Modesty Blaise - movie DVD cover picture
Shakespear this ain't!!!!!! But a funny funny movie!!!!

This movie is nearly ruined by the two leaden performances by its lead stars (Stamp almost seems embarrassed to be in the movie!!). What save this and turns it into a glorious romp are the performances by Dirk Bogarde (yes, heavy drama Dirk!! with white blonde hair!!!!) and Clive Revill doing camp in high style. Their to-the-wall campy characters are alone worth every penny of this. They are a riot as the mad menancing boss and his competitive right hand. Bogarde and Revill have a fine grasp of what camp should be, unlike the two leads that seem alternatively to take it serious (big mistake) or seem rather ashamed to be caught in this off-the-wall, odd ball film. Heavily weighed down by mod 60's culture (which Austin Powers now makes a fortune with), it obviously was ahead of its time!!!!
So pop some popcorn and ice the pepsi, and maybe buy you a big box of JuJu fruit, click back and enjoy. People that enjoy Austin Powers series of films, will go for this BABY!!!!

chocolate on percy

This was a tape for Percy mainly but he lacked a good episode for awhile. In Percy's Chocolate Crunch Percy learns that usefullness does come before cleanliness. In Thomas, Percy, and the Sqeak Percy gets to take singer Alicia Botti to a concert. In Gordon takes a Tumble Gordon triesto show Salty that he can pull freight cars. In Buffer Bother Bill is jealous of Ben's new buffers. In Middle Engine Percy tries to stop getting tricked by Arry and Bert. In Faulty Whistle Duncan has to deliver freight cars by using an organ as a whistle. Then there is the music video Little Engines. This tape is good and I recommend it.

In an insane place in time..one with compassion gives life

What is there to say, except thank you Mr. Spielberg. You have brought to life, the story of a point in the history of our world that we should forget. Unfortunately, we can not nor should we. This undeniable masterpiece has been given to us as a reminder to the past that we should always embrace. Embrace not the horror but the lives of those lost. I have lost relatives in the camps, relatives I never would get to know. Still, I weep for them and try to live my life for them. I can only hope, that by some small miracle, they get to live on through me. I watch this film at least twice a month, as a way to try to understand why and what it was like. Also to remind myself, that when times get bad, there is always a spark of hope somewhere. Again, a thank you goes out to you Mr. Spielberg. HE WHO SAVES ONE LIFE, SAVES THE WORLD ENTIRE.
If you enjoyed this film, please, if I may....You should also see Life Is Beautiful...Roberto Benigni...same type of movie...with the same type of passion and overwhelming story telling as Schindler's.

Star Trek - The Motion Picture (The Director's Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
ST;TMP has never looked or sounded better!

I was not prepared to like this DVD as much as I do. I fondly remember the theatrical opening of ST;TMP in Dec '79, and as a 14 year old, still able to watch the syndicated re-runs of the original series, I was blown away by the special effects and sound.
But the movie has not aged well, and has been eclipsed by not only other sci-fi genre movies, but by subsequent ST sequels.
The editing by Mr Wise, the enhanced special effects, and the skillful sound re-mastering have revitalized this movie. It still has the a problem with derivative plot lines and wooden dialogue, but ST faithful won't care. This movie plays beautifully. I even played my VHS copy and the DVD simutaneously, and kept switching back and forth to see what a startling difference there is. A must see for the Star Trek faithful!

A fantastic DVD to a awesome movie!

The movie itself will be known as the best Comic Book movie of all time, this Sam Raimi directed film is based on the beloved Comic book about a nerd named " Peter Parker" ( Tobey Maguire) who is a loser, he has a crush on a beautiful girl named " Mary Jane" ( Kirsten Dunst) and wants to get her to like him. A Brilliant, unique and entertaining flick that dazzles the audiences with it's realistic special effects, great acting, terrific action and great script that makes this movie one of 2002's best movies.
The DVD: Perfection! great picture and sound that only Sony could offer, the extras are incredible such as documentaries, trailer, TV Spots, and history of Spidy, for anyone who loves Comic Books or movies own this movie on DVD and share it with the whole family.

Horror of Dracula - movie DVD cover picture
A document in the making of a great horror film

I must have watched this one 20 times, and it amazes me that I never tire of seeing it. It's a shame that many modern audiences (and filmmakers) don't have the patience to enjoy a classic like Horror of Dracula. I can't think of a single thing I would change about it. Bernard Hermann's score is the best, and his Dracula theme would be used over & over in the sequels. If you have never experienced Hammer's greatest movie--and, no doubt, one of the finest horror films ever created--watch it!

Meet Me In St. Louis (Two-Disc Special Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
Boy Next Door Meets The Girl Next Door

What can't I say about this movie? Or more precisely, what can I not say about this movie. I remember watching this on television when I was a little girl years ago. I was so happy when I saw it on DVD at my local Barns and Nobles. When I first got it I didn't even really noticed the two disc special However, when I did I was very happy about it.There is so much on this two disc set. That I haven't been able to watch it all. This is a beautiful 60th anniversary restored version. If like me you remember the some what bad colored version at the time on tv. Because they just really hadn't gotten around to restoring classic films. It has been digitally transferred from the restored picture and as well as audio elements.Even Judy's daughter Liza Minneli gives a rather sweet introduction about the movie and her parents. This is an A+ movie and I recommend it to any body who still loves an old fashioned movie. That doesn't have all of the modern day technology thrown in, ever since they made Matrix, and so forth. In truth this is just a simple story about a family that lives in ST. Louis. However, there is just something so much more touching about the story then that. With the cast that the movie has that just makes the story more special and enormous. It really just tacks a life on it's own. I've only real allowed my self a sneak peak at the commentary, but that looks wonderful as well. You get so much extra footage and such. You even get the 1966 Meet Me In ST. Louis TV Series Pilot Episode and a very fun, and colorful Vincent Minnelli trailer gallery. There is just so much joy that you get from this movie. The story is wonderful and the cast all really just seam to have a connection with each other during the time. And the way that they celebrated the 60th anniversary with this movie is just excellent. With classic and radiant music attached to the story, and completely reestablished. This is truly a gem to add to your DVD collection.
