Show me why I should spend the extra money!

Unless you want to update your VCR tapes, the DVD "special addition" really isn't worth the extra $. Doesn't really add anything to the original movie unless you think DVD really adds that much to the visual quality. Still, I give this one five stars because it's a terrific movie. Jerry finds a conscience, loses his job, starts his own company and nearly loses that, finds love and loses that...then gets it everything back and ends up with all the marbles. Cuba Gooding Jr.'s great "SHOW ME THE MONEY!" scene is almost worth the price of the flick alone, and so is the now-classic lover's line "You had me at hello." Tom Cruise, always underappreciated by the Hollywood establishment, once again had a fabulous performance overlooked here. Watch for cameos by Troy Aikman and Katarina Witt near the end.

A Sci-fi movie that everyone will love

Tonight as I was going through the t.v. I noticed that the movie Legion was coming on and since I had never seen the movie before I thought I would watch it, and I was very happy that I did, it turned out to be one of the best movies I have seen in a long time, this is a great movie and it really keeps you guessing about who is the killer, infact I guesses almost everyone to be the killer, until they got killed (lol) except for the killer, I mean it was the last person I had ever excpected, when i found out that the movie was only going to air one more time this month and that was two hours after I watched it, I had to rewatch and recorde the movie. Plus the movie had Corey Feldman, who I had not seen in a movie in a long time, and he did a great job, he played a computer nerd and he was scared of everything and his Charachter seemed so real, I belive that he did one of the best jobs acting in this movie of most any actors!! I would tell everyone to watch this movie just once and i am sure that they will have to watch it again and again!

Elephant Walk

I generally don't read the Amazon reviews until after I have seen a
a film, and I bet myself: the more I like a movie, the more it
will get blasted, except by my fellow choir dwellers ( and
there are some brilliantly and beautifully written reviews of
Elephant here ).

Here's a little test. When it comes time to buy a greeting card,
would you buy one with a pre-existing sentiment printed inside,
or would you select a blank card? If you are one of those who
prefers someone else to express something on your behalf,
then chances are you won't care for Elephant. Most American
made movies spell everything out and wrap everything up.

But life - and art - and cinema ( good cinema ) aren't like that.

There is a scene in " American Beauty "...a couple of kids
were watching a video of a piece of paper swirling around. It was
one of the signature scenes in the movie, and lots of people loved it.
While the paper swirled, the kid who had filmed the paper explained
to his friend why the swirling paper was meaningful - and thereby
explained to me why the swirling paper was meaningful. I lowered
my head.

I live quite near Columbine High School, and the hobgoblins of
that day are never very far off, so I wasn't altogther avid about
watching a replicant - but as I have been told over and over:
" Artistry can redeem any subject matter. " But again, if your
idea of artistry is Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill - and not Lost in
Translation or Amelie, then Elephant isn't for you. At least not
yet.

There was a complaint about the title. You see? We need to
be told. While one of the psychopaths is at the piano, the camera
circles his room. There is a small drawing of an elephant
tacked to the wall...but what of it? The title is as enigmatic as
much of what happens in the movie, and in its oblique way,
fits the film perfectly. Just as " Five Easy Pieces " fits that film
despite the absence of five easy pieces.

If you appreciate editing, see Elephant.

"Are you Ready"!!! For Street Fighter

Street Fighter 2:The animated movie is much better than the the one universal made with Van-dam as Guile. First of all the begining is where Sagat and Ryu faced each other. At that part where Ryu scared Sagat's torso was freaky but cool. Mostly all the main story is how M.Bison is looking the data of Ryu's Fighting ability and searches for him. The meantime Ken was invole in this search when the montior droid found same the equal ability Ken fights. But Bison has others tracking him Guile and Chun Li to destroy Shadowlaw and avenge their deaths of people that were important to them. The animation was good with great music. The effect of the Hadoken was shockfully excellent just to add the effects it was a great movie that should want you to pick this powerful game to movie.

Guilty Pleasure...

I just can't help it..I LOVE this movie! As a child of the 80s, and a long-time fan of hair bands, I just had to see this one...and was pleasantly surprised with how well it's made! Now it's not an Oscar-quality movie, but it's not meant to be...it's more parody than seriousness, but it's delivered in a fun way, and any chessiness is there intentionally. It made me laugh, cry, yell at the screen, and sing along with every song (now that I've watched it enough times to know all of them :) I especially appreciated the director's commentary on the DVD...it was fun to learn who is and isn't really singing, and who really is/was in a band.
Great flick...two thumbs up!

Vary big super fun!!!

Much Americans clam to misunderstand Nippon Anime. Such silly! Anime great more sensical that large-cost "Godzilla" movie from a small number of years ago. True pale impersonation of Gojira, to talk the least. Demonstrating that true Japan entertainment cannot be intimated.
Story and graphics capture attention, convoy message on supersense level! Worth every penney, so numerous layers to enjoyment!
The Dirty Pair, Kei plus Yuri, are extremity beautiful and give my intense personal simulation. The music tunes are vibrate and catching.
You will like! Massive joy for you, cowboy!

The Best Movie I Have Seen Ever

As soon as the "Spider-Man" ended all I could say to my brother who went and saw it with me was "That was the best movie I have ever seen." The movie is truly amazing. All the actors were amazing. Tobey Maguire was fantasic as Peter Parker a.k.a Spider-Man and Kirsten Dunst was good as Mary-Jane Watson. I also thought William Defoe was good as The Green Goblin. The movie stayed very true to the comics and everything! If you don't plan on seeing this movie I would have to say something must be wrong with you.
This movie is nonstop and keeps you wanting more. I can't wait for the sequel! After I saw "Harry Potter" last year I thought nothing would ever be able to top it off but "Spider-Man" proved me wrong. The movie is great and I think everyone should go and see it. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars it was that good. If I could give it as many stars as I want I would have to give it like 15 stars. So if you haven't seen it get up and go you will not regret it!

Teh funniest movie ever...IDIOT!!

This movie is definitely one of the funniest movies that I have ever seen. Just a few corrections about what other people have said, the girl's name is Deb, not Mel. She was also in Corrina Corrina and Andre, the one with the seal. It is a good family movie because there is not swearing in it and it is just one of those movies where it is so wierd and stupid that you can't help but laugh. Definitely a good movie to watch if you are feeling a little down in the dumps.

Awesome Movie

I loved the mask and actually thought it was the best one, there were a lot of things done like the original Halloween, the plot was interesting and the music was very good. I thought the movie was great. I consider it one of the bests. Whoever thought it was awful is obviously not a Michael Myers fan.
