Somtimes I don't understand people

I myself like to look at the bad reviews for things and this was no exception, and somtimes i just didn't understand. On one review the person states that this was another typical GI Joe movie with a happy ending. And even though the ending was relatively "happy" this is not just another GI Joe war movie this movie is about a Band Of Brother as stated in the title. I also look at the fact that the movie ended on a peaceful sunny day. That doesn't make it a happy ending, many of their friends or even better, BROTHERS had died and that is not HAPPY AT ALL! Enough said though this is the best miniseries ever created and I encourage you to buy it even though it is expensive for it is most definetly worth it.

Waiting for Guffman - movie DVD cover picture
Oops, I made a mistake

If there is anything at all depressing about this movie, it's that you want more. Somewhere hours and hours of this brilliant improvisation sit unseen, and I must "settle" for the pleasures of the most enjoyable 84 minutes of film-making ever.
The cast is incredible, led by Guest's brilliant portrayal of Corky. Posey, Willard, O'Hara, Levy all have their moments, but the best supporting role is no-name Michael Hitchcock, the "councilman/pharmacist" whose worship of Corky is responsible for some of the biggest laughs in the film.
Never has another movie come around that I've needed to see more than a couple of times - with Guffman, I'm in the upper teens, and it keeps getting funnier. Each time I watch, I have a new favorite line, but Corky's entranced delivery of "I was shopping for my wife Bonnie, I buy most of her clothes..." could stand up to any.
I'll occassionally confound (OK, frighten) co-workers by blurting out lines from the movie. They think I'm crazy, but I know the truth. Christopher, if you're ever peeking at our comments, do us a favor and open the archives. I'd be "happy as Mongoose."

Biography - Roy Rogers (A&E DVD Archives) - movie DVD cover picture
A deep and honest look into the life of an unforgettable man

My little boy is a Roy Rogers freak, and now that I've watched a few of his movies and after we brought this video home from the library, I can see why. Roy Rogers was a great person, and he is reminiscent of a time of innocence that is so far removed from entertainment in our culture today. I highly recommend this video, you'll find out just about anything you've ever wanted to know about Roy only gripe is that I wish they would update this biography. This was done 2-3 years before Roy died, and before his museum was moved to Branson. There are obviously still plenty of Roy Rogers fans out there, and we'd all like to know how this megastar bid his final "Happy Trails", and where one might visit his grave. Many would probably also like to see an updated bit about the new Branson museum. Roy was is and forever will be THE KING OF THE COWBOYS

7th Heaven is the most amazing show ever!!!

7th Hevean fans have been waiting for forever for the show to be out on DVD. I am so excited that it is possibly in the makings. I'm going to buy it the day it comes out because 7th Heaven is a great show. Rated TVG (for general audiences), it has something for everyone to enjoy. I've watched it for all 7 years (from when I was 8 to when I am now 15). If you buy it, I doubt you will regret it.

So Smart - Letters - movie DVD cover picture
Simple and So Smart

Our son was 22 months old when friends of ours gave him this DVD/CD set to offset all the gifts given to his baby brother recently born. We'd already been teaching him the ABC song, and thought this DVD would be an additional encouragement when we put it on. Little did we know.
Like an earlier reviewer, every time the baby giggles in the title, our son laughs "BABY!" We watch the talking letters version and repeat the narration together. On the first viewing our son got so excited he danced around the room as the letters and pictures moved on, off, and around the screen. He sings along to the classical music soundtrack. Wow.
The images are simplistic and crude, based on the research of Dr. Ludington-Hoe (see How to Have a Smarter Baby), so that they are striking and captivating for young minds. At just over two years of age our eldest can sing the ABC song, knows every letter in the alphabet, and has a vocabulary and communicative understanding that stuns most of the people we hang with.
The best part of this DVD is the required parent/caregiver-child interaction. Without asking my son questions about what he is watching, viewing this DVD is pointless. My only complaint is that the DVD games don't have background music. This shortcoming is easily remedied by an external CD player and the supplied "Playtime" CD.

Easy review

This review is really really easy. If you love Journey you'll love to watch this anthological dvd and you'll come back to it again and again even if the production isn't perfect (anyway it is a selection which comprehend material recorded in twenty years so the production levels are quite different). If you don't love Journey, well, why buying an anthological dvd? This is a dvd for the fans it's obvious. I am. I absolutly love Journey so watching the band perform live and see a young Steve Perry in videoclips it's been a blast! I never had the pleasure to see Perry singing a single note and he is my favourite singer!!! So it's really been a blast!!! I am extremely grateful for this dvd, I love it and I recommend it to every Journey fans, even if, I want to say it again, the production of the original material is sometimes good, sometimes very good, sometimes weak, the choices the band did at the time for the videoclips now seems very dated, the production of this dvd, it's not that perfect. But ..... love is blind, isn't it?? And here you have Perry. Steve Perry. Steve Perry. Steve Perry. Steve Perryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy !!!! Who cares about production levels when you can hear and see him singing and performing with Cain, Schon, ... with Journey???? Two more words. Steve Perry. Period.

Odd Man Out

Director Carol Reed helped cement James Mason's stardom with this gritty, gripping nail-biter. Mason is indeed electric as the desperate protagonist. The under-rated Robert Newton is also memorable as Lukey, a slightly unhinged painter who harbors Johnny for a time. Fans of suspense and film noir should pounce on this fabulous political thriller.

A beautiful and sensitive movie! I got into the emotional aspect of it more than the suspense, but it was great. I've watched it many times. Jason Behr's portrayal of Campbell was heartwrenching. Mr. Behr can express so much with just body language and facial expression - they could not have cast the main character better! It's sad that there are so few outlets for the purchase or rental of this wonderful story. I know many who want to see it, but few have found it outside of I highly recommend this DVD!
