Question

I saw this movie on TCM and it's very good and it's both creepy and also kind of unintentionally funny with campy humor!
But anyway I like Campy movies and this is one of the best campy movies ever made!
Joan Crawford, Bette Davis and Victor Buono are all teriffic in their rolls and I recommend Whatever Happend To Baby Jane? It's a campy cult Classic that is so worth watching and I might even buy the DVD!

I Can't Say Enough in a 1,000 word limit for this Review

I could go on and on...and for those who know me really do know that I could talk for hours about how much I love these movies. I find myself thinking, "out of the three, which do I like best?" I still can't decide, and perhaps I shouldn't. They all are great, "A New Hope", "Empire Strikes Back", "Return of the Jedi." There's something more to it than the special effects, the interesting creatures, the space battles. I love every aspect, but what makes me enjoy these movies so much is the story. Everything was so well thought out with the story of each character, their life growing up, how they got together, their relationships, (like Vader and Luke, Luke and Leia)and how they all ended to be. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good sequel of movies to watch. The only problem is, is that you spend an average of $40 for the trilogy, and then they come out with another box set three years later...but you all ready have the movies, but you want the box the next set comes it. For true collectors you know what I mean. I don't want to buy the same movie twice. I think they should just sell the boxes for people like me, but that's fine. I'm still excited for them to come out in a few months. Star Wars is a true classic, for this generation and many to come. Who can forget? "No, I am your Father." Or... "I am a Jedi, like my father before me."

Jack--as good as he gets

This is the movie that made me take another look at Jack Nicholson's acting abilities and it also made me become more interested in him as a person and what makes him tick. His performance in this movie is excellent. The other actors are okay. After watching it when it came on TNT I had to buy the video. Also this movie caused me to rent Cuckoo's Nest which later I bought my own copy. Last it caused me to give The Shining another chance and I bought that movie on VHS as well. Parts of this movie moved me to tears and made me think there's more to Jack Nicholson than meets the eye.

Naked City - movie DVD cover picture
A snapshot of the past-ahead of it's time.

This film is wonderful. At first I had a problem with Barry Fitzgerald as the lead then I stopped to think about real life in that era and understood that it was not as we see it portrayed these days with the Mel Gibson/Kevin Costner types in the lead roles. In all probability a guy like Barry Fitzgerald would have been a detective back then. The other standouts are Don Taylor,Howard Duff and Mark Hellinger's narration. Director Jules Dassin went on to make some of the best gritty crime films of that generation. This movie was 50 years ahead of it's time and did for it's type of film what Miami Vice and Hill Street Blues did years later. The magic of this movie is that after you see it you keep thinking about it, the real scenes of New York City keep coming back and it dawns on you that you are looking back 50 plus years in time to a then real New York City that no longer exists. Watch it several times, you see more things over and over that you missed the first go around. Film makers today need to get back to the basics of story telling and stop relying on effects and shock. They should study Dassin's works.

Kathy Smith - Kickboxing Workout - movie DVD cover picture
This Kickboxing Video is a Definite!!!

I've been doing exercise videos "sporadically" for years, including Kathy Smith. I tend to get bored really quickly and give them up. This one I haven't gotten bored with yet because the moves are diverse and you can always kick higher, jump higher and punch harder. And face it, punching, jabbing and kicking are rather fun and a stress release at the same time. What I like mostly about kickboxing, however, is the change in the shape of my body, and I am 50 years old. My upper arms, legs and hips have taken on a sculpted look, whereas in other exercises they tend to just reduce in size. I think it's because of the great upper body workout and kicks. I just wish K.S. would make another one with more kickboxing routines.

Welcome to the REAL WORLD!!!GREAT MOVIE!

This movie was so real to me that I thought it was a biography. The acting is the best I have ever seen, and the main girl is amazing. I am 15, and I can say that this is incredibly REAL. I am not involved with any of the things portrayed in the film and I try to avoid people who are, but peer-pressure is a daily battle every teenage has to deal with. Anyone could fall into a horrible lifestyle like that, and it was outstanding how well Hardwicke displayed this. Very depressing but definitely worth watching.

Stephen King's The Stand - movie DVD cover picture
One of the BEST adaptations out there

In my opinion, The Stand is one of the best screen adaptations of Stephen King's work. Although the book is better (it's almost impossible to capture Stephen King's character development in a four hour movie), this movie does a decent job (with the help of an all star cast) of telling the story. The Stand DVD set has extras that add to the enjoyment of this movie.
