Star Trek - Nemesis (Widescreen Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
Truly Amazing!!

Ever since Star Trek VI, the series has been losing momentum. After the TV show TNG ended, Star Trek has been a monotonous and ridiculous franchise that is desperately trying to hang on. The culmination of this is the ninth film, Star Trek Insurrection which was so bland and uninteresting I can't believe they didn't send it straight to video! But wait, here comes director Stuart Baird, who has single-handedly breathed life into a dying series.
Star Trek Nemesis has everything you could want in a sci-fi film. A cool-looking dune-buggy chase scene, an evil and interesting antagonist, awesome special effects, real characters and one of the best plots in the Star Trek series. The look of the film is dark...just dark enough for the plot. The cinematography...especially in the desert scene...is different from anything Star Trek has seen, but it's exactly what it needed. The only thing that's out-of-place is where Data's clone came from, which ignores the possibility of Lore's return, but the rest of the film makes up for that (after all, they ignored the storyline of the Borg being individuals when they made First Contact).
All in all, this film is great! For every sci-fi fan!

7 Signs of Christ's Return - movie DVD cover picture
Excellent Production of Pre-Millennial Eschatology

I highly, highly recommend this video for those who want an accurate and quality documentary on Bible Prophecy for the Latter Days. Graphics, Biblical context, archived historical footage and sequencing are superbly presented.
There are a few things that should be noted. Though mentioned in the film, it may not be emphasized enough that the "watch" which occurred at the end of 999 A.D. failed because Israel had not returned to her land, as necessitated by Zechariah 12/14, Ezekiel 36/37, Isaiah 66 and Revelation 11/13. Also, Herod's work on the Second Temple to God was actually a renovation of the Second Temple built after the Jews returned from Babylonian Captivity, having been liberated around 534 B.C. In addition the film shows footage of an idol which is strictly forbidden by God as an object of worship or reverance in Exodus 20:4 KJV and Leviticus 26:1 KJV (use the KJV as certain versions have "edited" these passages).
Whether the European Union will become the feet of iron and clay from Nebuchadnezzar's dream in Daniel 2 remains to be seen. But it certainly seems well on its way. Nonetheless, the footage of European armies shows that a new economic power is on the rise. However, most of the aircraft shown are American-made, not European.
The film appears to have potentially focused on the year 2000 rather than overtly stating that it is the "Signs of the Times" that are significant in prophecy, not any particular date. And in relation to the "Signs of the Times" the film does an excellent job, starting with the reborn nation of Israel; miraculously founded on May 14, 1948 in a striking fulfillment of Isaiah 66:8 and Ezekiel 36:24. The most recent foreshadowing of the coming son of perdition (2nd Thess. 2:3; cf. John 17:12 KJV), Adolph Hitler, and his Axis-power buddy, Benito Mussolini, are well-documented with prime footage. Even though it may have been movie footage, the schoolchildren singing an homage to Adolph Hitler is beyond frightening and definitely accurate.
If you're a church pastor who is looking for teaching materials or just want a quality product for a presentation on Bible Prophecy, this is a great video. DVD has chapter access and, like the VHS, has excellent viewing quality.
I'm glad they made this available on DVD. Amazon.Com also carries "End Times in the Words of Jesus", probably the best prophecy video on End-Times Bible Prophecy. Buy both "7 Signs of Christ's Return" and "End Times in the Words of Jesus" for study!

Awesome sound!!!

I have had this DVD for a few years now. It is wonderful with just five surround speakers, but with a subwoofer it sounds simply fantastic! I just bought a JBL 300 watt PSW1000 subwoofer, have a Yamaha Receiver and ZSeries cables from Monster. Well, needless to say I have never had such an experience in all my days involved in hi fidelity sound. The opening sequence blows me away and the rest of the film holds me up in rapture. What more can I say? It's fantastic!!!

This DVD is truly AMAZING!!!

I got the Letter Factory DVD for my 17 month old daughter in February. She looked completely mesmerized since the first time we played it to her. She would laugh and squeal and bounce and imitate the sounds, and request to watch it everyday. After about a month, one day when we were idle in the car, I thought I would play a game by asking her if she knew " A says ...." what...

She knew... and I kept going.

We stopped at "W"! She knew every sound from A to W! I asked her again at random order and she knew everyone except X, Y, and Z. She was only 18 months old and I never taught her phonics except playing her the DVD. This was a huge surprise. After that I noticed she would try to pronouce words that are around her.. labels... books... even signs and ads on the street. This DVD has provided a wonderful tool for me to teach our little toddler new words, and for her to say them properly. For instance, she's been saying CAR for a long time, but she used to pronouce it as "GAR". After I knew that she had learnt "C" says "Ca". I used that to teach her the correct pronounciation of CAR. Now she can say it crisp and clear every single time.

I have started showing her the Talking Word Factory and she loves it, too.

I must commend Leapfrog for putting out such a marvellous product, and would recommend it to all parents with young children.

Special Guests.....That's it!!!!

This is one of the most enjoyable concerts you could ever ask for!. Recorded in 1991, this DVD is awesome not only for the music itself, but the sound and image. At last a Rit's concert in DTS!!!!
It's really nice the title of the DVD because we can find the best muscicians.
Lee Ritenour (Guitars)David Benoit (Keyboards)Don Grusin (Keyboards)Ernie Watts (Sax)Abraham Laboriel (Bass), personally I'm very proud of Abe because he plays extremly extraordinary and he is mexican like me!!Gary Novak (Drums)
This DVD features 8 incredible songs, 5 of them are Ritenour's originals.
1. Night Rhythms (Lee Ritenour).Opening track, his Sadowsky Electric/classic guitar sound perfect, Rit show his skill with his instrument and show why his nick name is "Captain Fingers"
2. 24th Street Blues (Lee ritenour).Really nice song.
3. Solo Flute (Dave Valentin) and yes, Image had a mistake, is Awakening.Well, Dave Valentin is for me the best flutist in the entire world and we can see and hear a lot of his flutes here.
4. Zephyr (Don Grusin).
5. Rio Sol (Tim Landers) Yes, again Image had another mistake, it's not a Rit's original.Rit used here his Gibson ES335 and changes a bit the song by adding some rock instead the brazilian flavor it had back in 1988 on the Festival album. For me is one of the best songs in this concert.
6. Etude (Lee Ritenour).Wonderful as always this particular song, a really complex song for be played lived.
7. Uptown (Lee Ritenour).Excellent song.Captain Fingers again, jaja!
8. Rio Funk (Lee Ritenour).Wow, incredible song apropriated for incredible muscicians. All of the guests play in this song that misteriously appear in almost all the lived performances.
This DVD is a must have for all Rit's fans.

Outstanding Teletubbies movie

I bought this Teletubbies movie for my 2yr. old daughter and she loved it so much that she watches it at least 8 or 9 times at day. She can repeat parts of the movie now and never gets tired of watching it. This is her first Teletubbies movie and since they are a hard to find product, without going on the internet, and Amazon.com has been the best in price to find any of the movies or books.

Torch Song Trilogy - movie DVD cover picture
a day in the life of a professional drag queen

This is a comedic, yet heart wrenching drama that never fails to break up the tears with laughter. The characters are more like caricatures of the standard issue 1980's type cast. They are not all warm fuzzy "I wish I could be like them" characters, but well defined generalizations with a gender bender twist. It is thoroughly entertaining, and has a couple of somewhat steamy scenes of male to male intimacy, of the PG 13 version, that could still excite the 'young and searching for an identity' gay teens of the late 90's, as well as bring a few of those who find the generation X'ers youthfully clueless back to our twenties with familiar music and social attitudes of the era when we weren't considered so fashionable.
