Rather good

This film is very good. As you can tell from the rave revies it has on this website and the 4 oscars it won in 1992 for Best Picture, Director, Supporting Actor and something else i cant remember.
The plot is convential - the hitman comes out of retirement after personal tragedy, but the performances superb and the charcetrs fascinating you'll be hooked. It's a great film and shows the acting talents of Clint Eastwood amount to much more than simply facial expressions, although they are spot on again here.
Gene Hackman is probably the true star here and his oscar was well deserved. The performance he gives as Little Bill Daggett is so three dimensional and you wonder to start with just is he good or bad? Nothing is made too obvious and you only find out later you should root against him. Morgan Freeman and Richard Harris have smaller roles but do their best and it all works well.
It's well acted, directed and boasts great scenery. This is the intelligent western and portrays gritty real charcters and makes you think. It's very grim and shows real hardness without being brutal - and that's hard to achieve.
Watch - better yet buy - this, you certainly won't regret it.

Good Show.

Bob Dylan performing with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on their 1986 tour. Great sound and well directed concert video filmed in Australia. Dylan is in top form as he delights his audience with a greatist hits show and the Heartbreakers produce a dynamic wall of sound sure to satisfy any fan.
Good set list including "Knockin on Heavens Door", "Like a Rolling Stone","It Aint Me Babe", etc.
Recommended for any Dylan enthusiast.

It's time to give credit where credit is due.

Yes, Jolie won well deserved awards for her remarkable performance. However, this film belongs to the brilliant Winona Ryder. Who did more than provide an outstanding performance. She fought for years to get this film off the ground, ..getting the right script, the right director and co-producing the movie. So without everything Ms. Ryder did to bring "Girl, Interrupted" to the screen, there might have never been an award to win. Lets give one of the worlds most underrated actress' the credit that is way past due. It's sad that Ryder is well known for her legal issues more so than her filmography that reaches nearly 30 films. "Girl, Interrupted" is an excellent film.

I pre-ordered the DVD and it arrived today. I watched it completely through the first time and now I am watching each song individually. The cinematography is awesome and if you've ever wanted to see Ani live but could not make it to the show, this is about as good as it gets.

I love this movie! Get this one!

Mel Gibson has done a truly incredible job with this film in both acting and directing roles. I believe that Braveheart deserved to win the Academy Award for Best Motion Picture of 1995. Since the release of Braveheart, the interest in the life of Sir William Wallace as the Scottish National Hero has increased at an exponential rate all over the world. If you enjoy watching great epics, then this film is for you. Braveheart is outstanding entertainment!

Is SIX stars too much to ask for?

Even the way in which the Village Roadshow logo appears at the beginning of the screening is good! Carrie Anne Moss starts the movie with a solid and heavy act, clearing her way through four groups of guys(agents)in suits to jump from building to building. Seeing the making to the film on the DVD and to know how the produced special effects of its kind does not at all destroy the way I look at the movie at all. As much as I love the movie, Keanu does slightly overact and Carrie Anne Moss goes a bit over the top aswell. Laurence Fishbourne does an accurate job as 'Morphious' in what to me is definately the best sci-fi film ever made(and the Star Wars films are sci-fi)There is a storyline, although I must admit that it does drag on a bit, but we are rewarded with more than expected special effects which in its style has never been seen before in Hollywood(the world)The effects are packed throughout the entire film in a very clever way. My personal favourite is where Neo(Reeves)dodges bullets fired by an agent on the enemy side to the Morpious team. The blockbuster has a fair soundtrack to go with the film which contains extinct matrix tunes, which now you hear on television commercials, movie trailors and on tv. Face it, we've never seen anything like it before! The matrix will surely bring a lot of ideas into the minds of new and future directors and scriptwriters. The sequel is something to look forward to. The only worry I'm having now is that they don't ruin the feeling with a bad sequel.

enjoyment of this movie was ruined by expectaions

Um, hello? Metichlorians??? What in the #@@$%$$ is that??? This was a total and complete waste of pixels!!! Yes, the podrace was awsome, but this HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ORIGINALS!! Not in style, substance, or anything else that mattered. Yes, it started the whole story/mythology plot going, and yes it continues on with the other five movies, but really, can you tell from watching Episode I to watching, say, Episode IV, that your're even in the same galaxy??? BLASPHEMY I TELL YOU!!! UTTER ABOMINATION AND BLASPHEMY!!! (pant, pant...) Is it worth getting all worked up over? Episode IV was one of the first movies I ever watched, ever. So yeah, it's kinda personal. Mr. Lucas, please come back from the Dark Side!!!
