Pirates of the Caribbean Rocks!

Excellent movie that takes full advantage of the PSP screen abilities. The picture is flawless and gives you an idea of the massive amounts of colors the screen can produce. Not only that, but the audio comes through as clear as can be. After purchasing this movie, I actually ended up purchasing another copy for my friend because this was such an awesome edition to my collection!

I Recommend you get this movie!

A blessing of a movie!

Fraternal twins, the MacManus brothers turn vigilante in this hidden gem of a movie. It's dark, it's suddenly violent, and it's even funny at times. But the best part is that with Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus as the heavily accented strict Irish Catholic brothers, it is about as sexy as you can get. Defoe gets star billing as a homosexual overachieving detective and Billy Connolly makes a surprise appearence, but it's the brothers that make this one of those movies you'll be glad you found. Be the first on your block to see it, and spread the word. Your friends will think you know ALL the good movies and wonder how you found it!

Please sir, may I have some more?

OK, OK Dickins was a little earlier, but I found the series so compelling I really did want more. Six hours did not satisfy my thirst for more information and commentary. As a history freak, it would be a fantasy come true for me to do something like this, but since I haven't, this is the next best thing.
Of all the "House" series so far, this has proven my favorite, although I did enjoy 1940's House, 1900 House, and Frontier House as well. Colonial House is due to air in May 2004, and the BBC is filming Regency House (think: Jane Austen).

SAILOR MOON R!

Yeah, right on crouton! Sailor Moon R is the best movie I haveever seen out of the three. It is about all 5 Senshi and there is aninteresting plot there too. EVIL FLOWERS! Har har! Take that Martha Stewart! Ha ha ha! It is funny! There is a certain part though, when it seems that the VCR just paused. It's just Usagi and her amazing talant for holding her breath for 18 seconds. It's just a wonderful movie, Love, Action, Comedy... What more could anyone ask for. There is a nifty introduction to all the characters and we get to see Mamoru's past. Yay! Just forget about not knowing Japanese, it sounds nifty and theres subtitles. Have a nice day, and watch SAILOR MOON!

Best Animated Show ever

This show is amazing. I remember when I was younger I was drawn into the show and absolutely loved it. Nearly a decade later I have rekindled my love for the show and rediscovered its complexity and ability to appeal to a diverse group of people - both males and females, both kids and adults.

Its too bad the show was cancelled after two seasons (three if you count The Goliath Chronicles) and I hope that people will remember this show and go out and buy the DVD in multitudes, not only getting the rest of the series out on DVD but perhaps bringing the show back?

Words Just Can't Describe This One

Language fails as a medium for conveying observations about this film -- it is simply beyond intelligent description. I guess it could be called the movie which attempted to make its mark on society by establishing repeated pelvic thrusts as the core of a good aerobics workout but, despite the cast's best efforts, failed completely.

The Best Comic-Book-Inspired Movie!!

When I went with my friends to see Spider-Man, I thought it would be just another boring comic-book movie made for little kids. I was so wrong! This movie is great for kids, teens, and adults. Tobey Maguire (Spider-Man, Peter Parker) and Kirsten (Mary Jane) do a great job! The special effects are spectacular. This movie is wonderful- You'll find yourself glued to your seat!

Flight of the Navigator

I have a fantasy crush of Jackie Kennedy's first official white house portrait. That's about the time the first season Jonny Quest DVDs were made when I was a child. You don't need to look hard for a Ivanhoe/Fay Rae/Apollo/Butch/Rollerball/Field navigator wax space ship door, just look for John Kennedy and the 12 diciples at the Hollywood Wax web site. I bought this Flight of the Navigator DVD with the Jonny Quest DVDs. It's natural for some children to have crushes on first ladies even with the Lutheran Ten Commandments. A hamburger stand across the street from my then Chino CA home named Burger Bandit years ago was built because of Jonny Quest that has long since been torn down. That was a good place to get a hamburger when you were hungry. I even worked there for awhile. This Navigator movie is attractively made. The fantasy space ship is really cool. The story is very entertaining and fun to see. I doubt though that I'll ever have another 1978 Downey Savings girlfriend with her name being Carol.

Great DVD for my boys

This DVD has lots of great information for my five year old but, my two year old loves it too. He plays with his toy space shuttle and acts out the countdown. We borrowed it from the library on a whim and loved it so much we decided to buy it for our own collection.

TO SAY GOODBYE IS TO DIE A LITTLE

McKellen seemed to be hinting on a recent television appearance that we are not saying goodbye to our hobbits and their friend Mr Jackson. If I heard him aright we may yet expect The Hobbit and maybe more than that. What I am referring to is the end of the film which is a restrained tear-jerker as Frodo, Bilbo aged eleventy-five, Gandalf and the rest of them set off from the Grey Havens. The wind-up, post the downfall of Sauron, is kept commendably short. The events of the Field of Cormallen in the book seemed to me interminable, but Jackson avoids this. This is basically an action-and-effects movie, really just as Independence Day and the Indiana Jones films were that, and I commend it for both. Newcomers to the story, supposing there still are any, are given a quick enacted synopsis of how the ring was first found and how it got into the hands of Smeagol while he was still a regular hobbit. The action then takes up from where The Two Towers left off, with Treebeard and the ents left restoring the ruined surroundings of Isengard as an arboreal environment It was nice to see him again for a moment before the divided Fellowship moves on to the defence of MinasTirith and Osgiliath on the one hand, and the ascent of the stairs of Cirith Ungol and the encounter with Shelob on the other. The battle scenes seemed to me every bit as good as in The Two Towers, indeed better because this time we have the army of the dead on top of the already familiar orcs, trolls, oliphaunts and nazgul. Shelob is brilliantly done, the part of Denethor Steward of Gondor almost amounts to a piece of acting, the various towers are beautifully designed and differentiated, and of course nature herself has made rather a distinguished contribution by way of background, served by the superb camera work that we have now come to take for granted.
McKellen lends the casting a much-needed touch of distinction as before, and the rest of the cast need no more comment by this stage. Those who like vertiginous effects, as I do, will get a feast of them this time, and if I have one minor disappointment it is that the wrathful but impotent giant relic of Sauron could have been more impressively done simply by following the description in the book. I tried to see whether Sam's hobbit-wife Rosie had hairy feet like the males of the species but was unable to determine this one way or the other. It's unlikely that anyone reading this review will not have seen the previous two episodes, and even more unlikely that anyone who does not like the story will be reading it anyway. For any and all others, it will live up to your expectations. There is a real touch of directorial brilliance in the final tussle between Frodo and Gollum in the Cracks of Doom, and I shall not spoil that for you.
