The best horror film ever made

I love horror! The first time I saw this movie it scared me out of my wits! Brilliantly acted with a supurb plot. George C. Scott and Trish Vandervere couldn't have acted better. The film is so gripping from beginning to end there's never a dull moment. It is a must see if you are truly into horror, not blood and gore which tends to be silly, laughable and completely unbievable. It will scare the daylights out of you and keep you coming back for more!!!

POPPIES! Poppies!

Traffik is intense, dramatic and depicts the world (from Asia to the U.K.) of the heroine trade. All the hype behind the movie barely alluded to this brilliant miniseries. With this rerelease, let's hope that the record is set right. Buy it, or rent it. I am sure the movie is great, but the Brits really captured the characters and sense of place to propel the compelling stories of poppy farmers, traders, dealers, users and cops --and everyone else involved in the heroine business.

5 Stars...Not Enough!!

Wow...CeCe's talent is truly amazing. Most of my favorite songs are performed here, with no disappointment. It's one thing to listen to her cds, but it's quite another to see CeCe perform. Once you have that experience you quickly see that she is honest, humble and real about her work. Her music is not contrived or created to fulfill the expectations of others. She is just a woman who loves God and is not afraid to express that love with the hope of touching the lives of those needing a touch of light or motivation to live better. You will not feel empty after watching this dvd; you will be filled with love, joy and hope that even though each day will bring its struggles and sacrifices you will maintain your sense of self and an even greater respect for your Creator. Thanks CeCe!!

Groundhog Day - movie DVD cover picture
One of the funniest movies ever made

Phil Conors ( Bill Murray) is a TV weatherman that is rude, conceited, and full of himself. Every year he gets stuck having to go to Punxsutawney, Pensylvania to cover the Groundhog Day festivities. Going with him this year is his sexy and cheerful producer Rita ( Andie McDowell), and his smart-mouthed, yet somewhat nerdy camera man Larry ( Chris Elliot). Phil wants to get out of town as soon as possible, but is snowed in when an unexpected blizzard hits. But things are about to get even worse. Phil wakes up the next morning to discover that it's Groundhog Day all over again. He is forced to live the same day over and over. But the more Phil is forced to repeat it, the more he comes to care about the town and those around him. But life really starts to get complicated when he finds himself falling for Rita.
"Groundhog Day" is one of the funniest and most original films ever made. Bill Murray has made a lot of outstanding films. But in my opinion, "Groundhog Day" is his best one. The repeating day is amazingly done. All of the actors do an extremely good job making each day look the same. The laughs that this film brings are non-stop. I even found myself rewinding scenes for a second and third viewing at times. Bill Murray is amazing as Phil Connors. Watching him play both roles is great. The first being the one who hates everybody and only cares about himself. Watching him try to kill himself over and over will make you laugh extremely hard. The other is the one that adjusts to live in Punksatawney and learns to care about those around him. No matter what he does, he will make you laugh. Andie McDowell is great as Rita. Her sweet and caring nature works well against Murray's negative attitude. The chemistry between her and Murray is amazing. One of the best romance stories I have ever seen. However, my favorite character was Stephen Tobolowsky's Ned Rierson. Every different time Ned and Phil meet, provides for the funniest scenes in the film. "Ned, I'd love to stay here and talk with you. But I'm not going to." Chris Elliot and the rest of the town are also all outstanding.
No matter how many times you see this film, you will never find it boring, repetitive, or less funny. In fact, you laugh harder with each viewing. The story, romance between Phil and Rita, and the great all around acting make Groundhog Day one of the best comedies ever made. The DVD is great, and the documentary : "The Weight of Time", is worth the price alone

Dance Fever!

"Marky Mark" Wahlberg (I'll bet he hates that by now) is Dirk Diggler (the man with the 13-inch talent), but Julianne Moore shows off more than just her skin in an Oscar-nominated performance that encompasses all the emotions. Writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson deftly juggles over a dozen major characters in this story of the ups and downs of the minds and bodies behind the adult film industry of the late 70's and early 80's. The also nominated Burt Reynolds finally shows everyone else what many knew--he doesn't always have to play "Burt Reynolds." Watch out for Michael Penn (folk-rock singer and the film's composer) and Robert Downey, Sr., in the music studio.

Another Classic

This is great DVD for your Pilates collection. It's a SMALL STEP above beginner-- not too hard. I'm a Personal Trainer and I think Ana does an excellent job of explaining the moves. They are easy to rememeber for when you want to do Pilates when you're watching TV or on vacation.
Here is my list of BEST Pilates videos from easiet to MOST difficult:
1) Power Yoga Plus (Denise Austin)
2) Pilates Intermediate (Gaiam)-- steps it up a notch-- I'd still call it "beginner"
3) On the Ball Pilates Workout (Natural Journeys)--40 FUN minutes
4) Pilates for Every Body (by Denise)--quite challenging and you'll FEEL it, but it's easier after you catch the moves
5) Strong and Streamlined (Stott) This is the most advanced you can get. GO FOR IT!
Hope this helps!

Brilliant parody of Disney classics!

The animation, to begin with, was simply awesome. Yes, the details of Shrek and the donkey are remarkable, but even more amazing is how Dreamworks accomplished such a striking resemblance between the animated characters and their human voices counterparts.
It is easily one of the funniest movie of its genre up there with Disney's "Toy Story," "The Emperor's New Groove" and now with "Monsters, Inc." Ironically enough, a large part of the fun you can have is directly tied to the parody the movie makes of Disney classic fairy tales such as "Snow White" and "Cinderella". Not that it's a slight detail: it's hard not to notice it, but it is highly enjoyable. In addition to this, there is a very original combination of contemporary pop/rock tunes with the scenes of the movie which takes it out of the traditional fairy tale genre.
All in all, even with the totally predictable ending (who cares, after all -it's a fairy tale!) I give it five stars.

What a classic!
Betty Hutton is absolutely adorable as Annie Oakley!!
The story may seem familiar, and perhaps a little bit cliche just by reading the synopsis, but don't let that fool you. This musical has got its twists and turns and its share of buckshots! Sharpshooter Annie Oakley meets the man of her life (and perhaps the snob of her life too!). She falls hard for him, but he only wants prim and proper ladies. So she changes for him but she cannot change the fact that she's better than him. Or can she? Watch this and find out!
Betty Hutton was so cute in this film. I loved the song Doin What Comes Naturally. Howard Keel was marvellous as Frank Butler. His rendition of The Girl That I Marry was beautiful. Not the best that I've heard, but still beautiful.
I haven't seen the Broadway musical. But I will when I get the chance. This musical is one of the best musical comedies that I have ever seen!
Watch it! That is... if you haven't already...

Noir is great, but it putters out near the end

I really like Noir, I got it free, before it was copyrighted in the U.S. The begining is really the very best part, as with most series that revel in the 'mystery.' However, the end gets a little corney and strange as all the mysterious elements get explained. In my opinion, all the strands of the story just weren't tied together very well. But maybee I'm biased because I thought Kirika Yumura's young counterpart was very very irritating (I hope you read this Hannah). In all honesty, I must say, both the main characters were very cute and the older one was just plain sexy.
