One of the best comedies I have ever seen

This is a case where everything just blends perfectly, where the lead actors works very, very well together. If you like to laugh and just have a good time this is a must see. I have watched it countless times.

Insert 80's adjective here:

Awesome, cool.... 20 years later, this movie seems to be the one, most accurate snapshot of high school life in the early 80's. It totally takes you back, is fun, and has a great spirit. BTW, I got this the same time as "The Sure Thing," from the same era -- and there is no comparison. Sure Thing (and similar 80's movies) seems much more slick and calculated; an adult, corportate take on teens. If you suspend just a little disbelief, Valley Girl seems real. And the heart is there.... And a wonderful 20 minute featurette about the music with Richard Blade (KROQ dj) guiding things; Josie Cotton and fun, fun, fun...

This DVD is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Avril Lavigne she is so talented and she is a great song writer. Avril is one of my favorite artists. the reason baught this DVD,besides me loving Avril, was because my friend won 4 tickets to go to the premiere of this DVD. When she told me I was like o sh*t,you need to give them to me because I love Avril. of course she gave them to me. I got really excited when i found out Avril was going to be there in person! The Premiere was on November 3rd,2003 at 7p.m. at the AMC Empire 25 Theater in New York city. I waited for three hours on the red carpet outside to get in and,I was in the front of the line. Unfortunately I didnt get to see Avril on the red carpet because the had to let us in early so we could get to our seats. Avril went to TRL and did some interviews before the premiere so, got there around 7:45 and she went in and I saw her,she was so beautiful she looks better in person, she was wearing a white tank top with black jeans and a black jacket. She wwas only three rows infront of me. She thanked us for coming out to see her and,she went out to get popcorn for herself. The premiere was great they showed everything from the DVD and a few songs from the concert.I had so much fun! To my surprise Avril was sitting right behind me!!!! I didnt even know it until she got up from her seat to leave because she had to do more interviews.a week later I baught the DVD and obviously I knew what was on it,on the DVD it had all of her music videos and everything else was the same. One thing I noticed was that Avril's voice changed it wasn't that high piched teen voice that was on her album,Let GO.Its not she can't sing anymore its just that her voice evolved from a teenager's voice to a woman's voice. She was much younger when she recorded the album she was 16 and now she is 19. And she is so true to her fans that go to her shows that she wont lypsync. The live versions of the songs sound even better than the recorded versions on the album. This DVD is great it has bonus CD with 6 songs on it including 2 covers, Knockin'on heaven's door by Billy Joel and,Basketcase by Greenday. This DVD is defenetly worth every penny of your money and even if you dont like Avril youll find something about it you like,Hey it might even cause you to like her.

One of the best ever.

I was really glad when I found out NEWSRADIO would come out on DVD. It was high time because this show is simply hilarious with its wonderful cast. Just like SEINFELD and THIRD ROCK FROM THE SUN, this is, hands down, one of the best ever. I can't wait for the other 3 seasons to come out on DVD as well. Thanks a lot.

The Rain in Spain

A colourful production of Lerner and Loewe's musical version of "Pygmalion" about an ill-mannered cockney girl who is plucked from her job as a flower girl by Professor Henry Higgins; he makes a bet with a colleague that he can turn this rough diamond into a "lady" . Winner of 8 AA; Hepburn's singing was dubbed by the prolific Marnie Nixon (she was responsible for singing in "West Side Story" and "The King and I". Harrison is perfect as the crusty, eccentric Higgins. I have often wondered how Julie Andrews would be in comparison (she, of course, played Eliza on Broadway. A timeless classic.

Dial M for Murder - movie DVD cover picture
A suspenseful masterpiece

Former tennis pro Tony Wendice found out many months ago that his wife Margot was in love with another man, Mark Halliday, an American author of crime novels. After many weeks of planning, Tony sets in motion the perfect plan to kill his wife. The only problem is, as Halliday unknowningly remarks, there's no such thing as a perfect murder, and when something goes wrong, Tony has to quickly formulate another plan to do away with his wife.

This is a classic of suspense from director Alfred Hitchcock, based upon a very successful stage play. All the actors - Ray Milland, Grace Kelly, Robert Cummings and John Williams - all give fine performances, but Milland's as Tony Wendice is a standout. You're instantly won over by his conniving charm, and I admit to following his plan with a tiny bit of satisfaction. He's never over-the-top, remaining perfectly cool and collected even when things go awry. Hitchcock's directorial style also keeps the viewer confined to the apartment, only venturing outside very infrequently. As with the play, much of the action takes place in that small space, and Hitchcock uses it to his advantage with intricate staging and camera angles.

The DVD is wonderfully clear with sharp sound as well. The two featurettes are equally worth watching, especially the one on 3D. I never knew that the film was originally shot as a 3D feature, and this goes into some detail about how Hitchcock set up many of the shots without relying too much on the effects. Even as a flat screen movie, the film works perfectly. This movie is a genuine pleasure to watch and should be part of any movie buff's collection.

Furius fists force frequent fracases

Bruce is just amazing. His tecnique is so well suited for the camera that you forget you're watching a movie all together. Every frame seems more documentary than choreography. The fight scenes are worth watching over and over, especially the double numchuck defense in The Chinese Connection.
