Re: People pay money to watch reruns, now thats funny

Here's some advice for A viewer from EARTH: SAVE YOUR SPELL-CHECK. What's a poseur? And get a dictionary. The definition of YUPPIE is "young urban professional", suggesting career-obsession, snobbiness and materialism. The Seinfeld cast better fits that definition than the Friends gang, who are all about relationships and sticking with each other. Just because you don't dig Friends doesn't mean you have to be rude to the people that do. Many of us can relate to the things that happened in the episodes...you clearly have no life, or you would too. FRIENDS RULES!

Be very afraid

An excellent parody of the horror classic. As a gay cult film fan I truly enjoy the total disregard of "politically correct". In fact, it is one of the many endearing qualities of this film. Rewatchable and a great source for interesting conversation with conservative coworkers that need their cage rattled a bit. Even those who have made the leap of "gay" as an adjective to "Gay" as a noun can enjoy a private chuckle at this one!

Good Batman.....

i liked Begins just as much as the next guy, but it wasnt my total cup of tea. i remember the days of keaton as batman and when compared to bale, you could cleary see whos the more badass: Keaton. yes, Keaton. Bale was a good bruce wayne, but a horrible batman. ppl who are expecting a batman movie will be a bit dissapointed. this is more like (im not making this up) "bruce wayne" begins, and i just wish there was more "batman action" in it. i enjoyed the movie as a "movie", but not so much as a "batman" movie. that one is for keaton.

in short, bale is a great bruce wayne, horriblr batman.

the rest of the cast is good, great even. i recomend this film to anyone who loves a good al round movie, but if your looking for batman action and iconic moments, look no further then BATMAN (1989) and Batman Returns (1992).

oh and christian bales batman sucked. just thought i'd let you know. keaton owns that line.

The 3rd rock of 1952

Usually you look back at old programs like the Lone Ranger and think how hokey they were. Then you realize that you, being a kid at the time could enjoy them as they were.

Then there is "Topper" the TV show. It was one big smoking commercial.

Well I sort of counted on this happening with "My Little Margie" (Gale Storm.) Boy was I surprised. The plots are complex for the small period of time they have to execute in. Hokey or not they had me laughing. And Price per pound, you get so many episodes. I am working my way through them all and find some how they are comforting like an old friend. It is fun t spot the different actors in movies and say I saw that person on "My Little Margie."

After viewing, I will put them on the shelf and they look good as a collection.

Betrayed - movie DVD cover picture
He named his dog after Ronald Reagan.

This was one of those mythological films that I speak so highly of in other reviews. This was a gem hidden in the darkness. Looking at the cover, you would never guess that this would be such a powerhouse of a film, but let me be the first to say that it was.

Berenger and Winger are amazing in their roles. Winger giving the best performance that I have ever seen her do, while Berenger takes a character riddled with evil and makes him human. When I first began this film, I was expecting a very true Hollywood production. One that would be dark at first, but all of the sudden create this happy world at the end. This film did nothing close to that. What was amazing about this film was that it let the audience make it's own decisions. Not much was handed to you on a silver platter.

Upon the first ten minutes of this film, you would probably assume that it was a love story. It is anything BUT a love story. It is a crime/thriller/drama film, and quite possibly one of the strongest that I have seen in some time. There are some scenes in this film that I couldn't believe I was watching. The sheer brilliance of the director left me wondering if this film was really made in 1988. The cinematography was outstanding. There is one scene that stands out the most in my mind. After Berenger tries to "put down" his dying horse, he can't pull himself to shoot a living creature, so he has his side-kick do it. After it is done, he runs out into the rain behind Berenger wrapped in a plastic tarp. The image here is of the devil riding close behind. It is so vivid and so beautifully done that you can't help to wonder what that may represent. There are a couple of scenes very similar to this as well.

Now, this isn't a film without some small flaws. The young girl was annoying. Perhaps I find young children in these types of films always to be annoying, but in this case it was especially bad. Also, there were some dopey scenes to this film. There were some parts that I felt I was the director of the film watching some bad lines happen between Berenger and Winger ... but it was only a couple.

Betrayed ends like an open-ended question. It tells you that justice has been served, but not eliminated. It does not paint a pretty picture of our society. Be prepared if you see this for some embarrassing, yet disturbing images of ethnic hatred in this film. Some scenes that you will not believe ever happens in our country, but in the back of your mind you know certain evils do exist. But then also be prepared to see John Mahoney (of Say Anything... fame) do his best work ever. The war took his son, the bank took his land, why shouldn't he fight in this battle of supremacy? Dark and impressive ... WOW, I am lucky to have found this one.

Grade: ***** out of *****

5 stars & it's still has the shrink wrap on it.

What can I say. I am giving season 3 a five stars which gives this DVD set that same rating. Extras are wonderful, but even without them, this DVD would get a 5 star rating.
I was of the mind that season 2 was the best. It might be in many respects, but this season completes the Buffy/Angel story-line arc and brings a sad but satisfying end to their relationship and only makes the show that much better in the long run. In other words, this is probably the BEST season yet.
More high-school teenager drama will be thrust at you, along with the humor, tension and action that accompanies most Buffy seasons. Season 4 was pretty good, but some of the underground secret army ideas was a little too much, but man, you can't beat Hush! Season 5 had some excellent episodes, with The Body being one that really leaves you num when it's over. In some respects, season 5 was better than 4. Season 6 was okay, but I thought it just got a little too silly. But, after watching it again on FX, I can say that it actually wasn't that bad now that I know exactly what was going on. And many things come back to haunt not only Buffy, but Xander as well, especially his lying to Buffy about Angel in season 2, which resulted in the death of Angel and almost the end of the world. Season 7 is shaping up to be another excellent season.
But, back to season 3, the problem the gang faces now is where do they go? Graduation is coming up this year, and oh boy. It's going to be one Hell of a graduation, and Hell is the operative word here.
Buffy's Mom has to come to grips with her daughter being the slayer and she does to a point. Buffy has some competition when Faith shows up. I mean, we see Buffy actually getting JEALOUS when the Scoobs start talking with Faith when she first shows up. Pretty funny stuff. Buffy once again is the outsider, if only for a brief moment. But again, the trials and tribulations of someone possibly cooler and more popular than you comes into play and Buffy has to deal with it 5 by 5 as Faith would say.
Finally, in this season, we are introduced to the Counsel in body (we already knew about them in speak). We learn that they can be just as evil as that which spawns from the Hellmouth in the episoide "Helpless" in which Buffy loses her Slayer powers, with a little help from Giles. It brings home the father/daughter relationship that they have between each other, but it finally hits home for the both of them. So much so, that Giles loses his job for going against the Counsel to try and save Buffy. Of course, when Buffy's Mom get's inadvertantly involved (and not of her own free will mind you), it really sets things in motion where Buffy realises that soon, she may to have start taking matters into her own hands and forget the Counsel.
The interference of the Counsel doesn't stop there. Wesley shows up as the new watcher for Buffy and Faith. Of course, Giles and Buffy have their own ideas on how things should be run. Wesley brings in the "rookie" aspect of being a watcher, and it's hilarious how Cordelia is taken in by the English accent and manner of Wesley. But, that falls apart in a very humorous fashion later in the season. Who would have guessed these two would hook up again in Angel's series?
In the Prom episode, all her hard work is finally rewarded. She learns that, even though she tried to keep her Slayer job a secret from everyone outside the Scooby gang, the students, even though most would not say a thing to her or even glance in her direction (except to say, "Wow. There's that freaky girl!"), they knew something was special about her. In a world where kids were shooting each other up (very eerie since this season came out at the same time the Columbine shootings occured), the students at Sunnydale knew wierd things happened. But, Buffy always seemed to be there, saving them from harm and allowing them to live their lives, and for that, they thanked her and recognized her "achievements" at Sunnydale. An excellent episode and Buffy get's her just dues that she has worked so thanklessly for.
Everything in a person's highschool years is depicted in shockingly realistic manners. The monsters in many respects signify the problems and hidden fears that highschool kids face. This is really brought to the front in Earshot where Buffy gains the ability to hear people's thoughts. This was another show that was held back due to the awful shootings in Columbine, but it really drives home the point that highschool kids DO have problems, no matter how trivial they may seem to adults and that even the popular ones have problems. It's just that many of them are better at hiding their pain.
The main theme in all of the episodes hits home: not being the most popular student in school, hanging out with the "nerds of the school, your parents embarrasing you (Band Candy was HILARIOUS), the trials and tribulations of love that you have, that you want and that you can't have (Willow/Oz, Xander/Cordelia, Buffy/Angel, Xander/Willow, Giles/Joyce! EEK!), ridicule from other more popular students to the point it drives you to almost do things that you normally wouldn't.
Get it. Man, after reading my OWN review I think I have come to the conclusion that this IS the best BtVS season yet!
