Pirates of the caribbean the curse of the black pearl

Pirates of the caribbean is a great movie to see with your family and friends!!! I would diffently go see it if I were you. Though the movie might seem a little corny on the effects part, it's still a fantastic and chilling movie. The reason I rate it 5 stars is because it should be rated that. I went and saw it and I enjoyed it very very very much. I thought it was so funny! The movie stars Johnny depp and Orlando bloom are awsome for this movie! I love this movie it was every boys dream to be a pirate says Orlando bloom who is a blacksmith (Will turner) in the movie. Also Johnny depp says that he enjoyed being in the movie very much, he says that it was like he already knew the part of the worsest pirate ever (captain Jack Sarrow). Geoffrey Rush said that he really had a great time working with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. He said that he thought the movie would be easy to do but unfortunally he says it wasn't! But in the end everyone put on the most exciting movie ever! So get off your duff because now is the time to see Pirates of the caribbean the curse of the black pearl!

Little Dieter Needs To Fly - movie DVD cover picture

This is simply an astonishing film from Herzog. For those who are familiar with Herzog, he has once again found a character - in this case Dieter Dengler - who becomes more and more fascinating upon closer examination. Herzog's films always have the sense of being impressionistic -- he throws the images up on the screen, and they may not always follow each other in a linear fashion, but they nearly always have a sustained, cumulative effect that, by the end of the film, is deeply emotional and troubling.
In this film, the good natured subject starts talking at the beginning and never stops -- Herzog has found someone perhaps even more voluble than he is -- and the audience is perfectly set up by his cheerful good naturedness and lucid observations, because by the end of the film we discover just how unimaginably damaged this person has been by life. The unfolding final images of the film are completely striking in the usual Herzogian sense (if you've seen something like "Lessons of Darkness" you'll have some sense of what to expect), but the meaning is ambiguous: is this a kind of heaven for little boys that love to fly? Or is this a hi-tech graveyard ...
Like Herzog's best (e.g. Even Dwarves, Aguirre, Nosferatu, Lessons and My Best Fiend), you simply cannot take your eyes off this movie.
Have fun!

Panic Room (Superbit Collection) - movie DVD cover picture
Great...and scary!

Jodie Foster is awesome in this film. She is such a talented actress & in this film she played a tough woman who didn't give into her attackers. This film follows Jodie portraying a woman who has a daughter & her ex-husband helps her buy this really expensive house with this panic room. On their first night there, three guys break in looking for '3 million' dollars which is located in the panic room. Unfortunately Jodie sees them on the camers in the panic room when she goes to turn everything off in their and stuff, so she runs and gets her daughter, & they run and get in the panic room. Now since they r in it, the robbers can't get in it. So over intercom Jodie tells them to 'get out of my house' & they tell her why they're there. Jodie and her daughter refuse to ever come out. Unfortunately they try putting gas in there to scare them out, so Jodie lights a lighter & blows the gas up into the gascontainer & the guys get hurt instead. But then her daughter goes into diabetic shock...she needs insulin. So when Jodie thinks she can make it to her daughter's room where a refrigerator (mini one) is by her bed, the two 'remaining' guys get in there with the daughter. Luckily Jodie throws in the bag of needles and insulin bottles into the panic room right before the door shuts. One of the guys is nice enough to give the girl the shot. When the two guys aren't looking, the little girl hides the needles behind her back. It all comes down to a shocking, suspensful ending that will be making you cling onto your seat or the person next to you! Go see this movie, it will live up to your expectations! I highly reccomend it!!

If you don't want crowd noise, pick up a retrospective album

I personally don't understand why some people complain about the sound quality. I think it's fantastic (except maybe the first few songs, seeing as they didn't have a chance for a sound check). You've already heard about how the concert spans almost all of their albums, so I won't bore you with those details. But if you're annoyed at crowd noise, then go pick up one of their "best-of" compilations. Part of listening to a band live is hearing how their energy feeds off of the audience and hearing how much energy the audience has. It was the Brazilians' first time seeing Rush, and seeing how entralled they were only adds to the feel of the DVD.
This DVD is brilliant in my eyes - terrific selection of songs, great energy all throughout the building; they more than make up for the occasional falter in Geddy's voice (which, for some reason or another, is most obvious in Limelight). A+ DVD!

Napoleon Dynamite - movie DVD cover picture
Do the chickens have large talons?

I'm not going to write a book here but I'll put in my two sense. I'll be the first to admit that the Napoleon Dynamite quoting craze is getting a bit ridiculous, but why not, there are more classic quotes in this movie then one mind could possibly think of. I've read alot of the negative reviews for this movie and I totally understand most of them. ND is not for everyone. Especially if you need comedy shoved down your throat. It moves quite slow and has no real plot at all but taht is also what makes this movie great. Its like no other comedy that has ever come out.
The characters first of all is what makes this movie great. All i was thinking the first time i saw this movie was Where in the hell did they find the actors to play these characters? Every character is so funny in their own way it's hard to choose a favorite. My personal favorite is Lyle, the old Idaho farmer. The script of this movie and the way the lines are delivered from the actors is also esquisite. This movie are contains alot of physical comedy taht makes it great. Deb runnign across the yard, Uncle rico making videos of himself, napoleon all sweaty drinking the energy drink, napoleon taking the VOTE FOR SUMMER button and chucking it down the hall, the principal bobbing his head during Summer's skit, the stupid look on coolguy Don's face the whole movie, ND flapping his hands during the Happy Hands Club presentation etc. the list goes on and on. I also love how the story all pulls together in the end with napoleon learning to dance then using his "skills" to help Pedro win the election and then Napoleon finally finding someone to play tetherball with him. And the dance scene i think will go down in history as an alltime classic scene. What alos made that scene enjoyable is if a nerd like ND would have danced like that at my high school we would have given him the same standing ovation.
The music in the movie also pulls it together quite well. The cyndi lauper song at the school dance scene is awesome and so is the acoustic song after the ND dance scene. My favorite though is the song played at the end when ND and Deb are playing tetherball. Kip's song after the credits is awesome Too.

All in all Napoleon Dynamite really is a hero taht is hard not to fall in love with.

Easy to follow

Pilates is a workout I can do. It is slow paced with a lot of intensity. It really works my abs, and I have noticed some changes around the abdomen/waist. This is an excellent program for beginners. Pilates Workout for Dummies has 2 segments: Beginner and Intermediate. The beginner section offers a slow pace with explicit instructions. The intermediate gives some instruction, but not as detailed, being that it is assumed that you are familiar with Pilates. As with any exercise video (dvd in this case), it is wise to view it first then practice. Unlike any exercise video (dvd), you can choose to omit the music in the background, which I think every exercise video should have this option.

28 Days Later (Widescreen Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
Excellent film... not for the insipid.

This movie is thoroughly thought provoking and disturbing. If copious amounts of blood and guts is the sort of distraction that is 'Scary' to you, rent Cabin Fever or rubbish of that ilk. The sparing use of gore throughout actually adds to the film. In addition, the way it was shot (with a digital camera) adds to the gritty and dark ambiance. As such, this fine movie is as much a psycholical thriller as it is a horror movie.
The -Scariest Movie Ever- it was not but then again, what a great marketing draw aimed at getting gen y-ers in the seats. In addition, I am not surprised the term 'boring' was encountered in other reviews of this film. It is a term frequently used these days by those that would rather be playing x-box or going to the next scream sequel.
Furthermore, this is not a 'zombie' flick nor does it claim to be. Therefore, there will be no eating of brains or the reciting of ancient curses. The actual premise of the film, to me, is much more believable: a biological weapons or medical experiment gone awry.
Highlights include 1) the protagonist finding his parents and 2) the unsettling resolution after a member of the group is believed to have been infected.

Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan (Director's Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
Science Fiction Masterpiece

FINALLY, THIS FILM GETS THE DVD TREATMENT IS DESERVES!!!!As an avid lover of sci-fi classic films, I give this one of my all-time highest ratings. I saw this film on HBO when I was about 6 years old, and although I had no idea what "Star Trek" was, I instanly was drawn into the complex and emotional world that is the "Wrath of Khan." For those of you who don't follow "Star Trek," this is the perfect starting point. I would not recommend the first film for those unaware of the genre. This film packs it all: scf-fi, action, humor, drama and horrendous tragedy. The plot centers around the not-so-nice villian Khan Noonan Sing(SP?) who wants nothing more than to blow James T. Kirk into space dust. To do so, Khan initiates one of the greatest cat & mouse games ever caught on film. A science vessel, the U.S.S. Relient comes across the barren planet City Alpha 6 to begin research on the testing of a new Starfleet device that can make planets out of space rock. Unfortunately, they stumble across Khan, and are subjected to one of the coolest forms of torture that I have ever seen in a sci-fi film. Khan then steals the Relient and the Genesis device bent on being naughty. The crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, which is on a training voyage, is dispatched to investigate, only to run into Khan and his new armed-to-the-teeth starship. And so begins the fantastic space battles and witty one-up manship that is the relationship of Kirk & Khan. The entire Mutara Nebulla sequence ranks second, only to the incredible Battle of Hoth in "The Empire Strikes Back," among my all-time favorite sci-fi movie moments. "Star Trek" or not, this film is one of Hollywood's best space operas and ranks with such films as "The Empire Strikes Back," "Blade Runner," and "Tron" as being one of the 1980's best sci-fi films.
Interesting side note: This film is actually just act one of a great 3 part sci-fi saga that continues the same story line in "Star Trek III," and "Star Trek IV." These three films can be viewed back to back much like the original "Star Wars" films. Here's hoping that "Search For Spock" and "Voayge Home" get the ole 'Director's Cut' treatment as well!!!!
To those of you who hate Trekkies, don't miss out on a great opportunity to see one of the finest sci-fi films ever produced.
