Unintentional comedy at its finest

First off, Rudy Ray Moore is not Dolemite in this so called third installment of the series. He plays an ex-cop turned DJ and Dancer named Tucker. Secondly, this movie has very little comedy and action both of which made Moore famous in Dolemite and Human Tornado. The most important thing about this you should know is that it seems to be one big repetitive mess based on "Angel Dust" and its terrorizing effects on the human brain. There are far too many scenes of hallucinating and the synthesized background music is almost nauseating. All in all the film is a waste of time and shouldnt be mistaken as part of the Dolemite series. Oh and by the way, Don Johnson and Madonna are not in this movie

A Midnight Clear - movie DVD cover picture

What a excellent movie! Midnight Clear is the story of a group of American Soldiers, led by "Will Knott" aka "Don't, " who are entrenched behind enemy lines in war torn Germany. Sent to occupy a rural farmhouse, the soldiers soon discover they are not alone. They share the sector with a small group of enemy soldiers. Over time, boredom, fatigue, and anxiety get the better of the soldiers, and they begin to contact with eachother. Eventually harmless pranks turn to friendship.
After exchanging Christmas presents and Christmas Cheer, the American's and Germans hatch an unlikely plan to bring peace to their small region of the Ardennes Forest - with life-changing consequences.
I really loved this film! It was poignant, moving and tragic. I loved the acting by Ethan Hawke and Gary Sinise. This movie is a must for fans of character-driven drama.

I love movies like this

This movie was great. I think it portrayed the life of a teenager well. It wasn't exactly a realistic movie, but who cares? Mia Thermopolis is an average teenage girl, dealing with a lot of the same things as other teens, such as,Popularity, confidence, friends, boys,an d family. If you look carefully, you'll notice that a lot of the charaters were in pretty woman. One of the best parts of the movie,is that there wasn't any swearing or profanity. A truly good movie doesn't have to have that stuff in it.Mandy Moore was pretty funny,as well as Eric Von Detton. The music is also very fun. if you love an empowering movie, you'll love this one. I walked out feeling so good about myself. Mia makes every girl feel good about herself in the end. It has the same effect as She's all that. Both movies take a nerdy,or unpopular girl, and turn her into a beautiful and confident person. To me, it's the best movie to watch when you're feeling crummy about yourself,or even if you aren't.I think this was one of the best summer movies. I recommend it to all ages.

...but I think this movie is totally cool! The effects are awesome, and the acting good. Although not as scary as the book.

Handel - Theodora / Peter Sellars · William Christie · Upshaw, Hunt, Daniels, Croft · Glyndebourne Opera - movie DVD cover picture
A Superb Production!

Please ignore the uneducated comments of the review from the Welshman, Theodora is not an Italian Opera but an English Oratorio, so it is wholely appropriate for it to be sung in English! The libretto and Handel's manner of composition however makes this piece particularly well suited to an acted rendition as we have here. Believe me, if there is only one Handel DVD you will ever buy get this one - the performance, and indeed the whole concept of this production is superb. Never has Handel crammed so much profound music into one opus. This is without doubt Handel's greatest work and this DVD is the best version of it you can get at the moment - and it is better than any CD version (even Christie's own!). BUY IT!!

NFL Films - Super Bowl Collections - Super Bowl I-X - movie DVD cover picture

I'm probably going to invest in a re-order of this DVD collection, because I simply have worn this one out. From the "They Call It Pro Football" opening to final gun of Super Bowl X, this collection grips your attention and never lets go. The writing is superb - I especially like NFL 68' - and The highlights... Well, it was when pro football was pro football.

It was interesting watching teams endure psychological hardships, as was the Case with the Dallas Cowboys of the late 60's- Early 70's. "Next Year's Champions" were the epitome of resiliency.

"The Championship Chase" was a pure joy to view. If ever there was a peak in John Facenda's narrative career with NFL Films, this was it; though in the alternative, I loved his voice-overs in Super Bowls III, IV, VII, and IX.

Ed and Steve Sabol Really hit the bulleye with Blair Motion Pictures. I would have loved to see more AFL highlights, but that's just nit-picking.

Jumpin' Jeezus on a Pogo Stick!

I just came out of the first showing of the first day for the Dawn of the Dead remake. Yes, the zombies run, in fact, they haul ass. No, it doesn't suck. As a matter of fact, it makes me a bit resentful of the humor in the original, because this movie is not too funny. Try scary. I'm 27 and this one had me biting my nails. I don't care if the guy that wrote Scooby-Doo wrote this. This movie was fantastic. GO SEE IT!

Not as bad as I remembered it to be...

In fact, far from it! I don't know why I didn't enjoy this when I saw it for the first time. It's actually a funny, enjoyable movie--clever and amusing, with great acting and special effects/animation. Being unfamiliar with the original series, I can only go by this movie, which I now heartily recommend. It's a lighthearted comedy. Any fault to be found with it--perhaps not the most defined plotline?--would be ascribed to the writers, and no others. As far as live action Disney goes, this is one of the better ones.

Great Movie for the whole family

When I first decided to check this movie out I was a little sceptical. ... walking through the video store I stumbled accross Jonah and the shiny packaged DVD case. I had heard of the movie and really wanted to check it out. This movie follows Jonah, who by the way is an asparagas with a monical who is a profit of god preaching his good word. Yes, Jonah gets swallowed by the whale for not doing what god says and is given a second chance. He meets up with a little friend who is half worm half catapillar named Carmichael. Jonah must warn the city of "fish slappers" that they better obey god or else. My favorite line in the movie is "A message from the Lord". A great kids movie but im 29 and I still enjoyed it. ... check it out!
