Refreshing and charming.

This is a delightful movie, probably unlike any you've ever seen. All the characters are so well balanced and adorable, and their story is so well told that it makes you feel it's a true story about real people. It's refreshing, sweet, entertaining and charming.
A group of friends puts together a music band and they record a song. The song gets on the radio and quickly climbs the music charts, making them an overnight success. Their unexpected and speedily growing fame puts their relationships, as well as individual integrity and self-respect, to the test. Troubles arise, and with them the characters show their true natures, good and bad, making their musical career as a rock group as brief and ephemeral as lightning.
But despite the obstacles the characters face, a few good things derive from them, new relationships are formed, old ones are strengthened, and all the characters make the choices that allow them to successfully follow their dreams after having lived through a life-changing, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The score of the film is great and the songs are true to the style and the music of the sixties, which is the period in which the movie takes place. The clothing and sets are accurate and the characters are wonderfully adapted to the fads of the time. The writing, plot and dialogues are superbly well done (by Tom Hanks) and makes each and every character come alive, even those with just a few minutes of screen time. The cast is exquisitely chosen, including Tom Everett Scott, Liv Tyler and Tom Hanks, and their performances are natural and enjoyable.
This movie is a delight to watch time and again; each time you'll discover new details from the richly layered, yet realistic and simple personality of each character. A must-buy for anyone who likes a movie that tells a high-quality story through the eyes of interesting and refreshing characters.

Bad Boys Rule

Don Simpson and legendary action producer Jerry Bruckheimer who almost surpasses Joel Silver in what he put's on the screen, and at this time first time director Michael Bay who also helmedthe much bigger and from the looks badder sequel Bad Boys 2.Get'sdown and dirty for Bad Boys the first flim of this series wich teams Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.100 million in confiscatedheroin has been hijacked from Miami Police the pride bust of DEAand Narc agent's Mike Lowry(Will Smith)who is a stylish single and full of money and his partner Marcus Burnett(Martin Lawrence),a family man who want's quality family time could not be any more oppisite , but if they don't work together to find out about thewhereabouts of the missing heroin it will shut down the narcoticsof the Miami Police Department but when a drug kingpin played by Tcheky Karyo kills a freind of Mike Lowry's with a witness spyingon the murder it becomes personal for Mike. But they must do all they can to protect Julie(Tea Leoni) before she is killed by the kingpins henchmen even if Mike Lowry and Marcus Burnett trade places to protect her but they will also have to fight a drug warin order for them to recover the stolen drugs and save Julie's life.
An explosive first entry in the series in hopfully a trilogy wich would be very weird on Bruckheimer's part of taking the advantage of making his first trilogy.Explosive action , car chases , unbeleivable stunts and the like wise teaming of WillSmith and Martin Lawrence who without there chemistry added to the film would be no sequel and just and ordinary action film but there Mel Gibson and Danny Glover like appeal makes this film set afire as one of the best films Bruckheimer has madeDon Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer would only team one more time for The Rock before Simpson's untimely death , the highlyanticipated bigger and badder sequel is due out this fridayan awsome action film.

Sean Penn's best work

I have always found this movie to be entertaining. This may not be a legendary movie, but it is a fun to watch. It's first problem is that "We're no Angles" is a the name of a great movie from 1955, so it easy to expect more from this movie then it could ever deleaver. De Niro and Penn talents make up for a simple script and turn it into a fun story. Demi Moore is dispointing as she provides little to the part of the prostute, yet Hoyt Axton does very well as the head of the monastery.
Both men play excaped cons forced to make they way to Canada, but trapped at the boarder. Un-educated and desperate, De Niro and Penn bluff their way into the local monatery. An annual ceremony provide our two cons a way across the boarder, but the sheriff is closing in.
"We're No Angles" is a good example of how great actors can save a movie. De Niro and Penn both do that very well. If you enjoy light comedy, De Niro or Penn; this movie is well worth your time. It is nice to just enjoy a movie for the talents of its stars with out car chases, blood bathes. and all special effects.

A gem... I was surprised.

This was one of the best movies I've seen all year, and one of the funniest I've ever seen. I'm wishing now that I had seen it in the theater.
Hurrah! A movie where George Clooney plays a character that's not.... George Clooney! I have never seen him surrender himself to a part with such totality. He does outshine his compatriots somewhat, however that doesn't seem to be his acting as much as it is the vitality of his character.
Well written, acted and VERY funny. Lot's of memorable lines.

The Best Movie Ever!!!

Top Gun is, by far, the best movie I have ever seen. There is no movie that comes close to it. I have watched it about 100 times and it gets better and better everytime. Top Gun is not Tom Cruises only good movie either. ALL of his movies are good. I own 11 out of his 24 movies on DVD and waiting for The Last Samarui to come out on DVD because that is now my 2nd favorite movie.

Great Movie but Really Poor Sound

You would think that a Directors Cut DVD would sound at least as good as what you expect from any top rated DVD. But this release sounds so flat that even when played on a good 5.1 system (and turning the center speaker all the way down, trying to boost the side and rear sounds) I felt like returning it for a refund. The VHS version played in stereo, even sounds better. Hopefully, they will re-release yet another cut, and do for the audio, what has otherwise been done for this great movie.

Simply put, I love this series and I'm so glad I took a chance on buying this DVD Set without ever having watched an episode. The show delivers on so many levels and entertains so thoroughly that I truly hope and pray this won't be the last we see of Firefly.

An amazingly light hearted comedy about a bunch of guys who just like to have a good laugh and race through America. This films has more stars in it than you can find on Hollywood Blvd and is sure to give you a laugh if you know how to be silly. Probably not suitable for girls though.

the POINT of the movie recieves 5 stars

I really love this movie not because of its cinematography, not because of its acting, not because of its soaring plot, but because of the POINT of the movie. The POINT that this movie brings up has never and, it seems, will never be handled in such a perfect manner. The viewer never meets Kane, the people never meet Kane, and worst of all, Kane's friends and lovers never meet Kane. He exists as a compilation of his many selves he projects and of the many selves his close-ones percieve. A man can never be summed up in one movie, paragraph, or even one word.
"Rosebud" is one of the most recognized words in movie history. I almost gave the movie 4 stars because it reveals the meaning of the word at the end and in a way strikes down what the movie stands for and reveals to the movie watcher the real Kane: a sad, tortured individual longing for the love he lost as a child. BUT, the movie's POINT still stands and WOW if this movie doesn't deliver its POINT! 5 stars - SEE IT!

An outstanding performance!

When I bought this DVD, I read the reviews in, and I saw there were a few tracks.... but it really has a lot of tracks, many of them really popular. Here you have the track list:

1. When he's not around 2. No Good for me 3. Love to love you 4. FOrgiven not Forgotten 5. Joy of Life 6. Intimacy 7. What can I do 8. The Right Time 9. Queen of Hollywood 10. Dreams 11. Haste to the Wedding (Parts 1+2) 12. Runaway (My favorite) 13. Only when I Sleep 14. Hopelessly Addicted 15. I Never Loved you Anyway 16. So Young 17. Toss the Feathers

Three songs are performed with Mick Fleetwood, from Fleetwood Mac.

The DVD quality is just supperb, video and sound quality are excellent, the menu is just fine for a music DVD. I'd like a few more extras, but it's ok. The DVD doesn't has subtitles either... so you can't do karaoke...:)

I don't like much the DVD case because it's those kind of cases which suffer with use. It's like the Matrix DVD case. I preffer those covered with plastic, offer more protection to the DVD.

So, in resume, I suggest you to buy this DVD, you won't be dissapointed at all... The Girls are pretty and the songs are beautiful.
