I really love this movie. In my opinion, it's the second best horror film ever made (closely following Stanley Kubrick's brilliant 'The Shining'), but there is one thing I simply cannot understand.

Not only do several of the customer reviews give away the ending of this film, but the official Amazon.com review does as well. I'm not going to say what these reviews give away, because I don't want to add to the problem, but trust me, much more is revealed than should be. Some famous person once said that you should go into this story (and any Ira Levin story) knowing as little as possible about it. I can attest to this. When I first saw this movie, all I knew about it was that it was a horror film by Roman Polanski, and I'm glad of it. By the end, I was as freaked out and paranoied as the heroine, much more than I would have been had I known the the plot twist that occurs, literally, in the last scene of the film, but which the Amazon official people seem to think necessary information prior to viewing. Anyway, my advice is this: if you haven't seen this movie, read nothing else on this page. Go and rent the movie. It's fantastic, you'll enjoy it. And Amazon: please take down that review. You're ruining a classic film for thousands of movie watchers.

New Territory

The thing I liked about this DVD is that is really gets outside Washington and Oregon. The filmmakers focused on the area around Idaho and Utah--not your stereotypical bigfoot area. But anyone who has lived in the Intermountain region knows there have been plenty of sasquatch sightings in that area.

Anbd while most films on this topic focus on the same old 3 or 4 sightings, this piece uncovers two encounters that are not as widely known--but very intriguing nonetheless.

The first half of the film lays out the case for bigfoot in general and then tracks down two of these encounters with the actual eyewitnesses. In both cases, the eyewitnesses return to the scene of the sightings for the first time since they saw the creature. It's pretty interesting.

Then the filmmakers spend the night at the remote location where one of the sightings took place.

I rather enjoyed it. It's true to it's title "Rocky Mountain Bigfoot."

Nothing has to be said

This movie is a classic, start to finish. Wonderful weaving of stories, characters, lives. Masterful use of actors to their fullest degree. If you don't like this movie...well, you probably like "Summer School" a little to much.

WHAT A CLASSIC!

When I saw previews for this film, the first words out of my mouth were: I HAVE GOT TO SEE THIS FILM!This movie was hip, classy, stylish, witty and very retro. This movie was made in the grand styling of Doris Day versus Rock Hudson movies of the 60's. The movie is filled with plenty of double entendre and sexiness. The sets were retro and well thought out. In a day and age when you think movies can't be smart, sexy and fun; along comes DOWN WITH LOVE.Renee Zellweger is a girl from Maine who decided to write a book about women focusing on their careers and have sex without love-just like men.Ewan McGregor plays the hip and sexy Catcher Block who goes against his own grain to prove that he can land Barbara Novak (Renee).David Hyde Pierce plays Catcher's friend and co-worker Peter MacMannus. David's awkward take on Catcher's lifestyle is very fitting of Tony Randall's character from Pillow Talk (Tony also has a small part in Down With Love).Sarah Paulson is Vicki Hiller, the hippest and chain smoking friend (and new editor) to Barbara Novak. The script was well thought out and well written. It was sharp, witty, clever and "saucy".The use of the "split screen" phone calls were fun and different (compared to movies nowadays). They took that idea right from Pillow Talk. I felt like I was transported back to the 60's. The overall sex appeal of the movie would definitely favor the women (as a man I can say I did not know that Ewan McGregor had that kind of body underneath his clothes-I am jealous). Every woman in the world is thanking the praises of Barbara Novak and her book. Women all over are finding power over their men. Now Catcher feels threatned and has lost his grip over his girlfriends. Catcher decides he must persue Ms Novak and prove her wrong. So he changes his occupation (writer to astronaut) and his origins (from his Scottish accent to an southern accent). There is always something to watch out for. Renee's facial expressions and rantings are just like that of Doris Day. Ewan's whole attitude towards wooing women resembles Rock Hudson back in the day.I want to mention the chanteuse like look of Gwendolyn (Jeri Ryan). She was a Swedish stewardess and girlfriend of Catcher who provides extra sexiness in the movie. She also becomes the person who "let's the cat out of the bag" near the end of the film. The costumes were gorgeous and clever. The set design was thoughful and dazzling. The low level of music almost in every scene kept the movie bouncy and fun.I hope this is not the last of it's kind. We need more movies like this. This was fun!

Great Pack-Quality can be better

All the Movies on this pack are great-Nosferatu;House on Haunted Hill; Night of the Living Dead. I love all 3 of them but the quality can be better-it doesn't have that dvd picture that people would want. I love the music they added for Nosferatue. Rock Horror meets 1922-lol. I still love these movies but and i think i can live with the bad quality anyway.

THE MOVIE "ARMAGEDDON" WISHED IT COULD HAVE BEEN

The best disaster movie I've seen since "The Towering Inferno". The events portrayed in this movie actually seem feasible & I honestly believe it could really happen someday. The pace of the film was excellent; it never dragged along unnecessarily but got right to the point. The acting (particularly Morgan Freeman) was outstanding throughout. This movie stayed with me for a while, which is more than I can say about most of the ones I've seen. Give it a try; I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Just Beautiful!

With its incredibly pleasing ardor, When Harry Met Sally...captured me in 1990 and has had a hold on me ever since. I've watched this glorious film countless times, and the DVD version has only increased my passion for it, "taking me to a place I've never been before." Widescreen...lustrous colors (especially the colors of a New York autumn)...what I've missed all these years! We follow the course of Harry and Sally's relationship over a period of years and come to care very much about them (and their endearing eccentricities that hold true even as they themselves change over time). We want them to be happy. Climactic New Year's Eve scene bring's tears to my eyes again and again. Harry and Sally find what we all hope and long for. Off-beat, against the grain romantic comedy with knowing Nora Ephron dialogue represents Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan's best work. Exceptional musical arrangement makes the best use of the talents of Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick, Jr., and others.

Latest and greatest from Pixar

What a pleasure. A gripping story, characters you care about and beautiful visuals. One slight word of warning for those with sensitive children (e.g. kids who got very upset when Simba's dad dies in the Lion King) might find a couple of scenes a little scary (a shark chase and a chase by an angler fish). Pixar firing on all cylinders.
