I think that On The Line is a great movie, and not just for nsync fans. The story is cute, witty and fun. This is a perfect addition to any romantic comedy collection.

Spirit of vampirism

This gloriously sensual film by Tony Scott perfectly captures the eroticism and underlying decay that is vampirism. Significantly, the word "vampire" is not mentioned once throughout the film, which underscores the nature of this movie - a truly grown-up work of art which places vampires at the center of an otherwise completely credible everyday world.
This isn't on-the-edge-of-your-seat horror (though there are a few scenes like that), but the underlying terror is actually far deeper, as Catherine Deneuve's Miriam lives through the horrifying fate of her lovers, and ultimately her own.
Overall, for my money easily the best horror film ever made, beautifully filmed, deliciously erotic and consistently intelligent. And hey, with Susan Sarandon AND Catherine Deneuve together, how much better can life get?

Choose Me - movie DVD cover picture
Clever as it gets, but . . .

This is one of my all-time favorites, along with Nashville, Exotica, and Kieslowski's Blue. My ultimate romantic movie, in a beautiful but sordid way. R.D. Chong is wooden, but doesn't detract from the movie. The biblical allusions escaped me at first (Eve's bar, Adams street, ultimate redemption ...), but this is a heartfelt paean to true, less-than-sane, love. Is Mickey, the male protagonist, crazy? Does it matter? I saw this at least 6 times the year it opened at a small art-house theater, and I watch it time and time again without tiring of it's hopeless, dreamlike, romanticism. Mickey is a man, wandered off from an insane asylum, searching for a lasting taste of a past love that he can't recapture or redeem. He is willing to be a partner for each of three beautiful but flawed women--but who is willing to take a chance on him? Beautiful.

Simple Plan DVD Rocks!!!

The Simple Plan DVD kicked ass! It was so funny and the guys looked so cute in it. It was really cool how you got to see what their lives are like and the tour of their tour bus too. The new song, "Crash and Burn", was really awesome too. Overall, the DVD was great and if you don't have it already then you definitly need to go get it ASAP!!!!

We loved this. We have always gone to see the one in Canada and were wondering how this movie would be. It was great. We did wish that they had put more emotion into it when they were singing, but then this is a movie and not a live performance like we are use to. It is a movie worth seeing especially if you are a fan of the musical.

Millennium Deserves Full DVD Honours

Jeez Louise, I've been waiting for Millennium on DVD since the show got unceremoniously turfed in it's 3rd season. One of the smartest, most intense, hyper-stylish series in the history of the [t.v.] deserves to be on DVD. And I know there are plenty of other people out there who are patiently waiting as well. Trust me, you wouldn't go broke issuing this great television series on DVD. So, how about throwing a bone to lover's of quality television, for a change?

Schoolhouse Rock! (Special 30th Anniversary Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
Perpetual Saturday morning!

This is a must-have for any Gen-X-er worth his/her salt [grin]. If you grew up somewhat annoyed by these frequent PSA's that seemed to always get in the way of Dungeons & Dragons and so forth, but found yourself one day years later humming School House Rock on the subway, then this is definitely for you!
Quite frankly, this is one of the best designed DVD packages available. It's a two-disc set with all the making-of stuff and over two hours of memory lane fodder that had me laughing out loud. There's a ton of material here that stretches well beyond the years I watched SHR, so not all of it will necessarily be as memorable to everyone. There's a jukebox feature that lets you play all the tracks in random order, or you can watch them by category; grammar rock, math rock, science rock, etc.
Some of the material strikes me as remarkably heady for ten-year-olds which is what SHR was initially designed for. There's a math tune entitled "Hey Little 12 Toes" which discusses base-12 math. The government lessons revel in obvious political biases which are really quite charming and clever, regardless of your politics.
The only criticism I have is that there weren't recurring characters, which in my opinion worked against the potential for greater popularity among kids that were "forced" to view this stuff while waiting for cartoons. This is so minor that it's barely worth noting however.
Eventually the networks abandoned the Saturday morning institution that stretched back to the 50's in favor of extended lite-news coverage. Any extant cartoon production was outsourced to things like Nickelodeon [Nick Jr.] or left for the cable networks such as the Cartoon Network to gobble up...and thus began my disdain for corporate America [haha].
In general, the School House Rock Anniversary DVD is absolutely wonderful from start to finish and is a superlative reminder of that forgotten shared experience we all knew as Saturday morning cartoons.

he's no different then an American guy

Kintaro is your typical guy, 25 years who made a stupid move by dropping out of college now taking part time jobs acting goofy, cleaning toilets, gets beat up a lot and all he does is look a beautiful women all of this makes him a big loser. He's an adult now it's time for him to grow up and face reality. Golden Boy may be old which was made back in 1995 but I still like it.

Easy Rider (35th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
A Classic Late 60's Hippy/Biker Movie Worth Owning!

"Easy Rider" directed by Dennis Hopper, produced by Peter Fonda and written by Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper and Terry Southern was a low budget film ($340 grand) that surprisingly became a box office smash. The story is about two hippys (Fonda & Hopper) who buy choppers with cash they've gotten from a drug deal. They ride cross country heading to Louisianna (to Mardi Gras) and on their way meeting different people, visiting a commune of hippys, ending up in jail, going to a brothel, taking acid etc. The ending was disturbing in 1969 and still is, even in these days of non-stop violence in our country. This 35th Anniversary Edition is identical to the regular dvd version of "Easy Rider" with the exact same bonus material "The Making-Of Documentary "Easy Rider: Shaking The Cage" (feat. interviews with Fonda, Hopper, etc.) and an audio commentary by Dennis Hopper plus production notes. The bonuses for this 35th Anniversary Edition are a cd which includes eight songs (do not confuse this cd with the actual "Easy Rider Soundtrack" as it is not). The songs are "Born To Be Wild" - Steppenwolf, "The Weight" - Smith, "Nights In White Satin" - The Moody Blues, "Wasn't Born To Follow" - The Byrds, "San Francisco Nights" - Eric Burden And The Animals, "The Pusher" - Steppenwolf, "It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)" - Roger McGuinn and "Get Together" - The Youngbloods. The 80 page book "Easy Rider" by Lee Hill is interesting and includes all you'll ever want to know about the film. The bottom line is, if you already own the regular dvd of "Easy Rider" I'd pass on this 35th Anniversary Edition. Of course, if you don't own this classic film it may be worth the extra cash for the bonus cd and book.

One of the Best Workout Videos Out There

There is nothing bad I can say about this video. It is energising and an effective fat-burner. It is for intermediate exercisors, but can be made advanced by making the moves all high-impact. Great work, Kathy!
