Romantic Comedy Classic

No movie better captures the charm and romance of New York as this one.

The standout performance is, of course, Gielgud. I've noticed that whenever actors have done butler roles after "Arthur", there is always a faint echo of Gielgud's stylish turn.

Dudley Moore is utterly endearing. Watch for his piano performance during the movie.

Liza gives an excellent, underrated performance. I particularly liked the scene in which Hobson (Gielgud) pays a visit to the Queens apartment of Liza's character in an attempt to convince her to go to Arthur's engagement party.

Also, a winning musical score by Burt Bacharach, Carol Bayer Sager, Peter Allen and Christopher Cross.

Crowe scores again with masterpiece of pop culture + suspece

The only thing I had heard about this movie before I saw it was 'it sucked', but knowing some of my friends, I had to see this for myself. Sure enough, Vanilla Sky was a hit. I have not seen the original spanish film 'Abre Los Ojos' but if it is half as good as Vanilla Sky then I think its worth seeing.Director Cameron Crowe (jerry maguire, almost famous)and actor Tom Cruise team up for a thriller that messes with your head untill its over. Cruise stars as David who thinks he has the perfect life. He has money, good looks, and is surounded by beautiful women all the time. But when his playmate (Cameron Diaz) gets a tad bit jelous of his new lover Sophia (Penelope Cruz) she desides to end both of their lives. Tragicly she dies, and David's face is scared forever...or is it?? This movie kept me guessing untill the very end. It was like a David Lynch film, except it made sense in the end. A definate good one to see....

chilling and moody film

Frankly, it's one of the best films I've ever seen.
There's the rare screen performance by Kim Stanley (this alone makes the DVD worth purchasing) along with the chilly, moody & eerie story (in glorious black & white) of two con artists, one who's heart really isn't in his work.
I'm not going to give away the plot but, suffice to say, this film's worth the investment.

H.H. Holmes - America's First Serial Killer - movie DVD cover picture
An Unbelievable tale!

Large headlines splash over newspapers around the country. The Chicago Fire! Then after in 1893 the Chicago WORLD's FAIR!! With the entire nation turning their eyes towards Illinois... somehow, one of the most dangerous men to ever live quietly fell through the cracks of history. Ted Bundy, The Boston Strangler, Jeffry Dahlmer even Charles Manson have placed their bloody fingerprints in our history never to be forgotten. But H.H. Holmes was the first & quite possibly the worst of them all. This DVD is a tale of true terror. Its not a "Gore-Fest" but a shocking documentory that holds NOTHING back. It pulls you back over 100 years to dwell in an enlightened age that had yet to give a name to the kind of fiend Holmes was. "Serial-killer".
Any discription of this movie seems to end up sounding like a bad 1950's horror flick. But I promise, you'll stay frozen and captured by this film as you remember this is a TRUE story!
Thank you waterfront productions 100% INDEPENDENT FILM!!! I feel honored to have the a "Death certificate" copy. #858 of the first 1000!!!!

it's the best movie ever!!!!

You wouldn't normally catch me watching a movie about two children playing at spies, but I have a four year old son who's now getting into movies.

Who the heck am I kidding? I bought this movie for ME! Fortunately, my son took to it immediately, and now lists it as his favorite movie, chucking the purple dinosaur and even the almighty Wiggles aside. For that alone, it deserves five stars in my book.

This is a fun, fun movie, full of impossible situations and wonderful gadgets that children will love. My son was enthralled by the different spy vehicles on show, and now wants me to get one that can drive underwater.

Alan Cumming plays the role of super inventor / entertainer Floop, host of a surreal show that brings visions of Willy Wonka to mind. He even sings a grand musical number. Antonio Banderas is a suave yet sensitive spy, and a master of the pencil thin moustache disguise. His wife (Carla Gugino) is almost as "bad" as Trinity, except for the shades and jumping ability, and the supporting roles are admirably filled by Tony Shaloub , Teri Hatcher, Robert Patrick, George Clooney and Cheech Marin.

The stars of the movie are Carmen and Juni Cortez, children of Banderas and Gugino, who must rescue their parents from the evil fortress, and save the world from the child robots equipped with the "third brain".

Chock full of sight gags, weird science, Fooglies and Thumb-thumbs, this is an entertaining movie that's suitable for the entire family, and short enough (88 min) to watch repeatedly if necessary.

CASABLANCA

This is one of the best if not THE best movie of all time. A romance set in the backdrop of the biggest war in history. This parallels the struggle within Rick Blaine. The colorful cast combined with a great story line and superb lighting make this the finest love story of the 20th century. The choice of B&W strengthens the imagery we all have of the people and places in Casablanca. The only weakness would be the special effects of the take offs and landings of the airplanes. This is one of those movies that has something for everyone; romance comedy action drama and suspense. I would rate this tied for the best movie of all time with Citizen Kane, and Absolutely the best romance movie of all time.

I like it aaah lot

I am not a huge fan of comedies nor do I particularly like Jim Carrey, but Dumb and Dumber is one of my favorite movies! I first saw it only a couple of years ago on television. And I thought it was so funny. Whenever it comes on television I watch it. Until I finally bought a copy for myself; now I can watch it whenever I want. This is the type of movie you don't have to watch too closely after the first time. In other words, it is a good movie to pop in when you are doing other things - house work, school work, or whatever. I love the music in it. The movie never seems dated. And the performances are dead on. There is even a sweetness to Carrey's character that comes across. Funniest part: when Lloyd sees the framed newspaper article in the lobby bar about the moon landing. "All right! Hey everybody, we landed on the moon." I never get tired of this movie. If I have a bad day, this perks me up. I definitely recommend it even if you don't like funny movies. And look for a cameo by Cam Neely, formerly of the Boston Bruins, as Seabass!

Crikey Review

I thought that it was a movie alot like his shows that he has, I really think that he should make some more movies that are like his shows. I would seriously love to meet him. My brother is a snake hunter. He catches snakes, views them, and releases them back where they came from, safely. He got me catching wild creatures too, I really love animals and would do anything, even if it means injuring and/or taking my life to save an animal. I would just love to meet Steve and Terri Irwin, if you have any way I would be able to meet them please e-mail me at, sonyastar2002@yahoo.comThanks and I loved the movie alot. It is great.

MY FAVORITE HARRY POTTER MOVIE/BOOK!

i am a major fan of Harry Potter. i have been ever since JK came out w/ the first book back when i was like 8 or 9. i loved this book when i read it! i still love it! even though i read it like 4 years ago, it has still remained my favorite. i think it is b/c Sirius and Lupin come in for the first time and i love both of them. [which makes the 5th book hard for me to handle. :( ]

anyways, i was very glad when this movie came out in theaters. i had heard that it was very different from the book. to be honest though, i couldn't tell, and it was probably b/c i haven't read it in a long time. i just remembered the main parts and that was good enough for me. :)

i personally thought it was awesome. i had wanted to see this one ever since i first heard that they were going to turn them into movies. i was very glad to hear that it would come out in the theater two days before my 14th birthday as well.

the whole thing was awesome. the way they set everything up. the clothes were even a lot better this time around. i thought that Alfonso Cuar?n did a very good job.

the story is getting way better than the last two. it just makes it better w/ harry, hermione, ron, and every1 else being teenagers. the whole becoming of age thing makes it seem more for older audiences than the last two also.

all in all, i am very excited for this to come out on DVD! i can't wait to see it again. :) it is my favorite HP movie/book, and probably always will be. when it comes out, i recommend if you haven't read the book that you get this. also if you aren't too pickey w/ whether or not it is exactly like the book. or if you have as bad a memory as me and can't really remember much of what happened in the book anyways. ;)
