Robin William's best work

The title of the film is "Dead Poet Society" It mainly takes place in preparatory school,in the East Coast of the U.S.A.One of the main character is John Keating played by Robin Williams. He is an English teacher.Other main characters are Neil,Todd,Knox and Charlie. Mr Keating moved to Welton Academy. He said "Carpe Diem"(in English,Seize The Day") The boys made the club,Dead Poets Society. They read poetry in cave in the evening. Neil wanted to act in a play, but his father forced him study,so he couldn't obey the order, and at the end of the film, certain tragedy happen...Knox fell in love with Chris who had already her boyfriend. But he got a chance to watch the play with her.Charlie didn't obey shool rules, and the headmaster expelled him.
We particularly likeed the last scene because the students opposed Mr.Nolan, and stood up on their desks in the last scene. It gave us deep impression. We like Charlie. He was daredevil but he always had his will and did as he liked.
The main massage is Seize The Day means to be active and live fully. The themes of this film are education, friendship, freedom and relationship with parents.
The film made us courageous by Mr.Keating's words. We were moved by the last scene. We learned many things. When you become tired of your school life, teacher or friend,We recommend you to see this film.
We learned to Seize The Day.

Brilliant

A DVD of two halves - literally, with a little intermission in the middle. The first half is good, but the second is Godlike. The guys seem to use the first half to get warmed up because although the first half is good (and, in the case of "Bravado", extremely good), it is not until the second half when they really hit their stride. But when they do, they are incredible.

I don't care how good the sound is or is not, the second half of this concert is Rush playing as well as they ever have in their career. Particular highlights include the gorgeous all-acoustic rendition of "Resist" which follows Neil Peart's stunning solo turn ("O Baterista") and "La Villa Strangiato" which has so much power and musical skill that it hurts, as well as a very amusing rant from Alex (Rush fans will be familiar with the "rant", but for those who are not, Alex has a little improvised solo spot in every show where he basically talks nonsense for a few minutes while Geddy and Neil fill in). For three guys approaching 50, the sheer energy and attitude they still put into their music shames most of their contemporaries.

Anyone claiming to be a Rush fan must have this DVD. Simple as that. Even those who, loaded up on testosterone, won't see past Moving Pictures should get something out of this.

Excellent, thought provoking film....

Sigourney Weaver gives a stellar performance in this great independent film. The story centers around a family who has to go through the unthinkable--the suicide of a child and brother. The movie starts out at this point, and it takes the audience through the unravelling of a family where everything looked great on the outside before the suicide, however, after the event the dysfunction rears its ugly head. Besides Weaver's character, Sandy, audiences will also find themselves sympathizing with Tim, the son that wasn't "the star" and who has to confront some demons of his own concerning the tragedy. This movie is highly recommended for everyone to see, and do be prepared for a shocking ending. It is very surprising, and makes the film really worthwhile. You'll be thinking about it several hours after leaving the theater. One of the best indy films of the year...so far.

You've probably already seen segments of this film...

I would like to poinnt out that the musical score on the DVD is by Shostakovich, but although he was one of the great film composers, with over 30 scores to his credit, he did not write one for "Potemkin". The score you hear on the DVD was adapted from his symphonies, mainly nos. 5 & 11. (The latter, subtitled "The Year 1905" is particularly appropriate for this film.) Needless to say, this score works stupendously well for this most musically-constructed of all silent films. Though the visuals show their age somewhat, with faces sometimes obscured in darker scenes, this DVD is an essential acquisition for any film buff.

Outlandish, Trashy, Pathetic and Genius

The Anna Nicole Show was lambasted by reviewers and I didn't see it lasting that long. But like the ingenius theme song says, Anna does just fine with what she's got- and that's a lot! This show is pure trashy fun and on a boring night, or any night it's fun to pop in an episode and watch as Kimmie- (the assistant) tries to pretend she doesn't want Anna's ass and Howard- (the lawyer) pretend he actually has balls and a life outside of catering to Anna's every whim and need.
The quotes you and your friends can get watching this show are endless, "Somtimes, I like to pretend Kimmie is a bouncy ride and I drop a quarter down her shirt and she bounces me." Oh Anna, what would we do without you???

Making the Cut

The plot is a predictable luckily the actors along with the make up and costume department make up for it. This movie shows various hair styles and costumes through it helping to keep the viewer's attention.
The British Hairdressing Championship is set to take place in a town called, Keighley. Among its residence is Phil Allen (Alan Rickman) who competed for 10 years before losing it all. Now he is a barbar with his son Brian (Josh Hartnell) and his ex-wife Shelley, whom he hasn't spoke to in 10 years, and her lesbian lover Sandra (played by Natasha Richardson and Rachel Griffiths) work only a few buildings down. Allen refuses to enter the championship despite his ex-wife's request and his son's interest. Its only when Shelley reveals a secret to her ex-husband and son does Allen and the other characters start to understand a lesson in love, revenge, forgiveness, and family.

A Channel for Kubricks Genius

This was a very well directed movie. Kubrick really did his homework on this movie. The feel of young Alex (mcdowell) as a gangster doesn't get you to like him in the beginning but near the mid way point and the end you have a certain respect for him. The thought of someone who Rapes, Beats, and Murders his victims to something horrible and then going to prison, and then gaining his gangster soul back makes this an amazing movie

Dramatic and a story of true love!

I picked this up at my local hastings store thinking it was one of those intergalactic war things like Gundam. Now I really can't judge a book (or anime DVD) by its cover. I am sorry for what is coming up in this review, for the people that like this.
This is a 30 minute story revolving around to middle school lovers...with an 8 light year gap in between. They only have text messaging to communicate, which it takes 8 flippin' years just to receive a blasted text message, for crying out loud. There you have it folks. That is numero uno of only about three things that make up the plot of this. I am deeply sorry, but i just don't care much for these DEEP, over my head romance things.
dub-I'm not even going to start.
animation-this is pretty much the main thing that caught my attention. It is great. The icons on the phones almost look real.
music-words cannot describe the beautiful background music.
Overall rating-3 out of 5. People get crushes all the time in middle school. It isn't like they ever see them again after college, if it is just a little crush. The people in this thing haven't seen each other for 8 years. I believe it is time to GET OVER IT. When Noburo said "I have moved on with my life" I just sat and said "DING DING DING! WE HAVE A WINNER!" Plus, this is way to serious of a relationship for two people at just 15 years of age. Though it might be good for the people that are new to anime, it just isn't for me. Sorry.

Best love story of all times!

The acting is bad, very bad. The story is so dumb it makes my brain bleed. Sure, JLo has a big booty but does that mean she can act? I tolerated her wooden performance in The Cell, due to the special effects and the presence of real actors in the film; but she keeps making these horrible flicks!
Let me put it this way: I'd rather watch Mariah Carey's "Glitter" than sit through this horrible JLo commercial again.

Anne Frank

I loved the Anne Frank mini-series.Hannah Taylor Gordon played her part very well.Jessica Manley as Margot did well too.I think Nicholas Audsley (Peter) deserves more credit.Nick played his part wonderfully. He captured Peters shyness and akwardness extremly well.He also played in the Cazalets. All the actors and actresses played there parts very well.If you liked this movie, check out The Hiding Place.See ya.
