the majority. I am the film buff. I am telling you that this is a good movie. I am telling you that this is a great action movie. I am recommending that you purchase it if you expect to obtain any kind of a collection. This story is a forced fall from grace. The fall in this story is against the will of the protagonist. The essence of this film is revenge because that fall was ill conceived. And almost all films based on revenge are both drama and action oriented. So you know it will have action, you know it will have drama, and there is a small militia ready to backup the credibility for this particular film. That doesn't leave much else to refute. Just buy it.

The Godfather: Best Movie Ever Made! Period.

You got Casino and you got Goodfellas. They are both great movies, but in the world of mafia movies The Godfather is the best of its genre and the best in movie history. Godfather 2 was one of the top 10 movies of all time for me. But nothing compares to the original, first Godfather. This movie is a masterpiece of enormous proportions. Marlon Brando plays in one of his best performances of his life. Ultimately what he is known for as, Don Corleone. Al Pacino puts in his best performance of his career. This movie has so many scenes that are classic. Some of the most brilliant scenes are the baptism scene during the end, and the dinner at the Italian restaurant with Solozzo. I'd name more classic scenes, but I'd run out of room. Plus, the thing that I love about the Godfather is its blend of the family and crime. This movie makes you realize that indeed criminals are bad people, but in their own merits, have hearts. This movie has many one-liners that never get old. "I'm gonna make him an offer that he can't refuse", "Monday, tuesday, thursday, wednesday", "Sleepin with the fishes" "One day, and that day may never come. I may call upon you to do a service for me...." "Going to the mattresses" and many more are just some of the classic one-liners from this movie. Francis Ford Coppola could not have done a better job with this movie. The acting, the story, the screenplay, everything, is great. If you haven't seen this movie ,you're probably the only person on the planet that hasn't, see it now!! Better yet buy the Godfather DVD Collection.

Race the Sun - movie DVD cover picture
We watched this for science class...and wow!

Wow, we just watched this today in science and I was amazed. This movie is really entertaining, with a cast of some major actors to back it up (Jim Belushi, Halle Berry and Casey Affleck who is Ben Affleck's younger brother). The story is really inspirational. Based on a true story, it follows a group of high school students who come together in detention class. Things happen in the beginning, giving these kids the motivation to build a solar car and race in the world championships. After overcoming many obstacles, the team eventually makes it into the big games. Here's where things get interesting, as we look into each character's personality. For instance, we have the stereotypical fat guy whom no one would expect to fit into a car, let alone race. Then there's the troubled girl with the alcohol problem, who gets disqualified from the races. Next comes the nerdy girl, who finds love in interestig places. Jim Belushi and Halle Berry once again prove how good they truly are in this wonderful movie (based on a true story). I hope everybody watches this because it is really exceptional.

A Classic

I watched this as a christmas special and was amazed not to see it the following year. It has all the earmarks of a classic! The animation is superb, Drew Barrymore was perfect -- persistant in her determination to do right in the face of all obstacles. Some complain about the situations, but really it is no different than many other classics (Grinch) in contrasting the goodwill against the negativity to be won over. A heartwarming inspiring story with lots of fun for everyone.

Don't try to over anylize this movie.

After reading some harsh reviews about "View from the Top" I was compelled to put my two-cents in. This was not only a hillarious movie but it's one of the few movies now-a-days that has brought some of the 80's back into our theatres. Sure you won't learn any provound life lessons, or you won't be moved to sobbing tears, you'll simply have a good time with the girls while watching some great actors and actresses have fun with a cheesy movie. With Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" playing in the background, how can you not laugh and smile as you watch this feel good comedy. Of course it doesn't make sense, of course it's dramatic and cheesy, but that's the whole idea. This is a movie that doesn't take itself seriously and reminds you as a viewer the same. For those of you who miss those feel good movies in the 80's where you left the theatre with a smile then have a girls night out and watch this flick.

Perfect French Romantic Comedy

This is a wonderful, subtly deep romantic comedy about a group of film makers and fashion designers in Paris. With interesting, fully developed characters, no violence and real sex, it is the kind of thing Hollywood would remake poorly (e.g., compare Abre Los Ojos with Vanilla Sky) if they could--but they can't. Abortion, infidelity, "feminism" vs. "misogyny," the craving for recognition and fame--and their difference from the search for true art and love are all handled with a most delicate touch.

"You're a very bad man Walker, a very destructive man..."

It is ABOUT TIME this movie became available on DVD. Now all they have to do is get Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid on DVD and all will be right in the world. Well, that, and throwing Bush out of office.

Stylish, tough, almost too-hip film from 1967 with Lee Marvin doing what he does best, plus this movie offers a rare time capsule-style glimpse into a bachelor pad penthouse apartment of the era, that of the late John "Dean Wormer" Vernon's character Reese. Definitely a case study in how not to decorate. Also look for Keenan Wynn and James B. Sikking, not to mention Carol O'Connor who nearly steals the end of the movie as Brewster. Pick it up. Do it.
