Groove With A View

A view into the persona of two of the most influential musicians
to come out of the Delta and on to the Chicago Blues scene. For
that matter the world Blues scene.
The relationship between Hubert Sumlin and the Wolf is almost one of pshycic proportion. When they play together the communication is a lock step, they are connected as one grooving
unstopable force. AMAZING!
Even more amazing is the fact that Hubert is here to nararate thru out this video. Facinating.
As a musician aspiring to the Blues and what that means this is
a must have for me. And should be for all that appreciate the
Blues and understand that it's not just three chords on a guitar
but a living breathing thing that takes your whole being to understand. Will i ever understand it? I don't know but chronicals of this sort sure make it fun to try! And really i've told very little of the surprises that await in this video so get behind it and Enjoy!

Absolutely Fabulous - Complete Series 5 - movie DVD cover picture
Absolutely, Completely, Totally, Utterly Fabulous

I'm sure that most of us AB FAB fans agree that series 1,2 and 3 are the absolute best. Series 5 was better than series 4. As always, the bloopers are hillarious. I was disappointed that "Wheels On Fire" was instrumental in series 5. It's a great song and could have been done in a Junior Vasquez version by Bette Midler or Joan Jett. I am just thankful that Jennifer Saunders keeps AB FAB going. The woman is just brilliant. The things that come out of that mind! I hope there are many more series to come. Nothing makes me laugh as hard. Jennifer Saunder's Edina just blows me away. Her mannerisms, her facial expressions, her impatience with people. I could be in the worst mood, down and out, depressed; I pop in AB FAB and it instantly cheers me up. It almost works just as well as an antidepressant! If you have all the other series, naturally you have to have series 5!

BEST MOVIE EVER

This movie was the one of the best movies i have ever seen. I love Kate Beckinsale. She is an awesome actress.I have seen alot of movies with Kate Beckinsale in them. She is my favorite actress. The only thing i didnt like about the movie is that Kate Beckinsale died at the end. That upset me so much. But other than that i loved the movie. It was great. The producers and the actors and actress's did very well in putting this movie together. Thank you.

The Vicar of Dibley - The Divine Collection - movie DVD cover picture
Hmm..

Okay, Vicar of Dibley is in the running of being the greatest British Comedy ever (officially and not just my opinion) but it is very unfair that the complete collection is available in America when we can't get it here in Britain!! I own series 1 on DVD and apart from the "best of" DVD, I haven't seen any other series, let alone a complete collection. Unjustice!

I Bury the Living - movie DVD cover picture
One of my all-time favorite obscure movies

I BURY THE LIVING stars Richard Boone as a new cemetery caretaker who believes the cemetery plot map has ... special properties. The map shows all the plots, with a black pin indicating the plot is occupied and a white pin indicating the plot is reserved. Boone accidentally puts in black pins when a young couple make their plot arrangements, and the couple's subsequent tragic death seriously shakes him. He begins to obsess about the map, and eventually wonders what will happen if he replaces a black pin with a white one...
A fairly average story (admittedly rather "Twilight Zone" in style) is lifted immeasurably by the incredibly creative and imaginative cinematography and production design. As the map and its powers loom larger and larger in Boone's mind, so too does the map itself grow in size, eventually dominating the caretaker's office like a giant cyclopean seeing-eye. The imagery presented in the film is unforgettable.
I almost hesitate to mention the slightly disappointing ending because (A) it's really not THAT disappointing, and (B) it's so much fun getting there. This new release marks the first time the movie's been available in an VHS-SP edition (earlier video editions have been a fair VHS-EP copy and an excellent laserdisc). Now that it's readily available in a good edition for a small amount of money, you owe it to your collection and to your B-movie-loving self to see this overlooked gem!

Giacomo Puccini - La Bohème / Francesca Zambello · Tiziano Severini - M. Freni · L. Pavarotti · San Francisco Opera - movie DVD cover picture
An outstanding production

Operas are meant to be heard primarily in theatres, especially Scalla, with live big performances. In front of your small TV this video seems contrived because the wonderful arias are added out of sync. If you want to remain a La Boheme and Pavaroti fan, just listen with your eyes closed, or buy the CD. The English subtitles made a soap opera out of Puccini's masterpiece. If he were alive and watching, he would die.

The Patriot - movie DVD cover picture
...

The settings are gorgeous, the battles are great, the acting is appropriate, atleast for this story. From the beginning we hate the villain... then we hate him more. Then more. He is given so many opportunities for us to find nothing but disgust with his treachery. But in doing so, he looses his humanity. That doesn't necessarily bother me, its just obvious.

There is a sweet romance utterly crushed in the worst manner, leaving us with maddening contempt, but no doubt accurate to the period.

The most powerful moments in the Patriot come in the "saving Gabriel" scene towards the beginning. Gets me riled every time. Highly recommended, in the same spirit as Last of the Mohicans.

Very good story

so many people said watch this movie!! i had heard of it and actually rented it 2 times with the intention of watching it, but when i looked at the 2 tapes sitting on my table flashbacks of titanic played in my mind (soooooo long!!) so finally a friend had it on DVD and we watched it one day.
i was very impressed with the amazing story line and the excellent battle scenes. the commentary with actor/producer/director mel gibson was really cool, but i was hoping for more bonus items, but with a awsome story, i was glad to have finally seen it
