Quantum Leap

I've been loving this show, Scott Bakula, and Dean Stockwell ever since the first episode I've seen about 10 years ago... and I'm sooo happy it's been finally released on DVD! Surely overpriced, but I think it's worth it.

just plain excellent

lotr the two towers is just plain excellent, this new installment definetly belong to the very small group of sequels that actually tops the first one (examples of this are: empire strikes back, terminator 2, the godfather 2 etc...).to some people this movie is a little disapoiting but people you have to remember that like all seconds part in a trilogy is always the second the most difficult to make because: it still have the same problems, brings new ones and it doesn't give a resolution to the story but this movie past the test really well giving us 3 hours of pure entretainment and setting the ground for the most wanted conclusion, so my advice is, go and see it hell i'm on my way to see it for the third time.

Watership Down - movie DVD cover picture

WATERSHIP DOWN is a timeless tale about the battle between good and evil and, in animated parable, speaks eloquently to questions about peace and freedom. A classic and faithful adaptation of Richard Adams' beloved book,

The animated production also features the vocal talents of some of Hollywood's biggest names. John Hurt (THE ELEPHANT MAN and A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS) stars as Hazel, the free-thinking leader of a group of rabbits that want nothing more than freedom. Sir Ralph Richardson (DR. ZHIVAGO and DRAGON SLAYER) cameos as the Chief Rabbit who is indifferent to the danger facing his colony of rabbits. Denholm Elliott (RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK) stars as the, indifferent, dangerous domesticated rabbit Cowslip. And the late, great Zero Mostel (the sensational and original Tevye from Broadway's FIDDLER ON THE ROOF) stars as the seagull Kehaar who becomes an ally of the fledgling colony of rabbits on Watership Down.

WATERSHIP DOWN is an animated classic that goes way beyond the usual animated fare and is a no-nonsense story that will become a family favorite.

How's the new audio track? Even though it's just DD, is it okay?

I've heard a few complaints of it being distorted at points...

Unpredictable and original

Like a lot of Hong Kong films, Beast Cops has chaotic shifts in tone, occasionally bizarre humor, and manically over the top violence. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It sure works in Beast Cops, which would probably suffer from being too predictable. What starts off as a fairly serious drama about a gambling addicted and somewhat corrupt cop turns into a domestic comedy/revenge actioner/mob thriller. In one scene you'll have a character suddenly killed with a machete, in the next you'll have seriously hysterical comic moments from Anthony Wong as the corrupt cop.
I've never seen a film work two extremes so successfully and naturally, without seeming convoluted in any way. It's an action film, to be sure, but one that incorporates the rhythms and feel of real life, complete with the comic bits and kidding banter. It probably plays a little bit better as a comedy, despite the brutal violence of the last showdown (a showdown that still has room for a couple of hilarious throwaway moments from Anthony Wong). Michael Wong, usually about as charismatic as cardboard, here is utilized beautifully in a more comic role, and more directors should take heed of his fairly impressive work here in a role that totally goes against type. Roy Cheung has the most serious role here, and essentially shows up and does his usual great work without breaking a sweat. But the movie belongs to Anthony Wong, who won a Best Actor award in Hong Kong for this film. He shows remarkable range here, and he really just might be the best actor in HK today. You see his work here, then watch Full Contact, Hard Boiled, and Big Bullet, and you wonder how it can be the same guy.
Along with The Mission, this is one of the best 'New Wave' Hong Kong pictures.

Incredible Movie

I ran into this movie while channel-surfing on TV. The introduction drew me in -- I couldn't figure out what they were doing with the people on a rotating stage in black and white and the corny 60's sounding announcer -- then suddenly the storyline went full-throttle into what could be some modern-day relationships in America. The movie not only focussed on intimate relationships between lovers but the strong bond between friends. I laughed and cried, was shocked and amazed, and thoroughly immersed throughout the entire movie. I saw the movie a few more times on cable, then have rented it a few times to show other friends who have never heard of it. Everyone loves it so I'm going to add it to my DVD collection to save having to rent it again! I highly recommend it to anyone who has an open mind, who loves great dialogue, and who actually enjoys a good story in their movie.

An excellent drama! No problem with the DVD version!

Although The Insider is an excellent movie that I recommend watching, I must warn you *not* to buy the DVD edition. Disney has put about 10 minutes' worth of previews at the beginning of the DVD that CANNOT BE SKIPPED OR FAST-FORWARDED. You have been warned!

idle hands is da bomb diggety!

I love it! It's my favorite movie! It has a terrific plot and a allstar cast! (Seth Green rocks da house yo! ) It's about this guy named Anton (Devon Sawa) who's the laziest kid alive. He realizes that his right hand is posessed by the devil after he kills his best buds Mick (Seth Green) and Pnub (Elden Henson). Mick and Pnub become "undead" and come back to help Anton find and destroy the posessed hand. It's a great movie and I recommend for you to see it!
