Stevie is Alive in Red Rocks! by Deb

This is a must see video. The music is live . My favorite moments were with the white winged doves, Stevies tears of joy, the drama and theatrical lights sounds, and cameras at the concert.Beauty and the Beast was by far intense and seemed to have more meaning to it than meets the eye. Stevie is what made Fleetwood Mac! Fleetwood Mac would of never made it without Stevie. She has a special magic about her! Wicca and a God consciousness about her.See the woman behind the voice.Don't miss this and the DVD for pure energy, magic,&power. by Deb

My favorite movie ever!

Wow....this is personally the best movie I have ever seen! =) I loved it! Considering I'm the type who prefers comedies, I was surprised to find that "Angel Eyes" was an excellent, excellent movie. Jennifer Lopez delivers an awesome performance here. I never was really a big fan of hers, but I must say that she was great in this film. This may very well be one of her best performances. In this gripping drama, she portrays Sharon Pogue, a tough cop who is very focused on her job and nothing else. She doesn't really want to let anyone in her life, mainly because of a painful past she's endured with her family. The mysterious Catch comes along later on. He is a lot like Sharon in many ways; he is secluded, and the loss of his family has brought him to build a wall around himself. But when Sharon and Catch meet, it's instant chemistry. Through their individual decisions to let one another into their lives, emotional healing gradually brings about peace for both of them. Though some people consider this to be a ghost story, I don't think it is at all. It's just a very powerful movie with a LOT of action and occasional violence throughout. I'm not sure why I loved this movie so much, and I don't know what exactly attracted me to it. All I do know is that it's a very entertaining film with a good ending. I loved it and I hope you will too.

Tarzan and the Lost City - movie DVD cover picture
A film true to the spirit of Edgar Rice Burroughs

!!! --This text refers to the DVD edition of this video: I get the impression that many of the reviewers here and in other publications haven't read more than "Tarzan of the Apes," if that. I've read the 23 Tarzan books and if another 50 are found in a safe and published I'd get and read those too! I've lost track of the number of times I read them starting about 1937 but it must be at least 20 times. So I looked at this movie from the point of view of a sophisticated reader with the question, "Would ERB have appreciated this retelling of his story along with the special effects?" The answer, I'm sure, is, "Yes!" ERB died before the development of the computer-derived special effects but if he had them available I am sure he would have used them. After all, many of his 58 books were science-fiction, such as the Mars series, the Venus series, the Pellucidar series, and so on. The actors seem to have researched the characters beyond the script by going to the ERB books; much of the story is true to the source. I quickly became enmeshed in the story. I see none of the quirks noted in other reviews. I highly recommend this film for all lovers of ERB's works.

The final lesson

I am a 17 year old male, I work, and am very into weight-lifting and I am the typical guy, showing no emotions.... This movie broke me into tears. It is, by far, the msot heart-felt and adoring movie I could have imagined. I also do not read, I simply do not have time. After this movie I bought the book the next day and had it read within the week, and that is on top of school and a 40+ hour/week job. This story touched me and moved me in a way that nothing else has. I have a new outlook on life and any dispair, frustration, or sorrow has been eradicated and I finally have the prerequisite to understand life's meaning.

The most incredible film I have ever scene

Spirited Away is a wonderful, gorgeous movie. It is the best anime I have ever seen and it may just be the best movie I have ever seen. I waited until the DVD release so that I could watch the version in Japanese, with subtitles. Even my five-year-old brother, who can't read yet and is therefore usually bored when I watch anime, sat through the entire thing in Japanese several times and loved it.
Chihiro is an average ten-year-old girl who is moving, and like most ten-year-old girls in this situation, doesn't want to. She sits in the back of her car, depressed, when her father makes a wrong turn. They enter a tunnel and go into a mysterious town, where her parents begin to eat the food. Chihiro looks around a bit, and then a strange boy comes up to her, yelling at her, "Get out of here! It's almost night! Go back across the river, hurry!" Chihiro runs back to her parents to find they have turned into pigs; it is getting dark and strange creatures are roaming about. Naturally, she is frightened. The boy, who is called Haku, tells her to find work with Kamaji, who in turn tells her to go to Yubaba, the witch that rules. Chihiro gets work, and her name is changed to Sen.
The journey that Sen/Chihiro embarks upon is amazing. She meets the most interesting cast of characters, and by the end, has everyone on her side. From Haku, who she feels a mysterious connection with, to the odd Kao-nashi (No-Face), the world is inhabited with the most interesting people and...creatures. Chihiro's biggest journey is her journey as a person. She becomes very different from who she was before. I think this movie should be mandatory viewing for every young child before they can grow up into the "sad" young children of today. (Okay, I'm not *that* old myself, but anyhow...)
As for the younger set...parents should determine whether it would be scary or not for their child. I think most children would be fine with it, but I would recommend parental viewing of this DVD first if you are unsure. My brother, who is scared of many things and has nightmares, enjoyed the movie very much.
I would recommend this to anyone, also the soundtrack, which I own. It's very beautiful.

Excellent movie

I saw this movie on Sunday, and it was excellent. Reese Witherspoon did a great job in the part of Elle Woods, and she made an excellent lawyer once she put her mind to it. Overall I think this was a great movie for everyone.

Almost Bill Murray's best comedy.

This is very close to being Bill Murray's best film. You have to look to "Scrooged" for that. But lets face it, Bill was handicapped a bit here.
First, he had to play opposite Andie McDowell. Unfortunately, Ms McDowell is just this side of a lump of clay as acting ability goes.
Second, the final act of the film. Murray has to be a nice guy. Not his forte by any means. And the rest of the cast has to pick up the "funny" for the remainder of the movie. Fortunately, by that time you've had such fun that you barely notice that flaw.
All in all, a very good movie that could've been great.

The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc - movie DVD cover picture

I have seen the movie twice within a week, and will see it acouple of more times. I was shivering through the whole movie, it wasso real for me. ... how 'clean' Joan was. First, at the beginning of the film it turns out that she had been to the priest for the third time that day, to confess. Later on the knights do not understand her when she says 'I want to confess. I have not confessed ... today yet' - if your really pay attention, for the environment this is very strange. And, at the end of the movie, she confesses her 'crimes' again. What I want to point out that she had a very strong conscience and she intended to keep it clean. This makes her a candidate to be Saint - as she was given this title 500 years later.
This movie IS about reality, the betraying of Joan included. This is what I liked the most (the film being so real).
Further on, every split second of the movie is communicating something. If you watch closely, the faces, the looks of the actors, the music, are constantly telling you a part of the story, a message. Perfect timing features the cutting of this film. The conflicts are precisely designed. The actors are perfectly matching their roles. I admit, that the ending is a bit long, but basically it stresses the suppressive behaviour of the inqusition of that time.
Milla plays just perfectly. In this version of the Joan of Arc movies she is what she is and that is it. Luc Besson had an idea in mind and she realises it.
If you like Luc Besson, Milla Jovovich, Eric Serra, history, middle age, or if you are a rebel, this is a must for you.
The more you appreciate art the more you are going to like this movie.
Finally: this movie is fine art in itself, a classic piece. But you have to like the style Luc Besson paints...

Best Movie Ever!!!

The movie series directed by Peter Jackson adapted from J.R.R. Tolkien's story "The Lord Of The Rings" is indeed an excellent one.
To address some points of earlier reviewers, essential information and details of the book were left out of the films because they were essential to the book, not the film. Remember that this is a Hollywood adaptation. New Line Cinema still had to make money on this film and to produce it meant cutting a great deal of material from the original story. I forgive Peter Jackson in that regard.
While Elijah wood had not read the complete story of the LOTR before performing in it on camera, he did have excellent coaching on how to perform the role of Frodo. With the likes of Rhys-Davies, McKellen and Holm there to help him, Mr. Wood did quite an excellent job.
One must understand about what Tolkien wrote. He was a man fascinated by languages, histories, mythologies and folklore and that is what he wrote about. The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings, were just small stories or tales that took place in a fictional place for which he created an entire history and legend. The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings are indeed just the tip of the iceberg. Without these small stories, Tolkien's history would be limited to his childrens' bookshelves. These stories helped bring to life a world of infinite wonder and creativity. Likewise, without adapting the movies to fit the parameters of an epic motion picture, it would not sell, and it would not accomplish anything.
I did not read any of Tolkien's work before I saw the first two installments of the LOTR. It speaks volumes about the exceptional job of Peter Jackson and his crew that I saw his films and proceeded to not just read this story in its original form, but swim deep into the ocean that is Tolkien's work. No matter how many times I read the LOTR, I will always envision in my mind Frodo, Sam, Gandalf, Elrond and all the other characters as they were portrayed on screen by this excellent group of talented actors.
I own the Extended Editions of the first two films and recommend them highly. The added scenes do not drag the movie down or add meaningless menousia like some other movies do when extended versions are relesed. Also, the commentaries are very nice to listen to. You can learn a lot about the movies and filmaking by listening to them. I especially like the design team commentary, their input is very helpful for a Tolkien fan. While I highly recommend the movies, particularly in this special extended edition, I recommend the books, one hundred times moreover.
