Return of the slasher!

When I first watch Scream I didn't know what to expect, I didn't really like horror movies and only watch it as all my college friends were. The result of this movie was simple, I don't think I ever enjoyed a film as much. Then there was Scream 2, which was again a good movie, but not as good as the original, as it was pretty much the same, and the posible killers limited. So, when Scream 3 was released, I had to see it, but I didn't really expect a lot. Scream 3 was brilliant, maybe not as good as the first, but better than the second. The number of possible killer was again huge and the twists regular. The story sorta goes like this....its the set of Stab 3, and the killings again start, with the cast members being killed in the order they were in the script. Dewy is on set as a technical advisor, and Gail Weathers is helping the police find the killer. The murders revole around the life of Sydneys (who's living in the woods, but soon becomes involoved) mother Maureen Prescott, and then explains the basis of all the movies. Scream 3 completes the story, it is very clever filmand without doubt the best horror since Scream. I hope the DVD will do it justice, as both Scream and 2 are presented on poor disks. Please let them end Scream on a high, don't ruin a good thing.

This movie was stupendous!

The Matrix series should be looked at as an example of what George Lucas had better not do (OR ELSE!) with the final Star Wars movie. I will personally FedEx him my movie ticket and popcorn receipt for him to give me back my money via PAYPAL!

Mariah amazes me....

All I have to say is that this movie is HIGHLY underrated...There are much worse movies that have done very well and I don't understand why Glitter was so unsuccessful. It was absolutely amazing and this was a great movie to showcase Mariah's wide acting abilities. There were some teary scenes where she truly embraces emotions so well......*I* was in awe of her talent.
If people would give this movie a chance...I know they would like it. It was actually a lot sadder than I expected but nevertheless great. Also, it REALLY makes the Glitter album a lot more meaningful in a good way.....
Props to Mariah for doing such a great job...too bad it didn't do to well but she has other movies coming......And just because other people claim they dislike this one it can't stop anyone from enjoying it themself. This DVD is worth your money, if you've seen the movie I don't have to tell you why.... : )

tupac saves it

I loved this movie from the first time I watched it. Duane Martin and Tupac Shakur were my favorite actors in the movie along with Leon. It was kind of sad to see how Kyle treated his mom' s boyfriend and the way Bird treated the bum in the park. Overall, it was one of the best basketball documentaries I have seen all year!

The Monkees - Head - movie DVD cover picture
Amazing, simply amazing; a total psychedelic classic

It's astonishing how under-appreciated this film is. Forty years of anti-Monkees propaganda from the hipper-than-thou media will take a toll, I guess. The Monkees are still sneered at while the Spice Girls are geniuses, huh? It ain't a fair world. A film no one who doesn't know the TRUE Monkees would ever believe they were capable of making, HEAD is dazzingly subversive and non-linear. The construction is like a wheel, the theme pure Eastern mysticism, and the music is classic breezy Sixties mind-expanding pop with doses of C&W and vaudeville. What an all-round group of entertainers those guys were, and how shabbily pop history has treated them! Truly a brave, demented, inspired, seamless, transcendent voyage through the Bardo of Existence (howzabout a little mo' steam?). The space movie of all space movies. If you don't understand it, you're simply not ready for it yet.

Nothing Compares To This Incredible Movie

This is such an incredible story, and there is so many things to say about it, and yet no amount of words can quite convey the artistic beauty in this hidden gem. The matured talents of Speilberg shine through with a story that is multi-layered, strong characters and cinematography that will leave you awestruck.
This poignant drama is based on Alice Walker's Pulitzer Prize winning novel, and the movie has a lot to live up to. The movie is true to the book's diary format, as the diary is read aloud by the Celie, played by Whoopi Goldberg. This movie gave her her big break, and her performance screams, "Give this woman an award!"
Oprah and Danny Glover also star, and both perform as they never have before (or since!)
Margaret Avery's performance as Shug Avery is also worth mentioning, and it is very memorable and poignant.
This movie is about the value of being true to yourself, long-lasting love, perseverance, dignity and how to survive in the face of suffering, pain and loss.
This movie was nominated for 11 Academy Awards, including best picture and actress (supporting players Oprah Winfrey and Margaret Avery were also nominated), and it won none. See the movie and you will experience the injustice of that for yourself!

Great Shark Movie

I am so glad I purchased this DVD! I have watched it several times and I am always impressed with the prospect of 1 ton Great Whites hurling themselves out of the water in an effort to catch a their prey. Alot of the images showen in this video have never before been filmed. Obviously the airobatics of the sharks as well as a great white feeding friendsy with a whale as the main course. Simply amazing to watch, and having seen hundreds of videos about sharks and Great Whites specifically, I can say that this has been the most informative documentary I have watched on the subject!

A Great Film!

Until I saw this film recently, I never thought I would be able to sit through a silent film. I had read about Clara Bow, and was interested to see how she performed on screen. Although it is silent, her personality and vivaciousness shines. Her eyes just have so much expression...
The other actors are fine and the story line is all right, but Clara just takes this film and runs with it. No wonder that she became the It Girl upon the release of this movie!
Clara Bow was and is truly a film legend and deserves much more notice than she has received. What a wonderful film - worth watching again and again!
