Donnie Darko - movie DVD cover picture
This film has just entered my top 10!

Remember the feeling you had the first time you read ?Catcher in the Rye" or saw David Lynch's film, "Blue Velvet"? Well, this experience should be right up there!
Ultimately, this is an esoteric piece that will make you want to re-watch it the second it's over to try and figure it out - ? la "Sixth Sense". That said, it's a wonderful coming-of-age story (the likes of Salinger's "...Rye") of a cynical adolescent, Donnie Darko. Donnie is a sort of a comic book high school hero, who tells everybody where to get off in such an intelligent way, that even his parents have to congratulate him on being expelled from school.
The twist that will "knock you flat" (as Jan Stuart of Newsday put it) is almost superfluous in light of what the rest of the film has to say for itself. This is almost two films in one: a highly spiritual film about time and space; destiny versus free choice - and one that is very earth-bound about having the courage to be your own person, and about questioning everything before excepting blindly. The two themes are magnificently bound together in a visually stunning, and breathtakingly acted film. Keep an eye out for Jake Gyllenhaal - he's right up there with Toby Maguire.
One of the best films I've seen in the past few years.

I had so many doubts of buying this DVD after reading some of these reviews but I'm so glad I bought it!!! I have No complain at all!!! Excellent footage, excellent sound and most of all excellent performance.
The audience at Rio must be the best audience that any band could have. Hopefully, people will start to realize that there is actually a wonderful world and awesome cultures outside of North America worth visiting.
No matter if you are a fan or not, check this concert right away!!

Alright, I dont usually review, but...Weiss is one of the best series out there. The plot and characters are good. Sure, the animation makes Aya-kun a little cross-eyed sometimes, and no one ever bleeds until the OVA, but it's still great. ^__^.If you watch it (And I highly recommend it. I waited 4 years for it to come over to the US so I could buy it and am now converting all my friends to loving it.), you might also want to grab the OVA and Gluhen, the second series. Both are on Just check out the "shop" choice. Sure, the subs are a little off, but that's part of the fun!

The Legend of Mulan (Nutech Digital) - movie DVD cover picture

First of all-be warned, NOT the Disney version for kids. Dark, violent, typical Japanese amination, and a wandering storyline that ultimately had me up and--of all things--vacuuming halfway through it. I kept trying to return, but each time I reached the same conclusion--BAD. Bad, bad, bad.

A few of my friends had mentioned these videos so I bought this one. My son is 6 1/2 months and he loves it. He stares at the TV when I turn it on and doesn't look away. I'm so glad that I found something that will educate and entertain him at the same time. The music is wonderful and I enjoy listening to it while I'm doing house work. The only problem I have is with the DVD menu. Once you pick your catagory, such as Theatre, Listen, or Language, you can't get back to that main menu to change your selection. I have to start the DVD over by turning it off and on again.

Yet another tail of how the Man of Steel came to be!

With stunning new animation and breathtaking affects, The Last Son of Krypton tells the story of how Krypton was destroyed and how Kalel was raised by the Kents. It also introduces Superman's arch foe, Lex Luthor and his new weapon, the Lexo Suit. Also featuring the voices of Tim Daily as Superman and Dana Delany as Lois Lane. It is certainly the best thing to kick off the new animated Superman series on the WB network!

The Best Movie So Far Of 2003....

The Matrix: Reloaded is the sequel to the 1999 box office hit The Matrix. Keanu Reeves once again does an amazing job as Neo or should I say, Mr. Anderson. In this sequel Neo and Trinity are now very close and Neo seems to be able to do whatever he wants. This is a very cool movie. In this Neo, Trinity, Morpheus, and newcomer Link are fighting are trying to end the war, while Xion (Zion)the only city left in the "real world" is awaiting a battle with sentinels. If you liked the first one go out do yourself a favor and see this movie and The Matrix: Revolutions which will be released November 5, 2003.

Action, Explosions, Rap Music, DMX and Genius All in One!

This movie is packed beyond belief. The action is nonstop and it happens all over Detroit. On the bridge, in some clubs, on streets, and factories! The soundtrack is hoppage and DMX also stars in this tight movie. Talk about the stuff, Steven Seagal (comic genius) is the main star and he does more stunts than ever! Major flippage, one broken arm, fighting two guys who are bigger than he, fighting DMX, driving a truck, shooting a helicopter down, riding a motorcycle, jumping over a speeding car, catching keys in the air from his feet, rolling out of an upside-down van, fighting with cleavers, and eating roast beef sandwiches! Pure Divinity! This lord has now become a living legend of the human race. No more police corruption with this legend walking around!
